Drove through Fresno on a road trip. Food is a solid 5 star. Everything was very good, should definitely get the Kashke bademjoon as an appetizer. Down a star because there’s a significant extra charge to sharing a main course which was not mentioned on the menu nor by the owner.

This place was«The Bomb». If you want family type service this is the place to come. Everything we ate was cooked to perfection. The hummus was to die for and the lentil soup really, really good. I was afraid my husband was going to eat the bowl. What can I say about the dessert? You have to try the ice cream. It’s «The BOMB». We will be going back. This place is a keeper. It’s small and cozy and very clean.

Me and my bro and sister in law were at the end of our road trip heading back to our home in San Diego, however we had to take a rest in Fresno for the night and we’re starving. We found Diana’s restaurant and saw the great reviews so naturally we had to try it out since we love Persian food. I have to say the food was delicious, I ordered the barg kebab which was exactly how I like it. The dessert was deliciously amazing. I particularly liked their homemade pistachio ice cream, I was in heaven. All their food is made fresh and my sister in law was going to order a lamb dish when the very friendly and welcoming owner told her about their lamb chops they happened to have fresh and are making as a special for the day. The service was great and super friendly, they make you feel like family. I give this place 6 stars out of 5.

Wow, is all I can say! Who would’ve thought you could find such beautifully cooked authentic tasting food in this location?! I was beyond amazed! First off, the ambience was very nice. It was warm and inviting. The music playing in the background helped set the mood. The owner was so kind and welcoming. We began by ordering the hummus. It came with warm, very freshly baked pita bread. Yummy! We asked for shish kebob, not being familiar with this place. The lady told us the lamb chops were her favorite, so we decided to give them a try. We both chose a salad to go with our main course. It was very good, and had really fresh testing dressing. When the main course came, we were not disappointed. The lamb chops were absolutely superb! They were cooked to perfection and delicately seasoned. We chose the bulghour pilaf and I’m thrilled that we did. It was so delicious! This dish reminded me of what my Armenian mother would have cooked for me. It was a wonderful meal and I highly recommend Diana’s! It’s the bomb ;)

Was driving through from Southern California and stopped because we were craving a Gyro. So glad we stopped! Everything we ordered was great. The Sish Kebab plate with the bulgar pilaf will be in my dreams for weeks to come, and the chicken Sish sandwich(gyro) was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The staff was extremely friendly, the service prompt, and the atmosphere welcoming. We will be back again!

Food was great. Started with the hummus and had the joojeh kebab and koobideh. Absolutely some of the most attentive and polite service.

Just wanted to update my review of Diana’s. After almost 4 years it is still incredible. Maybe even better than before. The Persian food is constantly delicious and the hospitality is even better. I still love their koobideh and their flank steak is really good too. Also, as a business owner I appreciate their catered lunch specials and other catering. We’ve ordered their lunch special numerous times and it always fills us up and leaves enough for seconds– which you will want! The healthy Mediterranean appetizers are a great fit for the healthy food we try to serve at our wellness center. They are always a hit with our clients and patients. Diana continues to serve great food by good people! Keep it up!

This review is LONG overdue! My husband and I have eaten at Diana’s for years. When we moved to Clovis 12 years ago we were on the lookout for great Persian cuisine. We had tried several other restaurants. We discovered Diana’s and have enjoyed the fresh, fabulous food ever since and in a SPOTLESSCLEAN environment! Best Mediterranean food in the Central Valley and rivals Persian restaurants in San Jose and Los Angeles areas. Some our favorite dishes at Diana’s are Beef Koobideh, Joojeh Chicken Kabob, Salads, Lamb Shanks, Lentil soup, Yogurt and Shallots appetizer(Mast o Museer?) The homeade Pistachio/Rose ice cream is a MUSTHAVE!!! Mohammad and his family lovingly prepare all dishes with the freshest ingredients and begin and end your dining experience with efficient, friendly, welcoming service. Diana’s deserves SIX Stars!

We are thankful of Unilocal for showing us this great restaurant. I ordered chicken kebob(joojeh) which was more than perfect. My wife also ordered lamb and ground kebobs(sultani) and she was out of the world with the delicious taste of them. Great location, super friendly staff, and most importantly, very clean place. Finally don’t miss the ice cream… I will undoubtedly stop by Diana’s whenever pass around Fresno.

I’m from out of town and the food was good. I ordered kabobs and the where ok. Nothing grand the lentil soup was delicious. The basmati was bland. However the man that took our orders what I think the owner. A very awkward and slow moving man but he took and interest into our tastes when I said I enjoyed the yogurt drink and gave us a free rose and saffron ice cream. He was was sweet but weird. It’s worth a try.

Very small restaurant in a shopping center. Only one waiter on duty in the 6 pm hour on Saturday, so he was kept hopping, though he seemed very much on top of his errands. I ordered the lamb shank. A small shank, on a plate, covered with a light tomatoey sauce with well-stewed but still stringy vegetables, plus a second, equally large plate, with rice. I wasn’t sure how the two were supposed to be put together, if at all, so I ate them separately. The lamb was, however, very tender, really deliciously cooked. I’d come back here again if I had that craving.

I met friends for dinner and the food was good, but what left a soar taste in my mouth was the hostess/owner. She didn’t realize that I was Hispanic and proceeded to tell of her not so flattering stories about her dealings with the Mexican population. I am not sure where the superiority of people come from. I applaud those who trumpet the success of their culture, but how that leads to the conclusion that those successes represent some greater worth is truly beyond me. I cannot think of a single culture that hasn’t had a great contributor to modern society. The friend that I accompanied was Persian and is one of the most gracious women that I know. My final thought to the owners; you’re in the people business… treat all people with the respect that they deserve. Put aside the bigotry, and count your blessings!

