First let me say I LOVE Breakfast foods so I was excited to go a place that is only breakfast and hopefully try something a bit different. I was disappointed. You first walk in to a cashier«wall» with advertisements, cards, and other promotional items for other businesses. Once you get past that it opens up to a standard restaurant with tables, booths, and a bar style seating. I was greeted quickly and seated promptly. The restaurant wasn’t full but it wasn’t empty. Upon looking at their menu, I was first hit with a page of Pancakes and a page of Omelettes with a smattering of other items but you can tell where the focus is which doesn’t matter to me because I came to the«Original Pancake House» right? What did get me on the menu was the comments that they put in, next to some of the items, like«YUM», «Delicious». This to me is not very professional and actually turned me off those items because who is saying that. Others may disagree but that is the impact on me. Server was quick in getting me the water I requested but when I requested another min to decide, because the menu does have a lot of items on it, he seemed to have forgotten about me. I ended up waiting over 10 minutes for him to come back and take my actual order. The food came out quickly and as ordered. Personal preference but I was not happy with the Omlette filling(Green Pepper, Ham, and Cheese) because the items where chopped into large pieces and I would have preferred smaller pieces or diced so I could enjoy all the flavors together instead of getting a mouth of Green Pepper then a mouth of Ham etc. In closing, my experience isn’t negative nor is it positive. This place is Average. No different then an IHOP or Denny’s. So I will continue my search for an Independent Breakfast place to frequent.

STAYAWAY!!! Wow. Disappointment is a huge understatement. I was very excited to come here, because I love the franchise, my folks go to one in Texas all the time and the one in Washington I frequented is excellent. But it is waaaaay overpriced, not clean, food is far below average in quality, and the servers look like they hate life :( Never going back again.

Stopped for breakfast after long time between visits. Food is good but considerable overpriced, IMHO. $ 16.50 for an omelette not a good value. Got pancakes OR hash brown, not both. Better and cheaper alternatives in Fremont such as Country Kitchen on Mowry of Chubbies on Fremont Bl.

Had a very plain vegetarian sandwich. I’ve had tons of vegetarian sandwiches so for $ 11.99 I was expecting to be blown away with this one. Sadly that wasn’t the case. My sandwich was disappointing. My husband did enjoy his pancakes tho. Anyways. We will not be returning. The pricing is ridiculous and the staff isn’t that amazing. The general manager was kind tho.

Food is good but man it took over an hour just to get our food after ordering. I understand it’s Mother’s Day but they should have been more prepared for it. My party consisted of 2 adults and 2 young kids. The table next to us was a larger party that sat down 30 minutes after us and was served their food right after ours came out. That was unfair. We would always come here but this was definitely the last time.

I absolutely love eating here, but because the bill racks up to be quite expensive, I only eat here on rare occasions! Service can be slow at times also, but it’s not bad enough to complain about it. The servers are all quite friendly and nice, and what I love is about them is they enjoy interacting with the kids too! Items I would really recommend are: 1.) Fresh Fruit Crepes — I personally ask for red berries only(: 2.) Dutch Baby — Takes an extra 15 min to make though, so be prepared to wait if you order this 3.) Corned Beef Hash Happy eating!

Just left this place and am little unhappy. The food was ok but nothing special. What really got to me was that the server wasn’t the kindest person. She seemed in a bad mood. I can understand that this happens as us customers can be difficult. It was pretty obvious though that she was not in the best mood. To top it off she never brought us our hash browns and only checked in on us once. When I mentioned that we never got our hash browns all the lady told us is that we weren’t charged. The thing is that we were charged as that is part of the meal. I give it 2 stars because the lady bussing was working really hard yet still made sure my coffee mug was full. She was fantastic. Unfortunately I will not return here.

This worked just fine for a quick breakfast to kill time while having an oil change and new tires installed next door. I was the first person in as best I can tell and so I never had to wait too long for anything. I ordered the Dutch baby and it was really good and well cooked. This does take some time to make(20 mins) but I had the time to kill. Prices here do seem to be a smidge on the high side for this kind of fairly typical diner food, but not outrageous. I would definitely return.

This is my favorite OPH, outside of my first and most memorable spot in Oahu. Service is fast and friendly; lines are moved easily and swiftly and it has a great energy!

Everything about this place is SLOW! From waiting to be seated, getting a waitress to take your order, getting your silverware, your food and the bill! There is even a line to pay the bill. Seems like there is one rude waitress for the entire place and probably one cook. The food is mediocre although the pancakes are okay. There was also a lipstick stain on my spoon. Not coming back.

