Beautiful fresh fish, I bought sushi grade salmon and ahi for sashimi. I was offered a sample of the salmon poke and it was so good I took some home too. What a find! So happy to able to find this quality so close to home.

Sashimi grade fish was amazing. I probably would not order the fish mix with onions. Not a fan of that. But once a week will be in for Sashimi grade salmon and tuna.

I fish for recreation… ON the ocean… Dry Dock’s fish is the freshest! Not, Whole Foods, not your local supermarket… Nobody compares in S. California. And, they back their freshness up with $ back. Note also that when I fish, the catch I get is more expensive that Dry Dock by the time I figure the cost of the trip and fish processing… BY a LONG shot! And, it ain’t no «Hole in the wall»! SUSHI Grade! Enjoy!

Amazing little fish market. Awesome selection of fresh fish and helpful staff. Grilled over a wood fire a whole red banded rockfish served as fish tacos zarandeado style.

My first impression of this place was: fish surgical theatre. There is something to be said about a place that values sterility and minimalism in décor — the focus here is seafood and seafood ONLY! Which makes every other grocery store seafood option pale in comparison in freshness, quality and taste. It may cost a bit more, but the result is WORTHIT! Staff is very helpful and can recommend how to cook the fish if you’re a beginner too! Don’t be discouraged if you’re new to cooking seafood!

I feel pretty lucky to have such an amazing selection of seafood so close to home. Lately, personal fav is the Steelhead Trout. If you’re trying to find a place to get your seafood — look no further and try it yourself! I’ve tried their Opah, Salmon, Swordfish, Trout… to name a few. The people at the counter are always very helpful. They go out of their way to understand your tastes and how many people you are cooking for. It doesn’t get better! Thanks, Dry Dock!

This is the Hole in the Wall Fish Market that masters in some of the best Tuna Poke I have tasted in the mainland. This place is tucked in a small area that you really have to look out for or you won’t find it. That says a lot because I don’t usually eat Tuna Poke, I prefer salmon poke. Their salmon poke is not too shabby as well. This place is definitely a love letter for people who love to cook seafood. *Tuna Poke — The difference about this tuna is it is super RED and marbled. I have not seen the color and grade of poke like this before. The taste is also damn great. It can be debateably the best Tuna Poke I have ever had. Again, I don’t usually like Tuna Poke. I prefer Salmon Poke. **Salmon Poke — What I like about this poke is how they make it. I saw how they make it. They had premade salmon poke with just the onions and garlic. They didn’t put the sauce on it yet. They only put the sauce on it when they were gonna prepare it for the morning. That’s an interesting way. I might actually do that. ***Sushi Kit — This is about a $ 26 package that has everything you need to eat your own sushi and be able to cut it yourself. You have about a .5 lb of each Salmon, Tuna, and Yellowtail. It also comes with ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce. You are ready to go. This sounds like a great idea that other markets should be doing. Other market bring out that trash like California rolls and totally premade stuff. This kit sound more appealing to me. ****Fresh Fish — This is the only place that I have seen that says«Sushi grade salmon.» I love how they promote the food to be eaten how it should be eaten. Of course I love sushi. They offer a plethora of fish, ceviche, king crab legs, branzini, and a bunch of spread. They have a lot that should just check out. I will definitely be back to get more fish to cook and more poke!

I found this market through Unilocal.I bought some poke for a birthday party and it got gobbled up real quick. The restaurant was very open and clean. What I bought: Ahi tuna poke: it was a little mushy. I think it had too much sesame oil? But the flavor was okay. Salmon poke: this was the winner of the night. Everyone really enjoyed the freshness and flavor. Overall, I would recommend trying this play out. The fish is fresh and customer service was great!

Was in the mood for some fresh poke and this is a great place to get it. It’s a small place, but has a great variety of many different kinds of fresh seafood. I love their fresh salmon and ahi tuna. They also make a great salmon and lump crab dip. Check in on Unilocal and you get the salmon dip for only $ 4. Both dips are delicious and make a great appetizer prior to eating the fresh fish. They also have snapper, sand dabs and even fresh swordfish. They even have some great tortilla chips to dip into the poke.

Review is only for the poke! Accidentally bought the Groupon deal($ 12 for 2 poke bowls) so finally had a Sunday free with my BF to stop by at this place. There is like 2 parking spots in front of the shop? We came in the afternoon so no one was there. Walked in and the place smelled of fish, but it should smell like that anyway! So walked right up to the display windows and saw that they had 2 trays of already prepared poke. So you have your choice of tuna or salmon in either the traditional sauce of the mild/sweet sauce. All the tuna was gone at the time so we had to get the salmon. It came on top of some chopped of cucumbers. Personally I thought the mild/sweet sauce had more flavor. The salmon was a little bit too slimy for me like it was overly sauced. Sadly the worst poke I’ve ever had… As for the service, there was one guy working out in the front. Not that friendly… didn’t talk much. Gave us our poke orders and then that was it. Would I be coming back? Nope…

You know, you get to a certain point in life where grocery store seafood just won’t cut it anymore. Yes, I’m at that point. I would get everything from shrimp, to salmon, to crawfish from my local grocery store. Until I realized that there had to be better options. Now if you’re reading this review and thinking of going to Dry Dock just know this upfront. The building isn’t some fancy nautical themed place. It’s a plain gray building with huge windows. I say this because you’ll drive right by here like so many others do. Anyway, when you walk in you’ll be greeted by a huge selection of seafood. Yea, there’s salmon and such but you’ll also find some really cool stuff that you might not have heard of. Don’t worry. You can ask the friendly staff behind the counter for cooking tips and they’ll gladly give you a quick recipe. My favorite thing here is the Ahi Tuna. Theirs is fresh and flavorful. The prices? Yea, they’re definitely higher than going to the grocery store but the quality is better, it’s fresher, and the majority of the seafood there has never been frozen.

