— The tickets are cheap! They could definitely use a few updates but when you need something to do and not a lot of money, this is the place to be!

Twice I had to through out a large bucket of popcorn due to the fact that there were BURNT, and I mean burnt, pieces. When I asked the girl at the counter for a refill and that I wanted fresh ones, she acted like she didn’t know what I was talking about. Ended up getting a refund, but I would not recommend this Movie Tavern at all. I’d rather either drive to 7th Street or Hulen.

Surprised to find out this theater is still here after many years of being away a from the area. Use to come here many years ago. Came with the family on Christmas Day to watch Star Wars. I cannot say enough about how great everything was. Calls prior to the theater to get 14 tickets and had a very helpful guy walk us through the online process and offer to get us help with good seats all together. The theater looked great and was very clean. Comfortable seas with plenty of leg room and food tables by every group of seats. Heard the manager instructing her team to clean the hallways and bathrooms which where very clean and functional. All of the staff was very helpful from the counter help to the servers to the guy taking tickets. Everyone had a great attitude especially working in Christmas Day. To add to it a the food was great and prices very reasonable compared to all of the other theaters in town. Great job new owners, we will definitely come back when on this side of town !

If it were up to me everyday would be movie night! Not my luck though, :) My little gal, only 3 and a half, have the best time there! If we see a nice family movie, or an awesome alien movie, it doesn’t matter! I went there with my older brothers and mother as a kid, now twenty years later and new owners, we still get to go! Twenty five bucks gets you, a pizza, candy, water and two tickets! What more can you want!!! It’s one of the best places to have our movie time together.

NASTYPLACE! Saw not 1 but TWOROACHES before the movie started crawling around on the table. Not only that the staff is Rude and Condescending. The price is cheap… Cause it’s a Roach Infested Rat Hole! I WILLNOTBEBACK! Oh forgot to mention, the«leatherette» seat covers are covering seats that have the foam rotted out. They also slip off when you sit on them. Nachos are Stale, Butter tastes old, and quality of food is the cheapest quality I’ve ever tasted. Terrible Experience.

At 7th street location. Previews sound extremely loud even with my hearing problem. Good food

As far as food goes, this place had the best food I’ve had at any Movie Tavern. Sliders were very good and so we’re chicken wings. One downside was the funky smell in the theater. Kinda like moldy carpet.

Admittedly we arrived a little late(though still with time to spare) to a big movie and there was no seats of 3 together. My partner and I had our 10yr old son with us and the idea that — even though we bought the tickets the day before — we might have to sit apart was pretty rubbish. Allotted seats would be better. Did not see one waiter once, so no food. Our son ended up sitting on my knee through the 2 hours so not all lost but… A little disappointing

I’ve done the dine in theater a few times with both Alamo Drafthouse and another small one in Houston. So I’ve done this about 6 times. First of all the menu is weak. You can see it online and see that pretty much all the dishes are various chicken dishes and there might possibly be ONE vegetarian option on it. Overall very uninspiring. Could easily offer café type food that looked more appealing. Appetizers were also super generic. But most importantly for beer it lists Bud light, Miller, other macro-brews etc then«Ask your server about our other beers»(My thought, «why don’t you just put it on the menu and if it’s seasonal do one of those mini menus and print out the list of the day). So I go ahead and opt to do so to see if they offer any decent locals or crafts Rahr, Deep Ellum etc(it lists Blue Moon which sorta-half counts). Her reply«What kind of beer do you like???(as if they have the world to offer)» Me: «Well…I guess I prefer stouts and porters, what do you have?» Her: «Well uh we have Bud Light… Miller lite… Coors lite,…» Stopped her right there as I was clearly going to be disappointed by the list of 8 beers that all taste the exact same and opted for the regular Coors(which it took her a while to realize they had, as if it were obscure). Later, my girlfriend and I are literally the only two in the theater and a older gentlemen walks in about 15 minutes after the start of the movie. The waitress comes up to him and takes his order VERYAUDIBLY. Why on earth don’t they work on a simple paper, write down your order, type system that have one where you walk in and have to have a conversation in the middle of the movie! Overall, bad menu, terrible beer choices and staff knowledge of them, and most importantly the service hinges on talking in the middle of the freaking movie. Won’t be going to any of their locations again unless it’s truly the only option that is screening that movie.

Dirty. The place was filthy in the theater, bathrooms, lobby… Service was weird there are no waiters at this Movie Tavern. We have been to other Movie Taverns and this is not up to the standards we expected. The cashiers were very friendly but that is it.

I wish they a lot more drinks to choose from like the one in downtown but again it’s convenient close to my home and not to look for a parking lot like downtown. Heh!

I enjoyed the Movie Tavern and the in-theatre dining is a fun option. The seats are comfy and the armrests have cup holders for any size drink. Their menu offers the classics and other options along with beer & wine. Although they offer alcohol this is a family friendly environment. Ages 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian age 21 or older. I appreciate this as this keeps the rugrats under control. I like that I can purchase my tickets online and use the kiosk to avoid the line. Pricing is cheaper for a matinée but there is a surcharge for all 3D flix.

They stopped all the specials. The food is great but even better when you planned a date around the food specials. Bring them back please.

This is my favorite movie theatre for date nights where we don’t want to spend a lot of money but want to enjoy a current movie with great food. This theater is rarely busy(because it’s in the back of the shopping center) and we love the staff cause they’re very friendly. The building is older and there aren’t many screens but thanks to that fact, there’s tons of seating and lots of table space. The tickets are an amazing price($ 3 before 6pm, $ 5 after 6pm and add .25 to those prices on the weekends) you can’t beat it! Love this movie tavern location!

We usually go to the movie tavern off west 7th and we figured we would try this location for a movie that was showing there and not at the other location. We walked in and were surprised by the line of people at the concession stand and were completely disappointed in the drastic difference, it was just a regular theater! We stood in line for about two minutes and decided to walk out right then and didn’t care we just gave them $ 10 for nothing. We will never return to this location.

This is THECHEAPEST theatre in town.($ 3 during matinée!) I love going there & with the extra money I save, getting food. The food is pretty good too. The pizza is sort of thin-crusted & pretty greasy, but still good. The popcorn is good too but then again, move theatre popcorn is always good. I suggest that if you’re going to get food, get a pizza & large popcorn + drink. It’s a good deal for two people.

My husband and I decided to come to this movie tavern instead of the west 7th movie tavern(our go-to) since it had the movie we really wanted to see. When we first arrived we were delighted to find out the price of a movie is less than HALF of what we normally pay. I mean you really can’t beat a $ 3 movie. When we walked in, we understood why it was probably cheaper. It is an old theatre– and old meaning not really kept up. The floor was dingey, there were less food options, the seating is a lot different that the west 7th location, and the crowd there is… different. We waited in a line to get food and people kept cutting in front of us. When we found our seats in the theater, the previews were starting and someone was loudly talking on the phone. Another couple by us was having a conversation and also talking loudly. The guy behind me loudly burped a few times. It was as if we had come to a part of town where people didn’t know how to behave in a theatre. My fries were cold and soggy. The buffalo bites, however, were very good. The movie was great but everything else, including the food, was just tolerable. We may venture out to this movie theatre again as a last resort for a movie, but would try to avoid it.

Went to this location for the first time yesterday. I very much enjoy the other two locations I’ve visited but this one needs to be remodeled and put under new management. Theater 2 smells like a urinal at a baseball game and there is no service. The manager I spoke to was rude and I will not be returning.

Great prices on movies, especially matinees. Stick to drinks and Popcorn however, the food is NOT the same quality as other movie taverns.
