We really liked working with Steve and would use him again for bigger jobs in the future. We wanted to open up a window in our wall between the kitchen and living room to get more light in and open up the space, and Steve did it in only a day for a very reasonable price when other contractors wouldn’t even give us a quote. He is a very friendly guy and can guide you through your project if you need help or suggestions. I would definitely use him again in the future.

Steve Ivanovic is a hidden gem of a contractor. «Hidden» because he has been a successful bathroom, kitchen, electrical and general contractor for many years, by word of mouth referrals only, with no advertising or branding needed. He remodeled my kitchen several years ago, and recently fixed drywall, installed new recessed and pendant lighting, remodeled two of my bathrooms, and is in the midst of remodeling my master bathroom. Steve’s Tile and Construction Co. team includes Antonio and Goyko. Like Steve, they are reliable, conscientious and courteous, and always work with integrity. Steve is a true craftsman who takes pride in the quality of his work. He arrives promptly in the morning(almost always on my driveway 10 – 15 minutes before the appointed time with the day’s materials already unloaded), works patiently in figuring out details with the homeowner, and is always courteous and respectful. Steve’s rates are reasonable, and he does not charge additional for many minor extra tasks that enter the project midway. When inevitable unforeseen issues arise such as late delivery of materials or the homeowner changing requirements midway, there is no drama. He calmly assesses the situation and presents options to the homeowner, without complaint or blame. Although Steve is not a designer, he offers pragmatic design recommendations based on his many years of construction experience. Some of his recommendations involve extra work on his part, but he wants the finished project to look right versus rushing through the job to make quick money. Here are a couple examples of Steve going above and beyond:(1) He noticed a blemish in a Hansgrohe shower fixture we had purchased from an online vendor, and took the initiative to call the manufacturer directly to request a replacement part, even though it meant more work for him to replace the part at a later date. I hadn’t even noticed the imperfection.(2) My husband and I had mixed communications on the location of one light and one light switch. As a result, we changed our minds after Steve had already done part of the work. When I asked him to move the locations, he did so without complaint and without extra charge, even though it was not his fault.(3) During the time he was remodeling one bathroom, we had issues with flickering power in other rooms of the house. Steve was instrumental in trouble-shooting the issue to a faulty circuit breaker, taking considerable time, and the source of the issue turned out to have nothing to do with his remodeling work. Yet Steve did not charge us any extra.(4) A corner of our bathroom wall was built crooked, and putting the metal rail to align with the crooked wall would have been noticeably crooked next to the shower door. I was fine with putting the metal straight which meant it would not be flush with the wall, but it would have only been visible from the second story window looking inside(a bird’s view!) Steve decided he wanted the wall straight on a Friday evening, and went to the hardware store on his own time and money to fix the wall early Saturday morning before the drywall guy arrived to texture the wall. That is true integrity and a high bar for quality, even higher than the customer needed! As I have already hired Steve’s Tile and Construction Co. for six home construction projects, I would hire Steve and his team again in a heartbeat for my next remodeling project.
