Jaseng Center for Alternative Medicine

First off, I am an Acupuncturist and I love getting treated by fellow Acupuncturists and Chiropractors. I don’t usually tell the clinic what I do for a living and want to see how they treat a «regular» patient. Secret shopper /​patient type!
Layout and Waiting Area — ⁵⁄₅
Open and clean. Waiting area is very comfortable with lots of leather sofas and tv showing clips of treatments and history. Secretary was very professional and knowledgeable about who Jaseng is and what sets them apart.
Location — ⁵⁄₅
Very easy to find, right off the major road and HUGE parking lot! First floor and easy access to parking lot.
Acupuncturist — ⁵⁄₅
I was lucky and met both Acupuncturists. Dr. Lee and Dr. Kim. Both are the smartest and explained to me WHY I was feeling the way I was by checking my pluses and examining my tongue. Even though most practitioners know the basics, these two pin pointed many things that I did not mention in my paperwork.
Even though there are MANY Acupuncturists in LA and surrounding area, the quality here is unmatched.
Both doctors have been trained in Korea by one of the BEST Doctors and hospitals in the WORLD. Google or YouTube jaseng.
This is not a typical acupuncture session where a few basic points were used and a few minutes later you leave with minimal change or difference.
I had a slight neck issue and they used 2 points to treat. They use a specific technique called Motion Style Acupuncture and even though it was didn’t feel great while they treated me, my range of motion and pain was minimal within 2 MINUTES!
The treatment went well and I fell asleep within a few moments. Top grade korean needles were used and painless for my other body points. When I awoke I felt like I slept an entire day.
Well rested, great energy and mind sharper.
I am very happy and can’t believe what a great experience I had here. Local population is very lucky to have such a great and hidden gem near by.
Next time I return to LA, I will be back.

I’ve been heard good things about this place. Since my back and shoulder started to hurt, i had to go here. Everytime i visited, i got better and better. People are nice and especially Dr Lee! I’m taking my mom next week for sure.

The staff here is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend my friends and family here. The physicians were able to diagnose and address my issues immediately and treat them at the same visit. They even take my insurance. The hours are convenient although parking is a little bit of pain if you come during high peak times.
They diagnosed my children for height and I appreciate that they told me I didn’t need to buy anything from them but to make a few lifestyle adjustments and my kids would be fine. Loved the honesty and the absence of the pushy sales tactics.

I’ve been a patient here since last year and I always come in for the double acupuncture and chiropractor session. I keep coming back for two reasons: 1) how sanitary this office is, and 2) Dr Yoon has been aware of my pinched nerves problem on my back and is always very honest with me when it comes to the treatments. They also have a neck decompression machine that stretches out your neck that really does wonders. I always stop by whenever I’m in pain &I when I am back in town.

I went to Jeseung clinic for my stiff shoulder issue. The doctor acupuntured on my scapular bones and got me streched. It was very interesting experience !! My muscles became much tender and pain from my shlulders were just gone. After that the doctor applied numberous acupuncture needles on my spine muslces (erector spinae) and neck. I lay down for 20min. The needles all removed and cupping technique relaxed my muscles. I highly satisfied with it. I used to have Thai massage. But I now know that acupuncture is cost-​effective and provides better outcome. Thanks for the great medical service of Dr. Winston lee. I would like to recommand it !

Great hospital! The reception girl is gorgeous! Lol I come here for acupuncture and chiropractic on regular base. The all doctors at the hospital are just awesome. They are well experienced and caring.

Very nice people! The Chiropractic services are great and they did some amazing stuff to crack our backs. My husband and I were able to schedule a time together and that was terrific as well. Very clean facility with friendly staff.

Great facility, great knowledge, full line of services. I would recommend this facility to anyone in the area. There is a bit of an upsell, but this doesn’t matter so much for those on insurance, and those who know what they are after. Probably the best place I have been too, in my ten years, though I knock it a half star due to my preference towards firmer treatment.

Love love love this place! I have been a fan of acupuncture and am happy to say I will be a return at this place always!

My first experience was great! I was treated by Dr Park, who was sensitive to my needs
I expressed to her that I have been suffering from back pain, and she knew exactly where to put the needles. I already feel better! I am definitely coming back

You can not but love this center. The staff is amazing and friendly. I bought 2 sessions of acunpture from Groupon. I was pleasantly surprised with the time their dr in acupunture, spent with me explaining how she can make my weight loss experience a successful one. now I go twice a week to the center where she places electronic needle acunpcture in my stomach and help melt the fat. It is relaxing experience and I already lost 4 pounds in 5 days following their diet regimen along with acupunture. thank you Dr Soo gin (sorry for the spelling) for your support. I recommend you going to this clinic strongly for serious weight loss support