Dry dock fish co… wonderful find by the hubs! I love some fresh fish and this place def has some. Tried the: poke, uni, and bought a slab of tuna Poke: The flavors actually impressed me. The spicy and regular were both awesome. The tuna poke are definitely the ones to get. Uni: This item was incredibly fresh. Well, it IS still alive. We only bought one and cracked it open at home. They are relatively easy to crack open, just youtube it. It was a wonderful golden hue. Tuna: We should have probably picked our own piece instead of having them pick one for us. The piece we got was ok in terms of the meat. I like the pieces more on the ‘medium’ side, aka chu toro. Will definitely be back for some poke and uni!

This review is solely for their poke bowls. Poke bowls come with cubed cucumbers, not rice. I got the spicy salmon poke and it was flavorless. Not spicy, not salty. The cucumbers were also a little watery and the poke + cucumbers ended up being a little messy to eat. The fish was fresh but just lacked flavor. I had a groupon which was for 2 poke bowls & ginger. They ran out of ginger and offered me a bag of chips which was nice on their behalf. Service was excellent and the man who helped me was really nice.

Came by this place this past Tuesday. I parked in their little parking lot right in front of the store(only 2 parking spots available, but I believe you could park on the street). Right when I walked in, I smelled a fishy smell, which is definitely not a good sign. Fresh seafood should not smell at all. Anyways, when I came in, I was greeted by the employee behind the display case. I decided to get the following: Ahi Tuna Poke($ 15.95 per pound) — I got the mild/sweet ahi tuna(they also sell a spicy version). I was quite disappointed with this poke. The texture was mealy and mushy, which I suspect is made of old fish. The poke sauce used itself was dry and seemed to have been missing something, but not exactly sure what. The flavor just wasn’t there and was a bit bland. Salmon Poke($ 15.95 per pound) — I got the spicy salmon poke(they also sell a mild/sweet version). For the most part, the salmon used was probably a little fresher than the ahi tuna to make this poke. All I could really taste of the poke sauce used was spicy. The poke sauce itself did not have much flavor and was just very one dimensionally. With both the ahi tuna and salmon poke, I decided to make my own marinade of soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar and minced garlic. Then I added it to both the poke and let it marinade for an hour. Then I baked both fish and it ended up tasting much better. And with the ahi tuna being baked, the texture was much better and you would not have known it was mushy and mealy before. Salmon Dip/Spread($ 8.95 per pound) — The dip is preportioned and so I decided to purchase two containers of it. The only reason why I am giving this place 3 stars instead of 2 is because of this dip. The salmon dip is quite creamy and better than other salmon dips I have had. There is also a lot of salmon used to make the dip, instead of the dip made mostly with cream cheese and sour cream. — — — — — — — — — — – (Total= $ 45 even) Overall, I am pretty unimpressed with this place and really had expected better. I would not recommend the poke and don’t see myself coming back here again. By the way, there are no tables or chairs here so just keep this mind if you were planning on purchasing ready to eat food items and eating at it here.

Wowzer. I know they have all kinds of fish and seafood, but what I wanted to try most was their poke. And that’s exactly what I did; got all 4 kinds of their poke and ceviche. There were 2 ahi pokes, and 2 salmon pokes. They were either their regular seasoned or sweet. Even though I think the Sweet Salmon poke is my favorite, I’ll still get all of them next time around! What I love about their poke is that it’s not drenched in sauces or sesame oil and you can actually taste the freshness and flavors of the fish. Most places I’ve tried always mask their poke with dressing. I’m so excited this place makes it exactly how I like it. I can see how some people would think it tastes too bland, though. So consider yourself warned… You can get poke by the half pound or pound. Unfortunately, they don’t do poke bowls with rice anymore. They also have a variety of sushi grade fish which I will definitely have to come back for! And salmon… so much salmon… Everything looked amazing. First time at this place, while I know it’s been here for awhile, the location looks new? Service was great, parking may be an issue if you come during busy hours.

Just based on the poke, I would say that Dry Dock Fish Co. is A-OK. I also had the Groupon for two poke bowls and the general consensus seemed to be that the poke was bland. We tried the mild ahi and both the mild and spicy salmon. I definitely preferred the salmon because I felt like the texture of the tuna was a little off — a little mushy. Adding a little extra soy sauce helped things immensely(ooh wasabi would have been good too!). I was also disappointed that the poke was served on top of cucumbers because you know I love my carbs. On the plus side, the service was good and I really like their smoked salmon dip. I just ate it with tortilla chips, but I think it would be good on crackers or even bagels. Seems like a good spot for all your seafood needs, but maybe needs to work on their poke recipe a little.

Just noticed my review is super old and incorrect, so I wanted to update. They have a store front now with display cases, you don’t have to go in the back anymore. They also take credit cards, which is very convenient. I just found out the other day that you can also buy their products on Amazon Fresh, which is super cool. They are on my way home from work, but sometimes I can’t make it by the 5pm closing time, so I will most likely order on Amazon Fresh since we started using that service recently. Love their fish, I won’t buy it anywhere else now. I have never been disappointed with anything that I have purchased from Dry Dock.
