A&J Burger Drive In

Heard about this place today, so I had to try it out. Ordered the chili cheese fries & pastrami sandwich. Excellent value, and if you leave hungry, it’s your own fault. Chili cheese fries were hot, fries were firm/​crispy & there was plenty of cheese.
The pastrami sandwich had plenty of meat, mustard & pickles. Both items were tasty as heck.

A & J’s has been one of the best burger joints in OC for years. I’ve been in Fullerton for 25 years and have never found better. Great prices, great food, great service. Try it!

I used to go here as a kid when my family lived there. Still go on occasion if I am passing through the area. Good basic, Old-​Fashioned burger place. The French Fries servings and the Onion Rings servings are huge– easily enough for two to three people. Burgers are good-​sized, too. The place is kind of like a time capsule, taking you back 50 years…

Excellent burgers been goin here for years. They also have really good chicken tenders. affordable and conveinent to home.

The owner is incredibly cheap and rude. We are here all the time and the owner had a fit when I brought my still frozen mushrooms back up. Since he was pissed off he over cooked it. We decided to take our business somewhere else instead of stuffing his greedy pockets.

Ordered a sausage breakfast burrito with extra cheese (egg, hash brown, cheese, sausage, and salsa) and it costs $ 5.29 total. Fixed in minutes. Good flavor, balanced ingredients, but spicy!

Cheap and amazing food! Had the avocado bacon cheeseburger. Under 6 dollars after tax? YES PLEASE

For my first try here, I ordered ahead and picked it up later. The order was perfect, loved my veggie burger, and french fries were delicious. Couldn’t think of a reason not to go back! The owners are super nice, too :)

Terrible service. Asked for a water cup and the man working went to the back and put in sink water that was not drinkable water. He then tried to charge me for the water that was opaque and looked like milk basically. Worst restaurant I’ve ever been to in a while. He also charged me a dollar for barbecue sauce which I found outrageous.

Breakfast was very good. The burritos are good. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable. Only bad thing is that they only take cash which is kind of inconvenient.

Zero stars is what this place deserves!!! Ordered 5 breakfast burritos NO salsa and of course they were wrong. The girl at the counter admitted that she wrote the order wrong but the OWNER would not replace the order!!! He would only replace 3 of the 5 burritos… Needless to say before I completely flipped out and end up in jail I left! He can live with the fact the he ripped off my family! KARMA IS A BITCH!

Hole in the wall but one of the best spots in Fullerton ! I’ve been a loyal customer since I was a kid. Recommend this spot, looks a little ghetto but it’s well worth it !

A&J’s has simple, fast and cheap food. I recommend the patty melt and breakfast burrito (it has a slight kick to it). Their chili cheese fries are definitely better than George’s Hamburger, but not quite worth ordering again. I would also skip the onion rings. They’re crispy, but very bland. However, I still want to come back to try their fried zucchini and breakfast plates.

They only get the 3 stars for the Good food/​BUT THESE PEOPLE HAVE HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Cash only!!! And they get mad if you ask for extra sauce!!! And they are RUDE!!! They hate their jobs. Unfortunately I love their taco’s! But hate them!!!

Found this place on Unilocal when me and my husband were in the mood to try someplace new together. So very happy we did. It is a pretty basic place, cash only, but really good food for the price. Inside seating is actually really nice, marble tables and seats.
I got the pastrami burger with fries and my husband got the bacon cheeseburger with fries. No complaints from both of us. Not to mention, we’ll for sure be back.

I come here as often as I crave their steak breakfast burritos. There have been times where they let me order the burrito after breakfast hours, and I’m very grateful.
Service is always swift, except for busy days, since it looks like there is only two people working the entire business. Unfortunately, the reason why I’m docking a star.
To finish up my review, I conclude that all the items here are quality made, so don’t expect fast food speeds.
Make sure you try the pastrami chili cheese fries!

I CAN’T BELIEVE ALL THE FOUR AND FIVE STAR RATINGS!??
Years ago I was buying the cheese burger till they kept raising the price till is was no longer worth it. Then I started getting breakfast burritos at a decent price.
I cannot forget or forgive the experience, of biting into a burrito that had hard, day old hash browns and unmelted cheese in it. When I call back about it, the lady on the phone made me feel like they didn’t give a c _​_​_​no offer to replace it, no were sorry, more like tuff s _​_​_​.
Others I know, and myself included, will not go for the following simple reasons:
** Hold the salsa on the side for your burrito THEY CHARGE YOU FIFTY CENTS!
** Extra, super small portion of salsa FIFTY CENTS MORE!
** Extra, tomato hold the onions and lettuce FIFTY CENTS MORE!
** Extra, chincy portion of tartar sauce FIFTY CENTS MORE!
** Extra, mustard… You guessed it!
** Change anything others would not dream of charging for, they charge extra!
Need I say more? It seems like they could care less if you ever came back. I
have not been there for years, but lately when I drive by the seem to be closing at random times between 6 and 10 PM. I also hate eateries that close before the time stated at the business. You know, showing up, and their closed!

I drove by a few days earlier and on my way home I remembered that I would pass by and make a beeline straight for it. I got the chili cheese hotdog and chili cheese fries. Since I hadn’t eaten all day I was famished. Little did I know that I would be forcing myself to eat every bit of it all
I liked the chili cheese fries more than the chili cheese dog even though they bought used the same chili. it was good enough to remember but far from spectacular enough that I won’t break my neck to make sure I needed to go back. Though I have to so I can try their pastrami or steak sammich.
Parking was ok, would have been better if the lady parked in 2 stalls didn’t think she was owning the place.
They made an error on my order and made everyone elses before me so that created a long wait I was kind of mad about.

This is a solid Mom and Pop burger joint. We got a pastrami sandwich and a bacon cheeseburger to split with a large order of fries.
Service was really friendly and even at 9pm on a Sunday with all the surrounding businesses closed down there were still a few people in line ahead of us. This is place is, even as tiny as it is, is super clean and well maintained with great handwritten menus. There were so many delicious sounding choices I cannot wait to go back and try their chile verde fries and their fried chicken sandwich. They have amazingly priced breakfast items too. I’m pretty sure this is going to be a new go-​to.
Onto the food.
My pastrami was really tasty. The bread is the only thing I would say was not very special. But I’m sure it would taste amazing on their pastrami burger. The edges are nice and crispy thanks to the little sear they give it on their grill.
The bacon cheeseburger was nicely seasoned. I love when Mom n Pop places season their burgers because it tastes homemade but better. The bacon was crisp and the bun was fresh.
Nothing wrong here at all! Nice little hole in the wall for sure. Always fun to find these so close by!

This is a local favorite here in Fullerton. People have been coming to this place for years regardless of the owner because quality has always been good here.
Recently just had a double cheeseburger combo and it was still good like it was years ago. The only difference was maybe in price by a dollar but I havent been here in years so it needed to go up. The girlfriend said the torta was good as well.
The place looks cleaner than it did before.
