Alvaro’s Mexican Food

Brother wanted a chimichanga, & this one was on the way home. After ordering, we waited behind 1 other customer, & saw that they & the lady working the drive thru were just chatting it up for over 10 minutes, & no food given to the «customer» before leaving… Kind of annoying but whatever. The chimichanga was okay for what it was… Nothing special. The lady at the window wasn’t very friendly & seemed to rush us. Doubt we’ll be back.

If you ever had carne asada fries in the San Diego area then you will be disappointed. The fries here are well cooked but mushy.
The beans are well seasoned.
The toppings are OK but not amazing like el Camino real in Fullerton.
Overall 3 stars. Not horrible but not great either.

I went there the other night and when I got home my food was burned. My fries were fried twice and were so dark n brown. Normally I go there many of times and get great service but these last few times I’ve been getting crappy service.

Been coming here since we moved to the neighborhood a few months ago. Yesterday we got a surprise in our carne Asada burrito! We found steel wool in our burrito. Took the burrito back to them to show them and the worker has the nerves to say «it’s not dirty»!! I should’ve told him to eat it. We’re never coming back here again. So disgusted!

I am Absolutely disgusted by this place. I ordered the ½ Super asada nachos, after having 3 bites I found hair in my plate. Wtf! Seriously check your food before eating it.

Great Food! Amazing burritos and carne asada fries!

The drive thru wait wasn’t bad, but they didn’t tell me my total at the end of my order, I got my food, and I left but when I got home I looked at my food looked good but, once I started to try it it felt like someone re heated my order it didn’t give me that fresh feeling and they didn’t give enough chicken. So out of a 10 I give them a 3

Do not eat here. I keep giving them a chance but this is the worst Alberto, allertos, almertos. You get it. Any how. Been and cheese burrito beans cold so cold the cheese is not melted, I added avocado and it tasted like it was old brown and mushy (but it was still green) rolled tacos tasted like old dirty oil cooked fried way too long that I could call it burnt. This is the last straw. I live walking distance to this place and this is the third time. This is 3 strikes your out. All three times just got worse to health inspector needs called asap

I bought a burrito and a shrimp fejita? (Not sure how to spell it) for togo and when I arrived my house, which takes only 5mins away from the restraunt, the sauce from shrimp fejita was all over the paperbag and on my seat as well. I was surprised but first I tried to take the bag out of my car because it was keep on leaking and when I hold it up, the bag ripped. It was soaked with the sauce from the shrimp. So I took a picture of it and took everything to the restraunt and told them that the sauce was leaking all over the bag, they were like «we cant do anything about it». I didnt ask them for any money back or I didnt ask them to make me different food. I just asked them if they can make me a new one cause it was the packing problem but they said no. I even touched the bag with my hands to show them that it was sauce that was leaking and they said «i know but sorry we cant give you anything». I was so mad about wasting 20bucks at this restraunt so I just threw everything away in from of them and walked out. Never coming back

Food quality is great. Service is slow and sometimes not the correct order. Price is a bit high for a burrito… Come on… $ 6?
Drive thru is super slow. Only one poor person handling it and she is overwhelmed.

I’ve been coming here for late night burritos for 10? years. Love it.
Meaty and greasy. In a good way.
Carnitas or carne asada burritos. That’s all I get. I eat them in the day during sober hours as well– just as good.

Really really bummed this place WAS NOT Alberto’s. Should have realized it when they charged extra to slide my debit card.

this place is aight.

$ 5 special all day, 2 big-​ass chix tacos with rice & beans and a coke. minus one star for the sometimes rude workers

I had the carne asada fries, which came with french fries, carne asada, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and … beans!!!
There were plenty of fries and carne asada, but there were way too many beans.
Overall, given the ingredients, it could’ve been pretty good if the person who made it put a little love into it, but it didn’t quite live up to its potential (4 stars), so I took 1 star off (3 stars)

I’ll say one thing… not every Alberto’s Mexican Food has the same prices.
The Alberto’s I went to in Santa Ana off of Edinger is probably the best I’ve been to in terms of quick service, convenience, late nights and cheap food. Those are definitely the qualities I feel everyone finds in a hole in the wall mexican place. Sad to say… this location does not meet all the criteria.
Although the marble tables and bar counters are pretty awesome… the food is dry (my carne looked like it’s been aging for a while after its been cooked) and the service was whatever. I asked for water and she offered me sink water. atleast she warned me right? nuff said.
Grade: C+ (marble counters were pretty sick)

Aside from the wanna be biker in the parking lot blasting his late 90’s music (and not the good stuff) food is really good. The super nachos are a heart at in a shiny aluminum plate. Kinda pricey for a hole in the wall

I come here if I want to get diarrhea and e-​coli.

food portions here were decent sized. Tacos were pretty big; as far as tacos go.
the burritos are on the small size.
Came had the carne asada and the fish burrito.
i thought it was cool that they toasted the tortillas; but i think it was on the grill for too long since the edges of the tortilla were a bit burnt and the tortilla itself was not very soft (maybe it was a reheated tortilla).
the meat on the carne asada taco was ok. Very generic nothing out of the ordinary.
the fish burrito had tartar sauce on it and in my opinion i have had better.
Food portions are good. Food quality is a little below average for me but its something to fill the belly. I dont think i will be wasting anymore calories on this place.
