Sushi Day

I went here last week with my mother. I ordered the OMG roll. It was very delicious and the portion size was generous. The prices were cheaper than most places which is a plus. My mom also loved her roll and we shared the egg rolls which were really good. One thing I would say, they need another waitress during lunch time. There was only one and it was pretty busy so our service was slow. I would recommend this place to all sushi lovers out there.

I came here looking for sushi and ended up enjoying the best pork dish that I’ve ever had. The Sweet and Spicy Pork was absolutely fantastic. If the juiciest pork tenderloin and the highest quality bacon had a glorious child, the product would be what was plated and set before me. I seldom spend the time to review on Unilocal,but this dish is definitely worth the wait, price, and praise that I have spent on it. Were I more eloquent, I would compose a great Ode or even an aria to sing its glory.
The sushi was good as well, but the star of the meal was the Sweet and Spicy Pork. I highly recommend it.

This place was great! Very attentive service even though they had a huge party of over 20 people. Sat at the sushi bar and the sushi makers were very friendly and attentive to me. Ordered the avocado bomb and it was a meal within its self.

Great sushi restaurant, great food, great service! We love this hidden jewel. The food is great. Love going there for lunch, the sushi is fresh they have Sapporo on tap.

I’ve seen the service at its fastest and its slowest. Always good. The sushi would keep me coming back even if poor service was around. The sushi chefs are fast and very knowledgeable at the bar, and cheap beer and karaōke on Saturdays makes for good entertainment. It looks like a little hole in the wall but every specialty roll comes with the most delicious fish. I’ve tried a lot of places but nothing has me coming back like Sushi Day!

Good service, good food… great place for a quick lunch. The potato salad in the bento boxes is the bomb! And I can day that because I hate potato salad. Does that make me un-​American?

I would have given it one star but I had two very different experiences here. Went for dinner once with friends and it was decent. Went again with my mom for lunch because she wanted to use her coupon. It was so hot we were dripping sweat. The food was lousy. I was sick later. Service was very slow. I won’t go here again.

Came here last night for dinner and was majorly disappointed (even by Fresno standards.) The table we sat at was not clean and didn’t have soy sauce. The waitress brought menus and water promptly but things went downhill after that.
I’ve been here once before and ordered a bento box and during that first experience, it was great! …Ordering the same thing this second visit was a mistake. I get that when restaurants are busy, things happen but undercooked tempura batter should never happen. The shrimp tempura that came with my box was cooked on one side but the side underneath was raw batter and the rest of the veggie tempura was oily and unappealing.
I immediately spit that out. I’m not one to make a scene and I would’ve discreetly inform the waitress of my concern but she didn’t come around for a while so I just moved on to the rest of my food which was below mediocre. By the time the waitress came around she dropped off our check and I didn’t bother to complain because I was over it. I get that restaurants get busy but I would’ve gladly waited a while longer for the food to be cooked and prepared properly.

This is my favorite sushi place ever!!! The service has been good every time I’ve come here. The price is really reasonable compared to other sushi places I’ve been. I loved everything I’ve tried but the avocado bomb and shrimp tempura crunch roll are a must!

Absolutely the best sushi place I love it. My husband and I took my mother and brother there they are on vacation here from Europe they really enjoyed the sushi and the service. Everything is fresh and clean and delicious. I want to thank the owner for personally checking on our table!

I honestly expected better but it was the only sushi place near by. We ordered take out omg rolls and when I opened it the rolls were squashed and the toppings were tipped over! Couldn’t they have used a bigger box? Sushi was ok but not worth my 14 dollars if you can find somewhere else

Sushi Day… I’m going to be as honest as possible, and unfortunately, sometimes honesty isn’t what people want to hear, but need to hear it. Years ago, I used to love this place. Their food was good, pricing was on par for sushi, and I never found myself waiting to dine like you find at a lot of sushi places in that general area of town. However during my last visit, I was directly involved in a domestic dispute between the owner and his wife. It was very unfortunate, because as much as I enjoyed there food, it would have been impossible for me to continue to support someone like that. It’s been years now, and I am unsure if the establishment is under the same management. Overall, good food, but I cannot take the risk of going back to support the establishment.

All I can say is that this place has the WORST customer service I have ever seen. Don’t get me wrong, the sushi is great, but the waitress’s are RUDE!!! I would rather pay a little more across the street and be treated with a little more respect. By the way, don’t ask for extra soy sauce, then the attitude really comes out in the waitresses! Won’t be back!!!

Service left much to be desired and the sushi was average at best. Waitress forgot our rolls at the counter and when we finally got them the disappointment only increased due to their poor quality. Do yourself a favor and keep looking.

Sushi Day is by far one of the best sushi spots in town. And best believe me, I am a sushi connoisseur :) what was I thinking going to Wasabi all these years.
Every roll here is so goooood!!! My favorite roll is the Hot Mama, yum yum! Saturday night drink special, buy one get one Sapporo. Thumbs up!

First of all, this was my first time eating here and I was in a hurry so I ordered the teriyaki chicken lunch special to go. For 9.99 I recieved a fair amount of teriyaki chicken slices, tempura, a very small portion of dalad, and a cup of miso soup. Everything tasted good and the price was right for the portions.
Aside from the food, the restaurant is a lot bigger inside then it looks on the outside. The staff was very friendly and took my order quickly. I did have to wait about 17 minutes for my order but I got there during the lunch rush so Im not complaining.
Wheter or not I will be back is questionable because the food did not stand out amongst other Japanese restaurants of the same caliber and im not crazy about sushi.

I’ve reviewed this place about a few years ago. I’ve recently dined in at this place cause my friends like the $ 5 pitcher specials on Saturday. The food is A OKAY. Nothing special. Nothing fancy. Just plain. Pretty forgettable. The prices werent bad. Pretty similar to Sakura.

It’s a shame, because the food here was actually pretty good but the overall service/​management here on my recent visit was just too horrible, that the food alone wouldn’t be enough to save my rating for this place.
Came here recently, and should have noticed the unclean tables and the several customers who were constantly looking over their shoulders for their waitresses, as a bad sign.
The sad thing is, the place wasn’t even that busy, but we still had to wait 20 mins or so to get seated. Once we did get seated, the table was still filthy from the previous patrons. When we finally placed our orders, it took forever and everything was just a huge mess. They completely forgot about our appetizers, which we had to cancel. Our entrees came out in like 15 mins separately (my gfs raw sushi was so basic, but still took nearly 20 – 25 mins to come out). We weren’t the only ones getting sorry service as well, since you can overhear the tables to the left and right of us either cancelling orders since they took so long, or complaining about how long it would take to get their check, food, etc. We also saw several tables that were still unclean, and sushi still SERVED to tables that clearly were already empty since the customers have already left due to the wait. What a waste!
This place seems to have been open for a long while, so there’s just no excuse at all for how it was managed. It’s not even big and it wasn’t even too busy on our visit, I don’t get how they can be so incompetent.
As I said, the food was still good though. The sweet and spicy pork, kinda tasted like filipino tocino in a way which I liked. My gfs sushi was good as well, but this visit will definitely be our last!

This is my spot for sushi hands down. Love the atmosphere and the karaōke they host.

The flavors are great and so is the customer service. Presentation is one of the best I’ve ever seen, the chefs are really gifted. For every $ 150 you spend they give you a $ 15 gift card for next time. Highly recommended!
