We contracted Designed to Fit(owned by Isaac Oak) to help with a small part of our remodeling project on our Los Gatos home, and although most of the work done by Isaac’s «A Team» was satisfactory, ALL of the remodeling done by Isaac’s «B Team» was disastrous & needed revision(these guys were, in their own words, just day workers picked out by Isaac to backfill his«A Team»). Isaac chose these guys to work at lower rates then his other skilled workers(his«A Team») & the«B Team» guys arrived & for the most part were left unsupervised after 10am, when Isaac would leave each day to attend to his other remodeling projects. These workers were truly unskilled for the work they were tasked to do, they left huge messes throughout & at the end of each day, & they had to redo their work several times because they had absolutely NO idea what was expected of them. One guy Isaac brought in to work on our kitchen tile backsplash had no clue about how to install & center junction boxes in the wall so that the tile backsplash contained a zigzag of junction boxes. Another worker never laid down the sand/cement mixture used to settle a new bathtub so he completely cracked our brand new bathtub as soon as he stepped back inside to hammer up the green sheet. Another guy arrived one day & for some unknown reason, decided on his own to grind off the texture in our newly retextured kitchen ceiling without properly cordoning-off the rest of the house with plastic sheeting so that when we got home that evening there was a thick layer of white dust everywhere… We ended up having to push forward with Isaac Oak at Designed to Fit just to get him to finish the rest of the work he agreed to – but we got into a shouting match at one point because we were both so frustrated — which is NOT a good way to continue a working relationship. In the end, several months later, Isaac Oak had the temerity to call & ask if he could come over & take pictures of «HIS» remodel. My response was no, since we had to subsequently hire several other contractors to either finish, or fix his remodeling work. So I have barely a 1 star recommendation for Designed to Fit; for the way it’s owner, Mr. Isaac Oak runs his business.

As a first time remodeler, I was nervous about the whole process. Isaac was SO patient and informative, and above all else, RELIABLE. In an industry that seems to be plagued with contractors who don’t show up on time, take forever to finish, etc… my kitchen was razed and rebuilt within three weeks. He is communicative, has followed up, and now we’ve hired him again for another project. He is NOT a discounted source, but he is fast, honest, and has a strong work ethic and lots of integrity. Every worker that represented his business was respectful, meticulous and diligent. Can’t imagine using anyone else.

We had an excellent experience working with Isaac and his Crew. We had them reface our kitchen. Issac came and measured, gave good ideas. We visited his sho room and with in a day we made our decision. We made several changes along the way, Isaac was very accommodating and did not nickel and dime onthe cost. We have a very large kychne, Once the cabinets arrived job was done swiftly and emaculately and we felt the crew took pride in their work. We will recommend without any reservations

I was looking for a decent contractor(kitchen), who is not cheap, but can provide high technical and customer service. Mr. Isaac Oak did a good job only during his assessment, presentation and project planning. He said that even though I buy all the materials myself(kitchen cabinets, granite counter-top and plumbing) he supports me all the way and comes with me to every store to help pick the right materials and even scheduled the dates and times when we both would visit the stores. So even though his quote for the project was the highest among all I got, I signed the contract, since I really needed help in choosing the right materials and equipment. A few straight points to keep the long story short: — He failed to come to the store to help me(he needed to take care of another client). — He confirmed(I called from the store) that the materials that I bought were right including the sink(which later turned out to be wrong). — I delivered the materials to the property and left him the key(unoccupied property). — While he was working on the project for several days he failed to call and tell me that the sink was wrong so he cut the counter-top the wrong way(to fit the wrong sink). — After the project was done and I explained him the issue, the only thing he kept saying is: «you have to pay me now». — So I ended up paying again for the new sink and the new counter-top and paid again for the labor to re-do the project. Isaac’s arguments(just quoting with no comments): — «you did not pay me to go to the store with you» — «I also need to feed my family» — Quote from the Isaac’s e-mail: «you cut out of the original contract most of the things that needed to be done, depriving my company from potential profit, making this job so bare bones… Rather ruthlessly and it was all about saving money — for you.» Bottom line: does not keep the promises(verbal and written), very low customer service skills, unprofessional. If you need an honest contractor please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

They did demolition for my small kitchen. If you need something fast but expensive, this is your guy.
