Home cooked taste. You cant get better taste and value for your $. Loved the Jalebi and their daily lunch buffet.

we ordered bhature over the phone, he said will be ready for half an hour and after waiting for one hour and ten minutes the order was ready and the food was not tasty, bhature were too thick, too much oily and hard. By the way, this place is so unhygienic. I’ll not go there again and do not recommend this to my friends.

The butter chicken here is very good, as is the lamb. The butter chicken is slightly spicier than I expected, but my mouth is watering just typing this. The naan was standard, and the mango lassi is good as usual. The only thing I was dissatisfied with is the owner. He stared and made it quite uncomfortable when I tried to pay for the food, as if he was expecting a large check. Got a jalebi to go and it wasn’t very good as far as desserts go.

I have been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years, both before and after it relocated from over by «Scuderi Auto Body» to its new digs in its own privately owned building which was previously the site of the Gaithersburg IL Forno Pizzaria. In the past 20 years, their quality has actually steadily improved, while maintaining rock bottom prices. The Pizza, which has changed, has also improved. It appears they use the NAAN bread formulation and in my humble opinion that makes for a massive improvement. I’ll be honest, there are two dishes you MUSTNOTORDER, and this list is going to look extremely unlikely. The coffee. I don’t know how they manage to break coffee, but they do. I’ve even offered them instruction, but really, just don’t. The other thing is the spaghetti. It’s always a disappointment. Outside of those two items, everything is fantastic. What to order: Gyros, Lamb Saag, Pizza, and their excellent Samosa. I have not tried their meatball sub, but I hear it is fantastic. The place is primarily used for takeout, but it can easily seat over 35 people. It is clean, quiet, and sedate. It features a large screen TV, and they will adjust the volume or channel if you request. Best of all, if you choose to sit down, they treat you like family. If you are planning a birthday,(and if you don’t have the taste for sushi) that most of my friends to, then this is the place to go. It is also great for small gatherings. Your friends will be amazed by how reasonably priced all the dishes are. I’m really ashamed of myself for taking this long to review them. One more thing. The tiny parking lot is often overcrowded. Fortunately the lot directly across the street is mostly vacant. I make it a point to park there instead.

We went there to try the samosas after reading all of the reviews on Unilocal. This is a family owned business setup in what was originally a pizza restaurant. Not the best ambiance and while it smelt delicious we did not order any food, but purchased a dozen samosas as a carry out order to take along with us to a party. The samosas were delicious and were a big hit! we can’t wait to visit this restaurant the next time we are in Gaithersburg. The sweet tamarind chutney is not included and while there is an extra charge for it this is still one of the best deals around. The credit card machine didn’t quite work so keep cash handy just in case.

The samosas here are awesome. I have gone quite a few times just to buy their samosas. I’ve also made big orders of samosas. I know that there is a lady who works there and she’s very easy and nice to talk to. She also gives the feeling that she knows how to regulate the place. The reason why I rate three stars is because of the man that works there most of the time. I always order under 10 samosas. When I order from the lady, she gives me a 10min time estimate and it only takes 10 minutes. However, when I order from the man, he estimates 10min, but it takes 15 to 20 minutes. Once I made an order of 15 samosas and he forgot about it. He also doesn’t exercise health precautions. He coughs onto his hands and doesn’t wash them. He also hangs up the phone before the conversation is even finished. He is only able to take care of one order at a time. When he has more than one order to handle, he’d forget about the other or get confused. I was really tempted to give this place two stars, but I’m not going to let one guy ruin the rating of this place. Samosas only take 10min to make by the kitchen. He just needs to give them the order and he can take care of other orders, but he can’t even do something that simple. I’ve been through restaurant life and I can see that he is not cut out for it.

Been looking forward to trying Metro Dhaba since we moved offices to the area, I was not disappointed. Ordered take out and the food was very well prepared and in decent amount of time. Had the Chicken Curry, Bengan Bartha(Egg plant roasted), rice, naan and some Samosas to share with co-workers back at the office. It was very tasty, perfect amount of aromatics and spices but not overly done where you can’t taste your food. The owner, she was very friendly and went above and beyond to make this first timer feel welcome in her restaurant. Will definitely be a regular there!

