It is very sad that the restaurant is ran by good people but the food is not good. Primarily their sushi was not fresh and made me very sick. I think the restaurant is ran by good people but since they do not generate enough revenue they can not produce very high quality food. It is unfortunate but I think this restaurant with this quality food may not last long. In my opinion they should very seriously improve their very poor food quality.

Great price and great quality. I always get the two item combo, it’s about $ 10 but it’s worth every penny. A+ service!

I will caveat that this place is owned by my dad’s old high school friend, but rest assured that the relation had no influence on my rating of Midori. The only perk is mine and mine alone — tons of free appetizers and/or rolls when I’m there :) When this place first opened, I thought they had the best(est) rolls. They were fresh, flavorful, filling, and VERY reasonably priced. Great value for money(even if you pay full price — which I don’t)! I always looked forward to trekking out here for a massive sushi/roll dinner with my family — so much so that even when I moved to the East(for school, then for work), it was on my go-to rotation of places I needed to eat at before flying out from LA. The sushi rice seasoning is a little off from the last time I went(6 months ago), and I found out from my «Uncle» that a new sushi chef was hired in-between my visits. The new guy is a little heavy-handed on the vinegar, but I anticipate that will change now that I/my parents/the rest of my dad’s high school alumni group have informed him of it. You seriously can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but my favorites are the Hawaiian, Alaska, Sapporo, Harbor, and Rose rolls. My recommendation is to go with a big group and eat 1 – 2 pieces from a number of different rolls! Oh, and don’t forget the jalapeño poppers and udon, too!

I enjoyed Midori. We ate on a Sunday night and it was about 15% full. It’s a standard sushi place. The interior is typical. The sushi is typical. However, this is one of the few places where the server was a good listener. One of our group is allergic to shellfish and most sushi places have a hard time grasping the concept of cross-contamination. Midori’s server was very quick to show she understood and took it seriously. That was a big relief because we sometimes leave when we don’t trust the server truly gets it.

I love this restaurant the owners are kind the food is great. They have awesome specials and they give generous portions. I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve never been disappointed with my food. The inside is quiet and clean. There’s no fishy smell and never any wait to be seated. The location isn’t the best since all the business around them have closed down so it looks vacant. I believe if they moved there business somewhere else they might bring more people in. If someone wants to try Japanese food for the first time this is the place to take them. There’s no crazy rolls and fusion food, everything is pretty standard. I’ve been in on occasion and was given free desert from time to time, it’s little gestures that keep people coming back for more. There isn’t a lot of sushi restaurants in town but this one is pretty stable. Better hours than Higo and cheaper than Asashi. If you live close by this is a great place to eat at. Delightful eatery.

Didn’t even make it out of the restaurant before I got sick. The plants just outside the restaurant got a feeding tho.

Don’t let the outside scare you off, it’s much nicer inside with a lot of room to sit. The staff here is also really friendly. I’ve been looking for an affordable place to eat sushi and this is it! They have great deals. Monday-Friday they have lunch specials from 11 – 2. And they have dinner deals as well. They have a large selection of rolls and have sashimi pieces. All in all, this whole in the wall sushi joint is a great place to try!

It’s he staff here is really polite and they know how to make you a regular! I can’t find anywhere that has salmon tempura besides here and it is AMAZING so is their salmon teriyaki !!! If you can’t tell I’m a sucker for salmon… This place has stolen my heart I’ve had a few of their rolls and honestly every one that I have tried is pretty good !

This is our hole in the wall Japanese Restaurant that we always go to in our neighborhood. They have great combo prices and their rolls are fresh and delicious. Spacious inside and if you become a regular the chef at the sushi bar will give you complimentary appetizers from time to time. I love their Aloha Roll and their spicy tuna is tasty as well.

My review of this place is long overdue. The original place I was introduced to sushi, I have a former co worker to thank for this, who was some form of vegetarian, so he would often suggest we go here on Saturdays, when it was just the two of us in the shop. The servers are friendly. One of the gentlemen there(I want to say he is part of the couple that owns/is in charge of the place, if I had to guess) can be rather brusque at times, but don’t let that dissuade you. When I go in, I get their combo, with: 1) Salmon Teriyaki. Ok. So. This place is why I have such high expectations of other places when it comes to salmon teriyaki, and I guess why I have been continually disappointed elsewhere. Take my visit yesterday, for example. I got my food, then traveled to another restaurant for my coworkers’ food, as they wanted something else. Most places would have you believe that that will result in horribly overcooked fish, and I shouldn’t let it sit for so long, because it keeps cooking, even after they serve it to you. Not this place. It was still flaky, looked and tasted like the salmon it was. 2 and 3) Hawaiian and Washington rolls(half roll of 4 pc each) Always great, flavorful rolls. I have never had a disappointing roll in any visit I have had here. All for just $ 12.95+tax. You can get a 2 part combo, if you’re not as hungry, for $ 8.95+tax. Mostly your basic(half) rolls and teriyaki dishes available. They have other specials and daily deals too, if the above isn’t your thing. I only wish this place were near my home, rather than work(17 mile distance between the two), so that I could enjoy it more often.

