The meade pyramid is on spot of the biggest miss opportunity during the battle of Fredericksburg. Everyone knows the famous battle on the northside of the battlefield, Marye Heights and the Sunken. The pyramid is located on the southern side of the battlefield where the battle was very closely contested. The Union under Meade came really close breaking the rebel lines. Those railroad tracks was the scene of some intense fighting. The location is called Slaughter Pen Farm and was purschase by the Civil War Preservation sociey. All you need to know is that 5 men earn the Congressional Medal of Honor on that Battlefield.

This granite pyramid located on the Fredericksburg Battlefield is easily seen by railroad as you pass through or by hunting it out within the park. The 30-foot square, 23-foot high pyramid marks where Gen. George Meade and his federal troops broke through the Confederate defensive lines on December 12, 1862.