Every original pancake house has it’s own spin on things and this place is no different. The place looks like it used to be an IHOP, but thankfully doesn’t taste like one. The pancakes and syrup tastes like the branch I like in Southern California so it brings me back to some nostalgia. I wasn’t loving the cornbeef and hash though because the cornbeef looked like chopped up ham and their hash looked like big chunks of potatoes. It didn’t even look like Irish Cornbeef or cornbeef from the can, but I let it be because the staff was nice. Otherwise, the mushroom omelet was just as good as what I’ve had in other branches. Atleast I know what to get next time.

I was pleasantly surprised by selection of pancakes and waffles. They have so many options you need to go many times to try them all. I tried the blueberry pancakes and LOVED the sweet butter! There’s a few more I’d like to try next time. The caramel latte wasn’t strong so I don’t recommend it.

Perhaps I got there on a bad day for them. The food was not to my liking. I had a simple ham and cheese omelette. It was definitely huge, however it was over cooked. The ham was oddly tasteless as well. It came with a side of buttermilk pancakes that I hoped would save the day. Alas this was not to be. They tasted like they were cooked on hamburger grease. On the upside the glass of milk was cold and fresh. $ 22 for a simple omelette. No thank you. The only real positive is the staff was friendly and prompt.

I don’t go out for breakfast much– but when we do, we like this old local fave. Owner is super nice & certain things are hard to find elsewhere such as potato pancakes w apple sauce & sour cream & that gorgeous Dutch baby. Our favorite is the fruit crêpe. The omelettes are good not great & I’m too much of a coffee snob to have even tried their coffee(I’ll go down the street to Peets) Sure it’s a bit dated, but as an occasional outing we’re happy w this place.

Came in on a Sunday early afternoon and the place was empty except for one group. Maybe it was because the credit card machine was down but I guess I’ll never know why… I would agree with most folks on Unilocal that the interior of the place is pretty old and is in need of a remodel but hey if the foods good who really cares. Menu wise, they do specialize in pancakes, waffles, omelets, typical stuff you would expect from a pancake house. For us we tried the sausage patty breakfast and the Canadian bacon breakfast with pancakes and hash browns. Food came out pretty quick and I would say the portions are pretty good. Nothing that really blew me away, but it was good and pretty full filling. Price wise, breakfast plates were around 11 to 13 dollars… kind of expensive in my opinion for the portions they gave. Overall, the price is a little too high for the portions, and although the breakfast was good, it’ll probably be awhile before we eat here again. If you’re looking for an alternative cheap breakfast in that area I’d recommend nations.

I guess this place is a chain/franchise but this one doesn’t look the part. It is kinda dated and the inside marketing and style of service better fits a mom/pop shop. But that isn’t why I feel this place doesn’t rock though. As other reviewers have already mentioned, this place is kinda spendy for breakfast. Nothing outrageous, but a breakfast here with coffee is about $ 15ish. Factor in a breakfast mate and we’re talking $ 30+. And remember, this is a dated, not stylish atmo. So huh?! If you come here and don’t like pancakes, then you must have larger issues. Their buttermilk is okay, it is light and crisps a bit on their griddle. Their stand out for me is their Buckwheat. It has a nutty, toasted flour feel that I feels goes hand in hand with soft butter a smidgen of syrup. It is so right for me that I honestly haven’t tried any others. Though the Apple Pancake has seriously teased me. When paired with eggs and your choice of breakfast meat, it is quite the quintessential salty/sweet breakfast pairing. This is why I come here. Not for the ambiance, not for the coffee, not for the service and definitely not for the pricing. But for the occasional indulgence, it is A-OK. But why do you close at 2 pm? Are you discriminating my night owlish sleeping habits? Sometimes I don’t even wake up til 2pm and guess what? It is breakfast time then. Which explains why I only visit you once/twice per year.

This place looks like a dump from the outside. I’ve been told that the Original Pancake House is actually a decent chain, so I’m not sure what happened here. Inside, it was actually a decent diner. Service was a bit slow though. The prices here seem a little high — two eggs any style for $ 4.60? A box of eggs costs like $ 2, for crying out loud. Anyway. The portion sizes are pretty good considering you’re paying like $ 10+ for a breakfast meal. I thought the food was rather mediocre, nothing to write home about.