Alcohol — Beer and Sake. Food — Sushi and Japanese american food. OK, so my friend and I chose to come to this place based on the 4 stars it had and the recent reviews saying that it was good. Unfortunately, we didn’t pay attention to the reviews and we were craving all you can eat sushi. This is not the spot for AYCE sushi. First off, the miso soup was not great. Very watered down and not much miso flavor. Second, how do you run out of seaweed salad and soft shell crab in a Japanese restaurant? These are 2 staples you would probably expect at a sushi joint. Would have given 2 – 3 stars but not having these 2 items on a Saturday for lunch when the place was pretty dead drops it down to 1. I would understand if we came late after dinner time and the place was packed to have some things not in stock but not at lunch when it wasn’t busy at all. The appetizers were good. Had the baked mussels and mixed tempura. I can’t recommend this place for AYCE sushi but all the other reviews say that the non-sushi food is good and my non-sushi appetizers that were available were good.

this is one of my favs sushi places for multitudes of reasons… for clarification, 90% sushi places outside of gardena and lil tokyo are korean owned. they are different than traditional jdm joints. however my 90% is too generous cause chinese and filipinos have infiltrated the sushi industry hence their quality tends to lack. maybe in exception to service. i would classify midori as more of a teri pollo bowl place with waiter service than a sushi joint, but thats just me. i also cant go to these sushi places and eat only sushi unless its buffet style cus i eat to fuckin much. its good to have a big appetite when trying to impress korean parents but it hurts the wallet a bit. now foood: they have lunch combos ranging from $ 6 to $ 10. the combos are basically a bento plate or a three item combo. i normally get some teri pollo or dong kas *katsu* both of them are delish. the dongkas isnt heavily breaded and have a good amount of meat. the rice tastes like vietnamese rice which is what 99% of what koreans eat(and what korean markets sell, look at labels people) so i like it. the rice is on the sticky side. fyi: my lesbo homie told me sticky rice means gay asian man! LOL the other parrt of my combo is spicy tuna and cali roll with no cucumber. i also get a an extra philly roll. the service is exquisite. but again, i think i get treated well because i speak the language and they like how i eat. its a korean/east asian thingy about having hefty appetites. the servers are mostly korean women, no complaints here(not as cute as niko niko or joes sushi). price: $ 25 for two folks but im sure skinny peeps will be closer to the $ 15 range for two without drinks. drinks: they have all sorts of crap. i rarelly drink alcohol(but have high tolerance) but im sure they have the usual suspects. iced or hot green tea: very yummy, i usually start off with this but switch to soda cause them bubble help my stomach sort itself out. i really like this place and i think u will too. happy grubbing people!!! korean words: geem bap: sushi geem: seaweed bap: food saal: rice dagwan: the yellow shit cha: tea mool: water uhh reum: ice

So disappointed! I used to eat here pretty regularly since they have pretty good chicken teriyaki, or so I’m told by my non-sushi eating coworkers who go with me. We’ve been exploring other places and hadn’t been here in a while. They ordered the chicken teriyaki which I hear was fine but my DYNAMITEROLL was the worst I’ve ever had! Being pregnant and trying to avoid raw foods I opted for my go-to cooked roll… You know, they’re pretty standard place to place. Just make sure to put enought seafood on top and enough Japanese mayo and they turn out ok, right? Right! The menu says crab/cucumber/avocado inside and baked seafood and scallops outside. What I got was a cucumber filled roll with a little crab– no avocado covered with ***MUSHYONIONS, CARROTSANDSQUASH***with a pinch of crab and about 8 tiny scallops over the entire roll. I may be in a hurry but I’m not blind to the fact that they’re stuffing this $ 11 roll with low cost veggies to replace seafood. We had it to go so when I realized what they had given me I called and asked when did they start putting carrots into the Dynamite rolls and he said always. When I reminded him I’ve been there plenty of times and NOT got carrots in my roll he said this time I must have asked for carrots on my roll… Absolutely not! Who’s ever heard of Cooked Carrots and overcooked squash in a sushi roll! They promised me another roll next time I come in but I won’t be back. I understand times might be tough since Albertsons closed next door but to use low cost filler and downgrade the quality of your food and lie and say you’ve always done so it is a recipe for disaster. They just lost my business forever– too bad! I work locally and typically decode where our group goes to eat for lunch. I foresee this place closing within the next year to two years.

I like the service here, probably because I’ve been here so many times. At one point, I came here once a week for lunch whenever I was at work. The service has always been friendly. The women are always smiling, and the sushi makers always say thank you and goodbye while I walk out the door. Sushi is good also. Definitely recommend this spot also! Oh. and the deals they have on Monday evenings, GREAT! 4 out of 5 stars for this spot… Not sure what would completely bring it to 5 stars… but I’ll know one day.

Frozen! Came here for AYCE sushi. First of all, the selection is pretty big, but don’t let that fool you. They ran out of yellow tail. WTH? Then they gave us frozen octopus: I know fish isn’t meant to be hot if raw but frozen. Really? I don’t expect to come here any time soon again even though our server was friendly.

AYCE sushi for $ 24.99 is definitely FTW here!!! Probably the best place I’ve been to for AYCE and it’s local to me, what more can I ask for? And FYI, this offer is only available on Fridays and Saturdays. Pretty much, the AYCE deal is worth it for sure. A large majority of their menu items are included except for of course sashimi, dessert, soda, and 1 or 2 premium appetizers. It didn’t matter because there are still plenty of selections to choose from, such as their specialty sushi rolls, sushi, and appetizers. From what my friends and I ordered, the following items were delicious: –Baked Lobster Roll –Rainbow Roll –Sushi(albacore, salmon, and scallop) –Philly Roll Oh I’ll be back here for sure whenever I need my AYCE sushi fix.
