Absolutely dishonest swindlers. We kept DirecTV for four years simply because it is such a hassle to switch but now I am switching. I am being charged a cancellation fee after I was told upon the last renewal that there was no contract. Fran(service agent) and her smug attitude just confirmed my decision to go to Comcast.

DirecTV may have had good customer service at one time but those days are over. Calling Directv had turned into an ordeal. Their automated interactive voice system is a pain and reaching a live person is difficult. I recently scheduled installation of a Genie DVR from DirectV. The morning of the scheduled installation, I received a call from the installer and he told me the appt needed to be canceled because no Genie DVRs were available. I contacted Directv and, after more than an hour of hassle, was told Directv NEVERKNOWS whether equipment is available when scheduling installations. It is a crapshoot. Equipment may or may not be available. If not, the appt must be rescheduled and, eventually, the equipment will be available for installation. Not happy, I was eventually transferred to a supervisor and she restated ALL appointments are made without regard to equipment availability and I should reschedule the appt and hope for the best. Not sure if she was really a supervisor as she was argumentative and rude and no help at all. When my contract expires with DirecTV, I will explore other TV options.

We went round and round with these guys before getting service, we had to go onlineto getthe rebate but were unnnable to so called customer suppport. They walked us through it over an hour on the phone. Then the tech shows up and says that he was installing 2 nonHD receivers. But, that incorrect, so, had to call CS again. Spent another 45 minutes online at a coffee place as we didn’t have internet at the new house. Still could’t get rebate so called CS yet again. The lady said that we had to do it online, we told her that we’d already tried 3 times, so after getting angry she did it in less than 5 minutes. Why not do that at the start. I can’t imagine what canceling service will be like.
