I recently moved up here and have not had a good Gyro in a long time. This is the first place we have gotten gyros from, and I see no need to go anywhere else. I got the Gyro Combo, and it has to be one of the best I have ever had. The pita was warm and soft, the meat has an amazing flavor to it, lots of tomato and onion and finally, a place that does not skimp on Tzatziki Sauce. I had to put it on a plate so I could cut it and eat it, there was no way you could hold it, it was huge. The fries were delicions. they were crispy on the outside, but still soft on the inside, and the seasoning was amazing.

This place is the shiznit. I’m a gyro junkie and I have had some good and some bad but this place was top shelf good. The cooks were friendly and the prices were average. The french fries are crazy good. You really need to go for lunch. Get the gyro to start or kafta kabob. Yum

Portions are huge, easily enough for 2. Large selection and fantastic food. So happy I found this little restaurant tucked in between a gas station and another store. Only been here once so far but I will be back!

I recently discovered this place while looking for delivery options to the office. So far in 2 orders the coworkers and I have tried the gyros, the Philly cheesesteak, the Greek salad, the cheese curds, and the baklava. All of it has been delicious with the gyros and the Philly cheesesteak receiving rave reviews and being the obvious standouts to date. Also of note, the fries that come with the combo baskets are amazing! Even «to go» in a styrofoam container they are crispy and have a yummy light seasoning on them.
Delivery time is a little longer than your usual 30 minutes for pizza or subs, but soooo worth the wait. Coworkers who didn’t order with us have asked to be notified the next time we order because of the delicious smells and the moans of pleasure as we were chowing on this yummy food. We will definitely be ordering again and plan on giving their catering services a try for our next luncheon.

Food is pretty good. A little expensive for a gas station restaurant but that’s just my opinion. I would also suggest they open up the kids menu with a few more options. It’s hit or miss with the customer service. The young woman there was extremely sweet and helpful but I’ve only seen her one time the other guys working there are pretty much jerks. And they up charge for everything. Unfortunately it is the only food place in the area and a million times better then maxwell street. I will keep going there for sure just wish they would have better value for the price point.

Walked in today and ordered the gyro plate. First let me say that the value for your money is very good. There was more food on the plate than I could eat. The gyro meat tasted good but it was on the dry side. I noticed that when I came in that the meat log was shut down. That means they had been idling my gyro meat for far too long in the warmer. I was disappointed with this since the gyro meat is the highlight of the meal. So perhaps better management of the meat log would be my suggestion. My only other suggestion would be to pack the salad separately for take out. It tends to soften in a plate with hot rice and gyros and a pack of heated pitas in top.

We ordered the plate for two. There was a ton of food but all of the meat was dry and over cooked. Lots of rice. Cucumber sauce was ok. Probably won’t go back.

Great place! I got the vegetable plate and my husband got the chicken– both were extremely good! The hubby can be picky about his chicken, but according to him it was cooked «perfectly.» Hummus made in house is amazing, food was all very filling. Definitely a new favorite and will be going back again!

You have to go here! The first time we came we got a lamb and chicken dish. The lamb was so good my husband has talked about it for a month! While we were waiting for our food the owner brought us slices of pizza. We didnt really understand what was going on since they don’t have pizza on the menu but we like free stuff so we took it. And thank goodness we did! It was so so good! One of the pieces had ricotta cheese which I never would have picked but it was lovely! We were bummed we werent able to take a full pizza home. Fast forward a month, we come back to get lamb and see they have a full pizza menu! SO EXCITED and SO GOOD! !!!

A great hole in the wall place! Owner is friendly. The inside is fairly nice with 3 booths and 2 round tables. My buddy brought me here a while back and I’ve been coming back often ever since. The food is phenomenal! Falafels, shish kabobs, and especially the gyros! I usually get the 17 combo plate. I recommend it for any who are coming here for their 1st time. Fine place to eat in or to get take out! I don’t live in the area but I know they also cater and deliver!

This place has the best gyros anywhere! I like that they’re open until 10:00 every night. I stop here after rehearsal frequently.
They lose a star though because when their pop machine goes down, they charge $ 1.79 for a 12 oz can of pop when they usually give a 16 oz refillable cup for that price. It’s been down twice when I’ve been in there.

Do not let the location or size of River Grill fool you. This is a gem. My party had the gyros plate and the lamb plate. Both were freshly prepared, tasted great, and were very generous sizes! Share or plan to bring half home!

The food here is pretty spot on.
This place is a sweet family run joint. They are all pretty friendly. Only once they forgot the cheese on my fries… but hey maybe the guy was doing me a favor. The wings are quite big but what you really want to get is the gyro. Man up, and get the lamb… you wont be disappointed.

The food here tasted good. No question about that. There are three reasons this gets such a low rating from me though. Number one, it’s so tiny and connected to a convenient store. Number two is because I ordered something but didn’t realize it wouldn’t be in a pita so I asked what it came in and he showed me an unopened loaf of hoagie buns and to my surprise, the hoagie buns he showed me were moldy! I was so hesitant to eat there but I checked everything when it came out and it seemed ok but this really turned me off. Third, my boyfriend also ordered his thing without onions, twice they put onions on it :/​Won’t be back, but the food at least tasted really good.

Had the philly cheese steak and wings. Very, very good. Only problem was I think the cook made the orders reversed from when they were ordered. The people who ordered last got their food first and the people ordered first got their food first. Still it was so good it deserves five stars.

This place makes FANTASTIC Gyros! Better than a good deal of the local competition, in my humble opinion. The portions are well sized, the food has great flavor and the employees are energetic. My son has always called the attached store the «Friend Store» because the owner took the time to acknowledge him when he was a tiny tot, which I believe is the hallmark of a great neighborhood store. I am glad to see that friendliness and quality has extended to their new endeavor. and pretty glad to be able to get awesome Chicken Wings so close to home.
