El Michoacano

I was brought to this little spot for a work-​related meeting. I decided to come back because their beans are good. As a Mexican, I know good beans. This is really good authentic Mexican food, a must try.

First off, the place is decorated so cute. Lol but we sat ourselves, and we’re greeted right away. I ordered a Michelada and it was PERFECT. Not too salty, not too spicy,…just right. My mom ordered the shrimp fajitas salad and I ordered the carnita plate. We figured since it was our first time there, we would order different stuff so we can share. The food was out QUICK, which was awesome. And OMG they fill those plates up! Mom’s salad was fresh and so full of flavor that she didn’t need her ranch dressing. My plate was amazing as well. The best part about my experience? As I was eating, I saw a homeless man through the window, digging through the trash can just outside the restaurant. He doesn’t find anything so he proceeds to walk away. Then all of a sudden a waitress from the restaurant comes outside and hands him a To Go bag of food and a drink. It was so beautiful to watch this man’s face light up because just a second ago, he didn’t know where his next meal was coming from. Great experience, great service, great food.

In the past, my co-​workers and I frequently had take-​out for lunch from this place until we kept running into issues with a particular waitress there. I don’t even know why we keep coming back, but we always craved El Michoacano’s shrimp burritos. However, with each visit, there appears to be less and less shrimp, and the burritos seem to be getting smaller.
Today, there were four of us who wanted lunch from this place, so naturally, this would require a total of four shrimp burritos. One of my co-​workers and I drove there to order and to pick them up. With our luck, we had the same waitress. When our orders were finally ready, the burritos, ONE bag of chips, and ONE little tub of salsa were all in the same package. I asked the waitress for more bags of chips, but this chip nazi said that we would have to pay extra for them. I stated that we had four burritos, which were paid for separately. She responded back by saying that for each order, there is one bag of chips. This doesn’t even make any sense. If you did the math, this one bag of chips we received split among four burrito eaters would equate to an average of 5 chips per person. Needless to say, they don’t want our business and we are not going back there.

Super fast service, it was maybe three minutes from the time of order to the time there was steaming hot deliciousness set in front of me!
I ordered the chili relleno with corn tortillas, my boy friend had the super chili verde burrito, and we split two Assada tacos.
Everything was amazing I just wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce that was on the relleno. Regardless I plan on coming back and trying something new.
Also huge portions, so plan on taking some home!

In a city like Fresno, CA, Mexican food restaurants are a dime a dozen. This place stands out among the rest by far! Very authentic Mexican food. Never bland! Good quick service. Clean place. Try their fish taco’s or Micheladas. As far as flavor… I’d say this place is the best sit down Mexican food in the valley not just Fresno CA.

The tacos here are some of the best I’ve ever had. The asada and pastor have so much flavor and they use good quality meat. Nice atmosphere too. Clean, lots of character and great service. I’ll definitely start recommending this place.

Very good food, huge servings, and very good prices. Customer service was good too. Only draw back was the Spanish soap opera playing in the TV and no subtitles. Couldn’t quite follow along but understood some of it. Should have just played music instead.

Tried out the nachos with my wife and son. Excellent! It is a little pricey, but the food looked great. We will go back again and give them a shot. Look for an update later.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Cheap beer. Great décor. Everything about this place is good. Great prices to. Ill be going back over and over.

Food tasted good and was priced well. Service was mediocre and they were stingy on chips and salsa.

One word, WOW! This place is the real deal! I can’t believe I have never ate here? The wife was craving Mexican food tonight 7/​21, so we decided to take our neighbor’s advice to eat here. She vowed it would blow our socks off and well it did!
Experience:
Tonight we were immediately greeted and the waitress told us to sit anywhere, which was nice; no hostess. Our waitress was very pleasant and immediately brought us water. Complementary chips and salsa was provided. The salsa was very good and HOT (you’ve been warned). I was torn tonight between shrimp enchilada’s or Sopes (I love Seafood). I asked the waitress, which was better and she highly recommended the Sopes. She finalized my decision. My wife ordered 2 tacos de «Al Pastor» and a small shrimp cocktail with extra crackers.
Food:
To continue with my first comment, this place is the real deal! I am Hispanic and used to eat Mexican everyday at home and this food taste very closely to Mom’s home coking.
Sopes perfectly crispy and moist. It was topped with lettuce, sour cream, salsa, queso Mexicano, red onion and of course the Asada. The Asada wasn’t your typical boring grey meat. It was grilled to perfection and had a ton of flavor.
The tacos Al pastor were slow cooked to perfection and meat not greasy like other restaurants Al pastor. Our shrimp cocktail was delicious, not to mention nice chilled glass it was served in. (Hate hot shirmp cocktail) I love that they literally crammed as many shrimp as they could in the glass, 5 Stars in itself!
I decided to return on Saturday ⁸⁄₁₅ to ensure this 5 Star review as legit, and boy was I right. Perfect experience as the first. Definitely will be back:)

I like the place, great atmosphere, good food. I expected more traditional food from the region of Michocan but the name is just a name not a specialty. I still would recommend it, good family restaurant, good food lots of flavor. And I only gave it 4 stars because no real Michocano food from the region of Mexico.

Overall the food was ok… nothing really special about it. We tried the micheladas but we’ve had better. Not a bad place if your options are limited.

Contemporary atmosphere with traditional Mexican Food!

The food is not bad at all. Not sure how fresh it is since it came out right away. I gave 3 stars because the chips were stale, the salsa however is good. Also the tables and floors had crumbs. Had it at three stars changed it to two since I had to wait 20 mins for my check and then finally sent my son to get it. I won’t be coming back.

Love this Mexican food ! Lunch & dinner is the best time to grab a meal. I was very disappointed with the breakfast menu not much to chose from & wasn’t a good eats ! .(

It was ok. A shame as they have great potential. Place was dirty and the food was bland. Don’t get the Iced Tea, tastes like stale water was used to make it. The shrimp fajitas were made fast which in my book is a red flag. Good food takes a little time. Ultimately I was right, they were not good. Will not be coming back.

All I can say is… yes. Cerviche tostada de camaron and red beer. I can’t wait for my fajitas mixta!

El servicio rapido mientras no habia mucha gente pero, cuando llegaron mas clientes se tardaron en el cobro.

I had the fajitas mix plate, which included: steak, shrimp, and chicken on a sizzling plate; among other things.
Portions were great and, overall, I enjoyed dining here. With that said, i doubt i’d drive across town to eat here again, which is why i can’t justify 4 stars.
If i’m in the area, though, i may drop in. Again, food is pretty decent.
