First of all, if you’re not familiar we the area — you’ll drive right past it – as we did. The recently opened butcher store has yet to put up its storefront signage. Not expecting much, we walked into what looked like a gas station convenience store, and were not only greeted with a hearty Maine welcome, but were waited on with some of the best customer service I’ve witnessed in quite awhile. So being the carnivores that we are, we took advantage of their expertise and started ordering meats. Needless to say, we walked away with an assortment. That night we grilled their Porterhouse steaks. These steaks we’re amazing… the perfectly marbled meats melted in your mouth. We also purchased a 16 pound Prime-Rib roast for our family gathering and let’s just say — we’ll be returning to Countryside for all our meats. Of course I need to mention, it helps to have an amazing cook who knows how to grill/roast a piece of meat to its utmost juicy medium-rare perfection. If only this place sold live lobsters — I’d be in surf n turf heaven!
