I went to the wine guy bistro and it was a pleasant and delightful experience. We were greeted at the door with a pleasant smile. Our server was very attentive and enjoyed some wine flights to try different wines. I like to share lots of foods so we order a bunch of apps. The ricotta and honey was amazing, the meatballs we great, hanger steak melted in your mouth along with a ahi tuna. Was a great experience we will be back

Quaint restaurant in the heart of creekside in Gahanna. Parking garage is located close by or street parking. Easily accessible. The ambiance is fantastic for a date night or a night out with the ladies. Not kid friendly. My girlfriends and I ordered a few bottles of wine and later realized that in the pricing of the wine is a $ 10 service charge, per bottle. Is that common or excessive? I have nothing to compare it to so I am not sure but happily paid. We settled on a sweet bubbly wine from Italy, Rosa di Rosa. Delious and a must try. I am not a sweet wine drinker but someone in our group was and I am glad we found this wine. The menu is limited but appetizing. I came slightly hungry so I ordered a small Ceasars Salad and the appetizer hanger steak. The Ceasars Salad was quite large for a small and the dressing was creamy and lite. Reminding me of a ranch rather than a pungent Ceasars dressing. The hanger steak appetizer was cooked medium rare and so glad I choose that temperature. It is a cut of steak that would taste completely different if it was cooked medium or well. This was my absolute favorite. The flavors in this dish was hearty. The steak was served over spinach and had a tomato based sauce to accent. Overall I enjoyed this restaurant but not dying to return.

The food was amazing, the service was good, the atmosphere was nice; my only issue with this restaurant is that after our meal was over we walked around to see all of the different wines and actually ended up buying a $ 50 bottle of wine after 20 minutes of looking around. When we paid we realized we had left our leftovers at our table, but when we went to go get them, they had thrown them out. As a a previous server, 20 minutes is not long enough, and although a lot of people stop to buy wine prior to leaving, no one had made any effort to look around the restaurant to see if we may still be there. Normally it wouldn’t bother me so much, but the restaurant was expensive to begin with(our meal was $ 240; and worth it), probably $ 50 worth of food was thrown out. To not look around or even wait for an hour to see if we would come back for it is why I gave them a 4 out of 5. I highly recommend this restaurant, but beware, don’t forget your food. It will be thrown out before you even know you’re missing it.

Just ok. I’m not sure if it’s standard for all wine establishments, but a 10 dollar corking fee seems absurd. The service was good and so was the wine. Food was fine, though my burger was a bit burnt.

My girlfriends and I went this evening and it was their first time, the service is absolutely wonderful! I have the fish tacos tonight and they were the BEST that I have ever had anywhere. I also had the lava cake and that goes PERFECT with the flight of wines we were drinking. Overall the experience, atmosphere and food is fabulous and I highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful dinner here. First off, I love the fact that you can buy your wine here like at any retail wine shop and then drink it with your dinner for a $ 10 corkage charge! No crazy wine bottle pricing with dinner! As for the food, I can certainly recommend the Hunter Chicken. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. The plates were nicely presented and the portions decently generous. We’ll definitely be back.

I wasn’t impressed. I went to celebrate my 24th wedding anniversary with my husband. The atmosphere was pleasant by the food was bland. Probably will not return.

What a fantastic place for lunch! Friendly people, delicious food, and very solid wine! I had the apple and goat cheese salad — simply delicious with its fresh fruits and greens. The Underwood Pinot Noir from Oregon went very well with the salad — balanced, light, and smooth. Nice ambience and the music was at a reasonable level. Highly recommend this place.

I came here with my mom where we each indulged in a flight of wine(Cabernet and International). With the Cabernet flight you get to taste higher priced bottles for the same price flight as the international. I loved tasting the wine and sitting outside on their patio. The service was really great, super friendly. As for the food, We split the pepperoni flatbread. The flavor was good except I wouldn’t consider the dish a flatbread. I would have liked a thinner crust. The Brussels sprouts were tasty but on the oily side. Overall, a nice place and I would go back for the atmosphere and wine, but try a different dish.

Out on a business trip, my boss found this restaurant close to the airport. We were a bit skeptical when we walked in at 6:15 since there was not many at restaurant dinning but there were ppl tasting wine. After get situated, the waitress was very courteous and went through the wine selection with us. I ordered a wine flight which is a set of four quarter glass of different wine for tasting. Since I was ordering sea food, I ordered the white wine taste flight. I am not a big wine drinker but I definitely enjoyed the four different taste. The one from New Zealand was a bit too dry for my taste though. I had the seafood stew and I thought it was really good. It went well with the 3rd white wine that was recommended by the waitress. Overall experience was very good at the restaurant. I enjoyed the overall experience and if I am back to this part of town again, I definitely will try this again.

This place is cute and they have a great wine selection. However, when it comes to the food, it really did leave a lot to be desired. First of all, their complimentary pita points and cheese spread are a good idea… but awful execution. I guess they might’ve been enjoyable if the pita wasn’t burnt. Then, I had a «half portion» of their spicy shrimp pasta and it was embarrassingly small. I’m not quite sure how they even plate and serve something that measly looking but I don’t recommend it, no matter how small your appetite. Oh and the bread that comes with the pasta? Yep, you guessed it, also burnt! The burger was an improvement but even that was small for a burger. The chips that accompany the burger are just ok, nothing special and I don’t think they’re fried in house. Overall, a great place to enjoy a glass of wine or a few appetizers and a flight but certainly not somewhere I’d go back for dinner.

