This post is long overdue! We had a wonderful honeymoon at Wildwood a couple summers ago. John and Michael were so kind and helpful, even booking us dinner reservations(they had the BEST recommendations). Breakfast was stellar, oh my goodness. It was peaceful and calm, with a couple lovely outdoor areas to relax and great ammenitie. We can’t wait to stay there again!

The only place we will stay now on the island! Michael and John are WONDERFUL and the B&B is beautiful, cozy, and just begs you to relax. The breakfasts were fantastic and we did spend a good deal of time hanging out in the wonderful library; playing games, watching the deer and looking out at the beautiful water views. The bed was very very comfortable and the rooms were well decorated and very inviting. Also, love love love all the traditional Hawaiian touches all over the place! We can’t wait to go back!

Owners(john and Michael) are super nice, friendly, helpful. The b&b sits about 7 minutes from Friday harbor and is easy to get to. It’s sits in several acres and they feed the deer so odds are you will see them in the AM The breakfast is fantastic. Gourmet style.- the best we’ve had in ages. Rooms are nice with nice pieces of furniture in the. One of the nicest things are the the free snacks. They also have a mini fridge of coke, diet coke and water. At night they make treats– usually cookies and they seem to go pretty fast. Place is pretty expensive but IMO worth it. The only negative thing is that the water(from a well) smelled odd. John(owner) confirmed that is treated and safe to drink. The drinking water they server down stairs Is filtered and they also have filtered water if you don’t want the well water.

I had read a lot of reviews of places before booking at the Wildwood Manor. I was looking for that special place to propose to my girlfriend. The views from the San Juan Room was awesome. I travel a lot and have been around the world and this is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. Mike and John are the perfect host and I can’t thank them enough for all the things they did from giving us a note on celebrating our engagement to having the ferry process down to a science. Plus the food they make is delicious. All I can say is the Mike and John made the whole experience magical. As great as the Wildwood Manor is that place only exist because of these gentlemen. Please go and enjoy your stay in this wonderful and amazing place!

This B&B is a wonderful get away. The good is amazing. The hosts are so friendly and knowledgable about the area. Happy to make you reservations at any restaurant for dinner. My husband proposed to me here and we try to go back every year to remember the special event in our lives. I had never been there before that, but it was the perfect proposal for me. They have deer that feed each morning on their property. You can see the water from some of the rooms. Such a cozy place. Has a very tasteful, subtle Hawaiian feel to the décor. Love love love this place! Wish I could go there more often!

Where do I begin with Wildwood Manor?! This place has everything: comfortable rooms, delicious and hearty breakfasts, wildlife all around, and Michael! My husband and I decided to honeymoon on San Juan Island, and the Wildwood Manor ended up being everything that we were looking for and then some. We stayed in the Decatur suite, which was our third floor home away from home. We had a view of the water and the forest – so peaceful! The bed was super comfy and there was a nice little TV area with a fluffy love seat as well as a decent sized bathroom well stocked with standard hotel toiletries. Also, the place was so clean. It was very easy to relax in this room. The breakfasts were fantastic every single day. On our final travel away from the island I commented, «but how are we supposed to start the day now??» We have been so spoiled! They will take dietary requests, but we were up for anything and were happy with the variety of foods for breakfast each day. From Danish aebelskivers(seriously!) to Belgian waffles to smoothies to sausage to bacon to the Wildwood egg scramble, everything was perfectly cooked and paired with fresh fruit and juice. Plus delicious coffee and tea, of course. It was hard to find places to eat on the island that could compare to such a wonderful breakfast! The grounds around Wildwood Manor were a little more woodsy than I expected, but that was a very good thing! The driveway seems intimidating but it was actually very easy to drive in a compact car, even in the rain. Plus once you get there, cute little deer will come to greet you. There are a few nice outdoor places to sit and relax, plus two hammocks. The water view can’t be beat! Goldie, the cat, is outdoor/indoor and he’ll let you pet him hello! He’s a sweetheart and was our adopted kitty for the week. We were also greeted the first day by a beautiful golden finch with a red head! Last but not least, Michael is what really made our stay so fantastic. He is everything that a gracious host should be. He makes you feel welcome, taken care of, and comfortable. He is professional but friendly – a perfect balance. He is an excellent chef, too! There are so many more wonderful things about Wildwood. The book of local menus to browse, the wall of really good DVD choices, the fridge stocked with soda and water, and those darn oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that I’m sure have attributed to a few extra pounds by now… It is a perfect place to relax, celebrate, and enjoy life. My husband and I are so happy that we chose to spend most of our honeymoon here, and we absolutely cannot wait until we are lucky enough to come back one day.

Nice locale. Good food but… cats and carpet. My wife has a problem with cats and there never was any info to suggest that there would be cats throughout the place. Now to real deal breaker; the requirement that no shoes be worn above the main level is preposterous. This also was not pitched in the info. Slippers were provided but the stairs are steep and thickly carpeted resulting in several slips and falls by us. If you are going to run a B & B be prepared to accept that people will walk on the carpets.

I love this place. Came here a couple of years ago with my husband for a long weekend. It wasn’t long enough! At the end of the 3 days, we wished we had a couple more to spend there. Michael was such a gracious host and their home is beautiful. It is set on a secluded wooded plot of land with lots of wildlife. Michael puts out feed for the deer, so I was entertained in the evening and the morning as the deer came to eat. The raccoon stealing food at night was entertaining too. Michael is such a thoughtful host and has a little mini fridge stocked with bottled water and tasty home made cookies are always out in case you get the munchies while hanging around the house. And the breakfasts! Oh my, the wonderful breakfasts. I was surprised to see panna cotta on the breakfast menu and asked Michael«Panna cotta for breakfast?» To which he mischievously smiled and replied«It’s got yogurt in it. That’s a breakfast food.» Well, it was the best panna cotta I’ve ever had. I’ll take it for breakfast anytime. Hubby and I will always think fondly about the lovely time we had at Wildwood Manor and we hope to go back someday. I can’t recommend it enough, you will be well taken care of!
