It seems like Sheetz are popping up everywhere. There are 3 within 10 miles of my house(and this one is the closest). Although it would seem like one mega-Service station would be just like any other, I’m going to have to say that I’m impressed with Sheetz in general and this location in particular. Sure, there are days when you have to wait a bit, and the food is good for a service station but not anything to write home about. However, they are always clean, have great restrooms(very open, clean, and well-maintained), and they are almost always very friendly and quick. The worst I’ve seen service here has been when the checker was distracted or just down-right bushed. In fact, there’s one employee we particularly enjoy seeing(my daughters and I stop in practically every morning for a juice and breakfast sandwich — the girls love them). I don’t know her name but this employee is always chipper and seems to rotate through a list of endearing names for customers. Some mornings it’s «sweetie», others it’s «honey». My girls love it and are always excited when she’s working and eager to see what the nom du jour will be. So, is it more than a hopped up service station? No. But, as hopped up service stations go, Sheetz has cultivated it’s own style and feel. The service is friendly and fairly uniform across the locations. The food is better than standard for similar chains and the gas is cheap if you have a loyalty card(and even if you don’t). Besides, it’s fun to say that you’re going to ‘eat Sheetz’. ‘Nuff said.
