Used to be Uncle Joe’s Liquors not so great but now under new ownership and they really mean it – discounted prices on all types of booze in a open clean and mellow store setting. Makes me want to toast them with cheap liquor.

I have to hand it to the new owners of this place. When I went there right after they switched, their inventory was pretty lame and the place was kinda desolate.
Well, they’ve really improved. When I drove up, I could scarcely find a parking space and it’s clear why. It’s much cleaner (still a liquor store), the guy who was working there was very friendly, and they had OMG pinatas!
They’ve really upgraded their selection of beer. I mean, what kind of Cal student would I be if I didn’t have a soft spot for Pyramid? The best wine they have (IMO of course) is Fetzer Merlot. Everything else is generic dive bar fare (ya know… Beringer, Mondavi, etc.) That’s right Mondavi, I called you dive bar!
Anyway, I don’t think wine is their main target audience anyway. They also have the standard things that make liquor stores fun… y’know, like a big thing of beef jerky, a freezer with icecreamy treats for kids who somehow end up in a liquor store to beg for, and random candy.
