I left the place injured and the staff couldn’t have cared less.
My entire experience here was terrible. When I walked in there was no one around and when someone finally did come up to take my order they seemed really disconnected. I finally got my food and while I was eating they decided to start closing. Normally this wouldn’t bother me, I’ve worked in food service before and I get it, but they proceeded to mop everything out front and then completely disappeared. As I got up to leave I slipped and hit the ground hard. I yelled for help but no one came out, they were too busy sitting around in the back. I called out a few more times, trying to get someone’s attention, but eventually I gave up. The entire experience was unacceptable.

They Need to really change the hrs and days
Made the trip all the way over there, my daughter was hungry and they were closed.

Tell my why it says they close at 10pm, but I get there at 9:10 and they closed at 9… I am heart broken.

I usually come here on the weekdays while I attend CSUF. The food is quite good and the prices are reasonable. They give you a discount for students with and i.d. which is nice. My only complaint is that the portions are inconsistent. Sometimes you get a really big portion of meat/​tofu but at other times you only get half as much.

I come here often however this place really is a hit or miss. Today I placed a phone order and came in to pick it up, they waited 20 min before giving my bowl to me because they forgot about it. Didnt event apologize :/

This place is a hit or miss. Their hours are weird and inconsistent, they close at different times. At night the employees seem to get lazy and want to go home so they lock their doors way before closing time. Once I tried to order 10 minutes before 9pm and they said they turned off their grill already as an excuse to deny service, this is what really gave them 2 stars!
However, the food is good (salmon bowl) but the rice is inconsistently made. Sometimes it’s undercooked. They run out of rice often and the size of your meat is sometimes half the size you should actually get.
To conclude all this, it’s convenient for me as a student since they offer good food and student discount. Otherwise, management really needs to change things up a bit to keep their customers.

I’ve gone several times within the past week and they’ve been closed due to «short staffed.»
I hope this place goes out of business, at least this location. The staff sucks, and you don’t just close a business when it says YOU ARE OPEN on your website.

Waba grill? Waba big disappointment. Although the amount of food you get is more than what you get at flame broiler their food was just not good.

Ordered the chicken and steak half and half rice bowl with veggies.
The steak was very sweet, the chicken was flavorless. The veggies were half cooked, felt like I was eating raw broccoli and carrots.
Although the food is edible, I rather just go flame broiler for the same price.

Today I came with an intent of buying a chicken bowl. I find out they’re still cooking chicken and it’ll take another 15 mins. I was in a bit of a rush so I decided to pass on chicken and just get a steak bowl. I figured it’d be less of a wait. But boy was I mistaken… I realized they were a bit busy but waiting 20 minutes for a steak and veggies bowl is unacceptable. After 15 minutes I would’ve asked for a refund but all the workers were busy. I ended up being late to class

This review is for 2÷03÷2016 at about 1pm. So I came here this afternoon for lunch to try this place. When I got here there were people inside eating but the door was locked (which was strange). I walked inside and the manager or employee not sure which, told me they were closed because they were out of food and understaffed. SERIOUSLY! Who runs out of food at 1pm? The manager obviously doesn’t know how to order enough food for inventory to keep it stocked, yet alone have enough people working to keep the place properly staffed. This place just opened? Not a good first impression

Very fast service and very polite people working here. No complaints at all. And the best part is that I never see this placed packed, so that’s a plus!

The food was ok, but that was after i returned a steak and veggie bowl. The veggie and rice was ok for the first bowl the steak was not. The steak was way too charred and the taste of burnt bits in my mouth ruined my palette for the rice.
Like the shape of the bowl though. I like it wider to spread the sauce around evenly instead of having it drip down a stacked set of meat and rice.
Even so, I’ll just go to flame broiler. After all, I go for food not the utensils.

I love coming here because I think the environment is really nice. I prefer to come here and get their food because it’s really healthy and fulfilling. Its also a short walk away from CSUF. I would have given it 5 stars but they constantly fail to open on time. They’re supposed to open at 10am and once waited till 10:20am and they still werent open. If you can’t be ready by a certain time don’t tell people you’ll be open then. And definitely don’t turn on your open sign and then lock the door.
This is really the only issue I have with the place. Otherwise it’d be 5 stars for delicious, healthy, and quick service.

Fairly quick, convenient, and healthy! What more can you ask for? The wait is kind of long sometimes when it’s busy, but that’s a given. I really wish they didn’t run out of salmon bowls sometimes, though. It’s all good ’cause I always resort to getting the chicken veggie bowl. CSUF STUDENTS! It’s a 10% discount for us! & the best part is that it’s right across campus! I love the convenience of not having to drive and walk on over into the store after class.
Foodwise, I’d say everything is pretty fresh! The lettuce could totally be chopped more, though, but that detail is super minor. The teriyaki sauce is super duper flavorful, and the chicken and salmon are my favorites. The beef here is really good, too, way better than Flame Broiler’s beef imo. They also have a new tofu option which is pretty good as well for those of you that don’t eat meat or fish.
If you’re driving into the plaza, Waba Grill offers 1-​hour and 2-​hour validation for your parking ticket!
A downside is that they could clean up the tables a little more. I usually end up having to do it myself with napkins and water or something kinda ghetto like that. Other than that, it’s fairly tidy.

Love this place! The food is healthy, delicious and reasonably portioned for the price. It’s also very clean inside! Definitely better than flame broiler in my opinion.
I always get chicken teriyaki plate with brown rice and I always feel super full after. Huge portions! :) the orange slices that comes with it is perfect for the dessert part of my meal!
Everytime I come in, the cashier Anthony, always has exceptional service. He deserves to be promoted for all the great customer service he gives me!
The only downside is that there’s no parking! I have to walk there from CSUF every time I go. :(

THEY’RE OPEN!
I came here a few days after they opened and I was pretty excited cause I’ve never tried WaBa Grill before. I’ve heard how good it is and I’ve been waiting to try.
So, it just opened a few weeks ago so its extremely clean. I had their chicken bowl with vegetables to-​go and it came out extremely quickly. What I loved about this place was their little condiment areas that made it easy to take sauces, jalapenos, napkins, utensils, etc. I’m not gonna lie, I took alot of everything. For food, I liked it, but I didn’t love it. I’ve tried better chicken bowls, but it was still good! I think they might have put alittle too much of their teriyaki sauce on mine.
As for parking, they have a parking garage/​structure thing that looks tiny, but I’ve never had a problem. One thing I do need to say is a lot of cars aren’t very visible when they are backing out of spaces. I’ve ALMOST been hit a couple times.

The steak plate was perfectly cooked and just seasoned to the right amount being a very picky eater they met my standards with ease.

I agree that the service is fast. In the first place, we weren’t able to download the BOGO offer through e-​foodie because the offer either expired or past the limit. Anyways, we still went and gave it a try. The menu is simple and it has pictures of the dishes. I got the half and half bowl (chicken and beef). The bowl was overflowing with the chicken and beef and green onions on the top. They ask you if you want green onions when you order. I think it has more taste than Flame Broiler. I didn’t have to add extra sauce. The chicken is very tasty. It’s extra if you want all white meat chicken. The beef was a little bit too shredded. Definitely will come back and try other dishes in the future.
