The owner is an idiot. He is rude as fuck, and he talks to his customers like they are stupid. He has to buzz the door for it to unlock and people to come in, well for some reason the door wasnt unlocking… he comes bustling outside, gets in my face and says«Can you not read what that sign says? what dont you understand about opening the door when i buzz you in… you obviously cant read» i explained that the door wasnt unlocking and he came back with, «It is unlocking you just dont know what youre doing.» Needless to say if my 4 year old wasnt at my side, id be in jail for knocking this dicks teeth out. Worst part is, he has tried to run for governor multiple times, but his ignorant, prick ass is too much of a loser to get any support. Idiot.

I just realized there are 2 listings for this business, so even though my other review is dated 1÷17÷2013, I thought it only fair to leave the same review on this other listing to make sure Sapp’s got credit for this review on both. The other day I came to this store for the first time. I’d made a small purchase and something else caught my eye. While looking at some items, a clean cut young man came in with a bike helmet, and asked to look at a handgun. The young man behind the counter obviously didn’t know how to properly handle the weapon and was touching and rubbing all over it with his dirty, greasy hands. The customer then asked about an accessory that shouldn’t cost more than $ 20. The ignorant clerk asked the owner for a price and he said it was $ 50. The customer smiled, then made a comment about raising the price just for him. The owner got seriously offended and kicked the guy out. Just told him to leave! The guy is a vet who served his country for 6 years overseas. He thought a private owner would be a more of a patriot and keep prices reasonable and affordable. The demand is higher these days & this store owner is taking advantage and raising his prices. If someone is new to gun ownership and ignorant to the usual cost of weapons, ammo & accessories, they may pay the price if they can afford it. If customers are not willing to pay the higher prices, he will have to bring them down if he wants to make the sale. This store owner helped me before the young man came in, but ended up leaving a bad impression burned in my eyes and ears. I left regretting I’d already spent some money there but grateful I didn’t end up spending several hundreds of dollars. So, if I had left before the young man came in, I would have given 5 stars out of ignorance as to the true character of this store owner. As it stands now, that was the first and the last time I will go there.

Since there appear to be two different pages for this business, I’m leaving the same review on both pages. Really don’t know why I’m not rating ONE. I suppose since they were not rude during the initial visit. So I used to be into archery in High School; as in the traditional target shooting with a recurve bow. I had mentioned to my boyfriend and another friend of mine that I was really interested in getting back into it. So my boyfriend decided that for my birthday he wanted to buy me a recurve bow. He went to this place since it has a big ARCHERY sign outside. Apparently the sign should really say BOWHUNTING, as this appeared to be all that they carried when he went in. However, the person working there said that they would be happy to order some recurves in. When they came in, they would call him and he could bring me in to get me all sized up with correct draw length, bow length, arrows, etc. This was about two weeks before my birthday and they told my boyfriend it would probably be in a couple days after that. About a week after my birthday had passed, no word from them. My boyfriend called and they said it would be a few more days. After over a MONTH beyond their promised arrival date and several phone calls, he decided to take his business elsewhere. They finally told him they some other orders to take of before his… even though they said they would get his in a couple days after my birthday. NOt once did they EVER initiate any contact with him. He really got the impression that because he wasn’t a bowhunter and not about to drop thousands of dollars on a compound hunting bow, that his business was not important to them. They promised a date and we were patient enough to wait an entire MONTH before we got fed up and went to Outdoor World in Orlando; which btw had everything we needed and set us right up… even though we’re not bowhunters. A great example of trying to support a local business but giving up after they make it clear that they don’t want your business. Terrible service. If you aren’t a bow hunter expect to be put on the back burner.

Not a very wide selection of firearms. Mostly used and overpriced junk and those clunky Saturday night specials. Had a decent, but expensive selection of ammo. One of the few places in Gainesville in which to purchase archery supplies.

Every year during archery hunting season I visit Sapps at least once. I cant speak for the«Pawn» side of there business. I always visit to have repairs done to my arrows… replace my fletchings, inserts or knocks. There price for repairs such as these are unbeatable. They have a really nice«archery department». They also have a large selection of guns for the hunter, collector, or weekend shooter. Sapps is quick with repairs and cheap. The only bad thing is that there is only one guy that works in the«Archery department» so if you need arrows to be repaired be sure you have some to shoot with in the meantime. The archery guy is good at what he does and depending on what time of year it is repairs are very quick. but pre-bowhunting season it can get rough. maybe a couple of days for him to get to your needed repairs. Bottom line is I have shopped here for years and will continue to and recommend them to anybody