The food was good but the service was EXTREMELY slow. From waiting to be acknowledged to our drink orders arriving to our appetizer and main course arriving, it all took a considerable amount of time and half the time it seemed like our waitress forgot about us. I will definitely go back, but because of the food and the outdoor creek side atmosphere, Not because of the anywhere close to fast service

Perfect Saturday night light wine supper. We were looking for a place to chill out, get some appetizers and enjoy a glass or two of wine. The selection was good, service very pleasant, and atmosphere very nice. Wine flights were very nice. I enjoyed the variety. You could get anything from white to chardonnay to South American. The wine store inside is also an added bonus. Having a broad variety for palates and budgets is always a big plus in my book. Food was well done but simply very good. We had a very executed salad that the server was polite enough to split for us when we told her we were sharing. The olive and bread plate came with plenty of soft, fresh crusty bread. The hangar steak was perfectly cooked though it could’ve used a little more seasoning. For dessert we shared the cannolis which were pretty good. Overall we enjoyed our experience and would definitely put it into our dining out rotation. Give them a shot if you like to try out some wine and have a nice evening.

Happily surprised by the look of the place. Extremely tall ceilings, spacious. Perfect place for a date night or girls night. Could be casual or formal, has a versatile atmosphere. Service was actually great, i was a bit weary reading other reviews. Theres also an outdoor patio. As the name implies, there was a vast selection of wines. I really enjoyed the sweet wine flight, 1.6 ounces for 15 $. The chicken marsala, cajun scallops, and crab cakes were all excellent. A great find in downtown Gahanna!

This was a slightly belated birthday dinner for my boyfriend(it was his choice). We made reservations for a Friday night. It was so quiet that we didn’t really need to have reservations but that’s probably to be expected on the night of an OSU bowl game. We both chose wine flights. I had the International Flight and he had the White Wine Flight. I enjoyed mine very much, they were well-chosen and played well with each other. The boy was cool on his white wines, he felt like they all tasted too similar and were hard to distinguish from each other. Now, onto the food, I had the roasted pork tenderloin. It was all right. The pork was slightly dry but was rescued by the tasty jus that they had and the apple-black pepper chutney that was on top. I don’t know that I’d order it again. However, the risotto that the boyfriend had was downright lovely. Perfectly cooked and seasoned and a giant portion. Now, dessert was a molten lava cake which was everything is should be; dark, rich and delicious.

My hairdresser just moved to Yudu Salons and with light fri evening traffic I arrived early, so a glass of wine was in order! I just ordered at the bar and took my glass to the patio. There was some sort of networking event and the guy paying their tab joked he thought I was part of their group and if I had just picked one of the bottles they had open I could’ve had a free glass! Oh well. Thoroughly enjoyed my Riesling while people watching! This might become a pre-haircut ritual! Interior looks like a great place for intimate evening with friends or date for great wine and drinks.

I always have a good time at The Wine Guy! A gang of friends have always counted on The Wine Guy to be our go-to for good wine, good food, and good conversation! We usually gather during happy hour and everyone grabs themselves a flight and a few snacks. My personal favorite is the International flight — the selection of wines in it are delish — especially the Spanish Garnacha — and it’s at a great price. They’ve created a menu bar bites that anyone should be able to find something tasty they want for just $ 5! On my last visit I ordered the Diablo Shrimp Sliders — and I can say they were so good. The shrimp was crisp and delicious with just a hint of heat. YUM The atmosphere is always lively and there is usually enough background noise to cover up our inappropriate conversations. They also have a few tables that offer a feeling of privacy where you can feel safe to let all your secrets lose after a few glasses of wine! Parking is a breeze — just jump into the lot under Creekside Plaza if you don’t spot any open spaces along the street — but the garage it free — so why bother to even look… just park and get to that wine!

I don’t write a lot of reviews but I took my girlfriend here and it was outstanding. Risotto with sliced filet, spicy shrimp pasta were both very good, and the wine sampler was great to share. We went to Morton’s in Pittsburgh the next week, and we both missed this place compared to what we got there. It was my first time here, so I was very pleasantly surprised, all the ingredients tasted fresh and of quality. Thanks!

A girl walks into a wine shop, to buy a wine bottle opener. She doesn’t see any, so she asks the hostess where she can locate them on the«shop» side. The hostess states, «We don’t sell those.» I laughed, thinking it was a funny joke(seeing as they are a wine shop and all), and she stated once more: «No, we don’t sell those.» Thanks for nothing!

I expected more from this cute wine shop dining spot. The cheese course was boring. The wine selection was mediocre. The food was attempting to be unique and rustic but it fell a little flat. Our server was delightful and attentive. I have the white wine flight and my husband has the premium red flight. Cute rustic table for service. We had the ricotta and honey appetizer which was interesting but not incredible. The best appetizer we had were the meatballs. A nice place to kick back and enjoy a glass of wine but they’re not setting the world on fire.

If I could give 6 stars to this place, I would! I’ve read some mixed reviews about this place, so not sure if I’ve just gotten lucky or they have been unlucky — but this is one of my favorite restaurants in Columbus. I’m far from a wine expert, but I do appreciate a nice tasting wine. I have been to Wine Guy twice and both times I would say I had some of the best food I’ve ever had in Columbus. Good enough that you think how good it was hours and days after! My date and I arrived about 730 on a Friday and sat right down, but I have been there before and waited over an hour. One advantage to waiting is being able to browse the wine bottle selections. There are hundreds if not thousands of wines to look at. If you have to wait try picking a bottle and hiding the price, have your date guess the amount. There are bottles from $ 5 to $ 300. They always have great wine flights to choose from. Great way to try some new wines. After tasting, we ordered a bottle of our favorite red from the flight. After some cheese and wine, we both had the lobster pasta. It was absolutely amazing. Smaller portion, but I had nearly filled up on cheese and wine, so it was actually the perfect size. Nice romantic restaurant. Can’t recommend it enough. hope to go back soon!
