Led by good reviews, on their website, I paid Leaf Filter $ 2197 to install gutter guards on our vacation house, pretty pricey for the size of the house. I chose what I was led to believe by their salesman to be a quality product with a lifetime warranty. I was told that the installation would include XELA FilterShield, a membrane made of stainless steel(as described and illustrated in their paperwork). I recently had occasion to examine the roof at which time I discovered that on approximately ¼ of the gutter area, a material resembling common window screen was installed instead of the XELA FilterShield. This is not only shoddy installation but a breach of agreement! Incidentally, debris does NOT roll off the guards, especially pine straw. At the beginning of August I wrote to both the company’s MD&VA locations notifying them of my findings — NORESPONSE to date(9÷6÷14). So much for the lifetime warranty as well as quality products and installation they tout! Errors and employee problems can happen but it’s what a company does to correct the situation that speaks loudly as to who and what they are. At this point, due to the incorrect installation and their lack of concern, I would definitely NOT recommend Leaf FIlter if you’re shopping for gutter guards. The installers obviously take short cuts, are difficult to communicate with due to a language barrier, and the company does not stand behind its claims.
