Best ice cream I’ve ever had. Had a banana split and thought it was heavenly. Learned the ice cream is homemade right there on the premises. Big choice of flavors. This place is just like an old fashioned ice cream parlor but better.

Honestly, this place has way too much hype. Pretty subpar. The ice cream is decent, and they have okay shakes/other desserts you can order from the menu. Otherwise, the only emotion that arises from this place is a very«meh» feeling.

For one of my few visits back to my alma mater, I wanted to return to the place where I fell in love with gourmet ice creams. My husband and I enjoyed some unique flavors of ice cream – mine had potato chips and caramel, his was something with cookies. What delicious ice cream and huge portions! Definitely a Gainesville favorite!

Sweet dreams are made of icecream flavors such as «fireball whiskey chocolate» and«baklava». Sweet dreams is delicious. My boyfriend strolled in on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed two scoops each. The flavors rotate and are delicious and unique– no paying for overpriced blue bell here. The service was wonderful and the attendant allowed us to sample an ample amount of flavors. While I don’t have kids, this place seems very family-friendly as well. Overall, my icecream was delicious and my experience divine.

Tasty icecream, and the flavors change every day! I got a birthday cake flavored milkshake, it was great. Staff was friendly and courteous, gave me a few samples, and offered a punchcard that gets you a free scoop after 8 purchases. Nice to know theres a great little uce cream parlor right around the corner!

One of the helpers was kind of cranky to the customer in front of us. The server was like, why did you do that or just pick that. Usually they have very nice helpers and there ice creams are the best!

I’ve cream lovers rejoice! Sweet Dreams is the best ice cream parlor in town. You’ll need that sweet fix to keep your spirits up, though, if you are trying to drive in and out of this plaza. Still, cut out of that fancy restaurant and bring your date here for dessert. The service is fast and friendly, and the specialty ice cream flavors provide a little something for every taste.

When I think about ice cream, I think of something sweet and savory while being light in a way. This place was what hit all of those points. It was an amazing way to end the day and the ice cream was amazing. I had a root beer float along with a honey cinnamon in a waffle cone. Both of those were fantastic. None of the flavors were overwhelming and there wasn’t too much cinnamon as I had feared there would be. At the end of the day Sweet Dreams is one of those creameries that you could only dream about.

Simple. If you come to Gainesville, you can’t leave before stopping at Sweet Dreams. As a Gainesville local, I cannot recommend this place enough. I love bringing my family here and the flavors are different all the time. Plus there’s always so many to choose from. The only thing that I’ve run into issue with here is the staff. Sometimes they can be rude.

Sweet Dreams is super awesome! I did some business with the owner Mike Manfredi who is an amazingly good guy. The employees are fun and friendly and are there to make sure you have a wonderful experience. They have this super cool thing called chocolate night which is so cool that you have to go check it out for yourself. Sweet Dreams is a Gainesville staple that I expect to be successful for years to come due to an incredibly fun culture and quality people!

Somebody’s in the back innovating pretty hard on the flavors. All we tried were terrific. I could be wrong, but it seems like the ice cream was a little less sweet than most of what I’ve had out there, another plus. Lots of portion options, with different sizes of scoop and scoop counts. And if you take it «for here» your served with real actual dishes and utensils, not plastic and styrofoam. Definitely worth a visit if you’re passing through.

An old school ice cream parlor with a 21st century twist! It doesn’t get much better yet simple than Sweet Dreams. They’ve been here for ions and still has that old timey ice cream parlor flair. The exception is their unique ice cream flavors!!! Anything you can imagine they can conjure up. And the flavors rotate!!! Have something wicked and spicy and next week have something from another planet. We had the Rose Petals & Raspberry Hibiscus cones. It’s all in the flavors and they have their technique down pat!

Unlike so many other things in life, Sweet Dreams will NEVER let you down! I’ve been here for 10 years, and I have never had ice cream anywhere in the world that could beat what you get right here in Gainesville! Sweet dreams is always on the«grand tour» of Gainesville for our out-of-town guests! As you enter the store, you are greeted by the adorable décor of the store, all hand-made and very unique, just like the ice cream! It is almost impossible to make a choice here, because every single flavor sounds delicious. One of the best features of Sweet Dreams is that their flavors are constantly being rotated and changed, so you never know what’s coming up next! The owner, Mike, is always coming up with new and innovative flavors to experiment with, such as kulfi, jalapeño lime sorbet, and spicy chocolate praline. One of the best times to check this place out is during their semi-annual chocolate nights, where there are 36 different flavors of chocolate ice cream! Some of my favorites include the brown sugar(Oreos, Heath bars, peanut butter, and caramel) and the italian coffee flavors. No matter what flavor you get, you will not be disappointed! Always delicious and served with a smile, Sweet Dreams’ ice cream cannot be beat!

I really love Sweet dreams! They have a variety of flavors that you’ve never heard/tried before because they make their own ice cream. Price is reasonable and not too bad. They also have multiple sizes and scoops for you to choose from. Also they sell milkshakes and other goodies like chocolate covered bananas. I’ve been here multiple times and haven’t been disappointed so far.

I’ve been to many custom gelato/ice creameries from NYC, Denver, Chicago Alaska, and Cincinnati, and this is definitely on par! But that isn’t why I’m reviewing Sweet Dreams. I first went there in 2004 when I lived in Gainesville. 2004 was a harrowing year, here in Gainesville. Late in the year, there were 4 hurricanes, and one(Ivan) even turned around and had a second chance. This was when Sweet Dreams made their attempt at a viable business in Gainesville. I talked to someone I assumed was one of the owners and couldn’t believe their horrible luck, opening an ice cream shop in the midst of the WORST hurricane season in Gainesville’s recent history. At the time, we went for a week without power, and in September, that sucked(Thanks Frances?!). But we got craft Ice Cream with a smile. That was special. Second time I’ve been back to Gainesville since I graduated in 2005, and I’m amazed/astounded that this(then) new place is still surviving/vibrant. Good for you! With the transient nature of restaurants in this town, I’m glad I can find you right where you were when I left. Kudos.

This is it! Look no farther. Great prices, luscious flavors from standard to creative Thai Sticky Rice. Friendly staff, different sizes of cups and cones, very generous in portions. Ice cream is delicious, home made, they also have some sherbets. Seating inside and out. Great for every age group and families.

Sweet Dreams has, hands down, the best ice cream I have tried in my entire life. To start, the ice cream is hand-made. They use legitimate ingredients and have a huge amount of control for variability and uniqueness in flavors because of this. From incredible traditional flavors like their«House Chocolate» to more unique spins, such as the«Guinness»(and yes, I do mean the beer), you are guaranteed to find something that will make you feel as though they made such a perfect flavor with you specifically in mind. Service has always been appropriately quick and friendly, they allow you to sample without starring you down in the process, and the place just smells heavenly from the waffle cones being made throughout the day. As far as take-home, you can get pints and quarts of any flavor you choose, so long as they actually have that flavor available(most flavors are rotated to something new once one runs out). In short: if you have not given this place your business, do so before you miss out.