Celebrating my birthday… We wanted a quiet intimate place to dine. Not sure if lunch and weekends are as quiet, but on a weekday night it was exactly what we had hoped. For starters we enjoyed the Hummus with pita and the Tomato, Cucumber & Cheese plate. We had fun piling our pita with each of the aforementioned goodies. Veggies were fresh and crisp, hummus had excellent texture and flavor. Our side dishes came out while we were still eating our appetizers. My salad was simple yet tasty, hubby got the lentil soup which was amazing! It was perfectly balanced between lentils, veggies and broth. The broth was superb and obviously house made. Main entrée for the hubby was the Sultani(filet mignon and koobideh) with side of rice, half Armenian and Persian. Both meats were tender and juicy. He loved every bite. I had the Chicken & Shish Kabobs. The lamb was seriously THEBEST lamb I have ever eaten! It was flavored so well and every piece was tender. Chicken was very tasty as well, the lemon and saffron flavors were subtle yet obvious. To end the evening we enjoyed the unique Persian ice cream. We were told the recipe has not been changed for 200 years! It was a mix of floral, nutty and creamy goodness. Also we were given the Napolean as a birthday treat, while hard to fork off a bite, the layers were flaky and the cream in the bottom layers was light and delicious! We will be back to this gem of a place whenever we are craving Mediterranean delicacies. You will not be disappointed at Diana’s.

The lentil soup was so good. Yes y’all… lentils! I’m not a big bean/lentil/legume fan, especially when I’m on a date, lol… but we both finished our soup! The salad was good as well. I had Chicken Koobedeh, and I highly recommend it!!! Everything was good! And you will leave stuffed! We had NO room for dessert, and it was offered to us. :) This is a great casual spot, as well as a date spot. Normal to quiet ambiance. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and beer. I had a good beer there, I think it was Czech? But I could be wrong. If you’ve never had Armenian food or Mediterranean food, definitely give Diana’s a try. :)

Delicious, fresh Persian/Armenian food. Owners are so friendly and welcoming! Started off with a tasty hummus and bread with platter of crisp cucumbers, tomatoes and original feta slices and olives. Chicken and beef kebabs were tender and juicy paired with excellently roasted tomatoes. Basmati rice was fluffy and perfect:) Had to make room for some warm and sweet baklava. Definitely would recommend as the go to place for Persian/Armenian food in Fresno. Food, atmosphere, service — 5 stars!

Came here for the very first time last week. I wanted to try something different and I am glad that I came here. We got there a little early and they did not open until 5pm. As soon as they opened, we went in and one of the employees was still sweeping the floor. The place inside was like a sauna… very hot!!! I think they could def afford to turn the AC on, I cant imagine how hot it is back in the kitchen. This place is really small, since I had never been here I did not know what to expect. We were able to sit anywhere, since we were the only people there. The poor guy that was sweeping seemed like he could barely understand English and had a problem understanding a request that we had. We were greeted by an older dark haired gentleman that was very nice. He got our drinks and came back to check to see if we wanted to order an app. Since I had never been here before, I did not know what to get and so he told me about some of the items. I settled on the Cucumber yogurt w/mint. It was really good. I am NOT a fan of cucumber, but I was there to try something new and it didn’t disappoint. There were chunks of cucumber in the yogurt, but I just pushed that to the side. They serve warm flat bread w/the yogurt dip. The flavor was really good and I loved the taste of the mint. I ordered the Falafel sandwich… and I wasn’t too sure about it, as I have NEVER had anything falafel related. I was pleasantly surprised. They had 3 huge falafel balls and they were fried to perfection. On the sandwich was lettuce, tomato and more of the yogurt sauce. I have nothing else to compare this sandwich to, but this was really good, had a lot of flavor and I am really glad that I tried it. Next was the Beef Gyro. I could have done w/out this. I did not really enjoy it. For me the meat was too thin and had a crispiness to it and the meat just seemed strange to me. It was also served in the pita bread w/lettuce, tomato and sauce. I took a few bites, but I don’t think I will ever order this again. Up next was the Barg Kebab… and it was oh sooooooo gooooooood!!! When I go back, I am def ordering this again. The meat was cooked to perfection and was so tender. It was served w/your choice of rice, and I chose the Basmati rice. Now I saw in another review where they mentioned that the basmati rice had no flavor. I was hesitant to order it after seeing that review, but I ordered it anyways. While that reviewer was right about the flavor, I didn’t mind. I enjoyed the rice w/my bites of the kebab, and it acted as a nice filler. The service was great and I saw a lot of people come in that were obviously regulars based on their interaction w/staff. All walks of life, white, black, armenian etc. You know the food is great when you get all kinds of cultures to come in and eat, I love places like that. I will def come back here, especially for the Barg, and to try some new things. I also tried 3 of their desserts… Baklava, Napoleon and the Persian Ice Cream. The Baklava was nothing special, although it tasted good. The Napoleon was very yummy, perhaps my favorite out of the trio. It had a great flaky texture and the perfect amount of sweet to it. The persian ice cream was perhaps my least favorite, it just had a weird flavor that I am not used to. I think the owner said one of the flavors in it was primrose… just not for me. I would def recommend this place to my friends and anyone interested in trying something new. My only recommendation to the owners/management now that summer is here, you should consider cranking up the AC #flagproof