I have been going to the Jaseng Center in Fullerton for since November 2011 and I think their clinic made some progress on my recovery.
I had my injury since August 2011 of herniated disc ay L3−4 which is complicated by scoliosis becoming Faacet joint and SI joint involvement.
I first started recieving Chiro and PT treatment which is 2 minute drive from the house since I cant drive far back then at the same time I had 2 steroid injection which only took care of the inflammation for 2 weeks but after that it would recur.
After 2 months of the initial injury I went to Indiana to have a Theraflex Treatment that helped make me able to drive for about 20 minutes. But when I came back to LA, I had a major flare up of the inflammation and I feel I started all over again.
So I decided to check out Jaseng which my Spine specialised doctor has knowledge of their success and suggested me to go try.
Since I am able to drive further, I went to their Fullerton Clinic since its an easier drive .
I already have all the studies done before I went to Jaseng .
Their clinic is cean, neat and well organized. They have an air purifier all the time. Hot and cold filtered water and tea if you like. Their waiting area is simple but open comfortable modern design. Parking is validated .
I am well aware how my back problem is and recovery takes time and patients. I also have Physical therapy and bracing therapy outside Jaseng.
But like any other, they do have their own herbs that is not covered by insurance and it is expensive. They provide exercise CD its in Korean but it does not matter.
My Accupunturist modify his approach depending on the problem. There are places where the needle are sensitive which concerend me but others are not. There is a treatment curve .Only Dr Lee has done my accupunture and the other who covered for Dr Lee in the Olympic clinic was very good too.
The chiropractor Dr Peter Jung, is the best I have seen so far. He uses different technigue and is very careful. He takes his time with each patient.
What Jaseng has done for me is ability to control the inflammation, the spasms, stop the flares up and help the body natural healing. I know full well the herniated disc is still there but I dont do just Jaseng alone for my rehabilitation.
The reason for 4 stars is the cost of the medication,
Update Oct 2012: they are getting busy and expect not to be seen on the time of your appointment but they are getting better lately with the time, well its like seeing your doctor. Its never on time.
Dr Lee has moved down south and run the San Diego clinic. My new accupunturist is a little different from Dr Lee. I only go there once a week becuase of my schedule. I am not sure what the new course of treatment will do more on me, its more like maintenance,
2014 June update:
Pretty much stopped Jaseng becuase of insurance issue but I dont have the inflammation anymore but still doing chiro and other treatment. I might have to go back becuase of some recurring symptoms lately

Jaseng Center is a very clean and spacious treatment center with friendly staff members. Everyone is very professional and polite. I started coming here at the end of 2009 for a 8 mm herniated disc from a sports injury. I could not walk or sit and I had constant stabbing pain in my left butt cheek. Jaseng Center told me after acupuncture my disc would eventually go back into place with treatments. Soon I found out it would do very little to nothing for my pain which only got worse over the next few treatments. Truth is once you have a herniated disc that disc will never go back into the disc space by itself.
They seemed to understand my problem very well so I trusted in time there would be a positive difference. But everytime I went for a treatment I left with more pain so I decided to end my sessions.
Jaseng Center also does a fully body spine x-​rays which I HIGHLY do not recommend I am a fully certified (CRT) Radiologic Technologist at a reputable hospital and we NEVER take full spine x-​rays unless the patient has had spine surgery and comes in for post-​op films. It is unheard of for anyone to do a full spine x-​ray without a MD note because of the high concentration of radiation the patient is receiving. If you have a herniated or ruptured disc it will not show on regular x-​rays but only on MRI’s. Do not let them fool you into thinking they are doctors who can take x-​rays, accurately interpret and provide a treatment course for you. They have no medical background training and there hurting patients by exposing them to unnecassary radiation.

This place is awesome! I had neck and shoulder pain and Dr. James Yoon treated me. He is so caring and knows his stuff. After just three treatments, I feel a lot better. My husband been going to place for a few months and he has gotten better too! I definitely recommend this place!!!
In March they are launching their Obese clinic!

A fairly new acupuncture clinic in the area, Jaseng has no rivals in appearance. This is a beautiful clinic that is well laid out and has a soothing atmosphere. Unlike a lot of acupuncture clinics, there is no medicinal smell, which can be a turn off for many people.
The office staff is friendly and professional, and treatment by Dr. Yoon and Dr. Lee are first rate.
Chiropractic services and rehabilitation are also offered. Dr. Matsuda provides excellent chiropractic services and is well versed in personal injury and work related injuries.
It’s my understanding that Dr. Ronald Glousman and Dr. James Coleman will soon be coming in doing orthopedic consults for patient’s who have been injured on the job.
For those of you who don’t know, Dr. Glousman is the team physician for the Anaheim Ducks, and Dr. Coleman is one of the most well respected hand surgeons around.