I have always been reluctant to write a proper review here because I do not want this place to become too mainstream. The adage of «you are what you eat» is true. It goes beyond the fact that the nutrient of the food fuel your body. The food you eat reveals your culture– personality, demographic, income. Likewise, the restaurants you eat at reveal more about you than you realize. There are some places that reveal little. There are some places that reveal a lot. Metro Dhaba is the kind of place that reveals a lot about you. Metro Dhaba is a very low-key restaurant that you will not be able to find unless you are a local junkie. It is located in a private parking lot tucked at the entrance of a neighborhood. You can see it heading north on 355, but you may not notice it or think much of it because it is not the most eye-popping of restaurants on the exterior. The interior is simple. They do not attempt to wow you with its décor, but welcome you with a friendly environment that is far from pretentious. Metro Dhaba is owned and managed by Joginder and his loving wife. He is a kind man who graciously welcome all his customers. They bring the taste of Northern India to Gaithersburg. But wait, they also bring the taste of Italian! Metro Dhaba used to be located in Rockville but they moved over to Il Forno Pizzeria storefront. That is why there are both Italian and Indian food here. Back to my thesis and less about its cuisine, Metro Dhaba reveals your character. The regulars who come here are simple people. They are open-minded and willing to try new cuisine. They support local businesses. They have good taste. You don’t come here trying to be on your high horse. You don’t come here to pretend you are of a higher social class. You come here for delicious, complex flavors for a cheap price. It is the place you come to if you just want good food. If you can bring a boyfriend or girlfriend here then that shows that you are far along in your relationship. It shows that you are comfortable with them and no longer feel the need to impress them with a fine-dining establishment, but can have just as much fun and feel just as much as a King and a Queen than a place where your waiter caters to you every second. Metro Dhaba is more than just a restaurant to me. It is a way of living for me. The food here runs deep in my arteries and the memories I have because of this place define who I am.

We saw 4 stars and were fooled to step in. The food was really bad quality. Not bad tasting, just plain stale and old food was served. The salted lassi jar smelled like some foul odour. I understand it’s cheap but cheap doesn’t mean serving stale old food to your customers. The place is decent for just sitting. The old couple who runs the place are sweet. But sorry to say it’s not a place where you should eat food from.

The restaurant is very reasonably priced and the food offered is delicious. Samosa and Jalebi were excellent and so was the main course-Malai Kofta, Bhindi and Naan. Loved the Mango Lassi too. Service was good and the owner courteous.

Ambience — 2⁄5 Main course — 3.5÷5 Appetizers/Desserts — 5⁄5 If you are looking for a nice place to sit, this will not be the one. If you care just about good food, you’ve landed in right place. Owner was so courteous and nice to talk to while I was waiting for my food. Samosas were too good. Seriously, best in MD I had so far. I took main course to-go but it wasn’t that excellent. But Samosas, and Jalebi made my day. After so long I had such good samosas that it made up for ok-ok food. Will definitely visit again.

The food was okay, but the service was inconsistent. The first time I came her, the Shahi paneer with rice was $ 4.00. About two weeks later, I had to pay 1.50 more for rice. One day, the take-out lunch buffet is $ 6. The lady is very friendly, and gives me hot bread to go once I’m done filling my take-out box. The next time I come for the buffet, the man charges a take-out price that is based on the weight of my filled box. Samosas, which are apart of the buffet, is charged as extra. They obviously charge you based on how they feel about you.

We had the buffet. The food tasted good. The buffet is one table and functional but not fancy. I was very pleased with their $ 5.99 buffet. The owner brought out two baskets of naan, and was very friendly.

I have never had anything here besides the samosas. And for 50 cents a samosa, there is nothing else I need. They are excellent here! Right amount of spice, not overbearing in flavor. Can’t beat that anywhere in the area. It is my go to for potlucks.

Lunch buffet was excellent. Butter chicken and daal stood out. I tried and really liked everything. Naan was delicious. They also served their vegetable samosas, which were just as good as I remembered. My friend’s mother used to get them for special occasions from Metro Dhaba. It had been over 10 years since I had them. Extremely delicious Indian cuisine at a great price. The owner was very nice and welcoming. I can’t wait to go back for lunch.

This is my most sought place when I crave for some Indian snack or quick dinner in the area. The place has lot of space to sit and dine. I can guarantee that you cannot find any other Indian restaurant where you can have dinner below $ 10 with 2 dish :-). I like their bread they are freshly baked and huge . The dishes are fine, but I wish if they can make the curry little thick to have it with bread :-). I’ve seen many people taking out orders while I was dinning.

The samosas and naan at Metro Dhaba exceed expectations. The naan is quite frankly as good as the naan in London. It is so tasty, reminding me of the excellent naan at Amaya and Zaika. The buffet features a variety of vegetarian and meat items, and includes samosas, mint and tamarind chutneys, naan, and pickle. Plus it’s only $ 6. Metro Dhaba is the place to be.

If I tell you that their samosas are hands down the BEST samosas in the DMV area, I will not be lying. I am a bit of a samosa connoisseur myself now, and my perfect samosa has to be the right size, right amount of filling, crispy and yummy, the filling MUST haves peas and the accompanying sauce should be just the right amount of tangy and spicy. Take it from me — this place delivers on every samosa front and then some more! All that UNDER a $ 1??? Can I have 5 dozen please??! I refuse to let the dilapidated place itself or the fact that they make a weird«Indian» pizza with Garam Masala sprinkled all over deter me from giving this place the perfect rating — the samosa is just da bomb! The owners I think are really nice — given the fact that I visit this place so often, I know them now. Also, don’t get me wrong, their pizza is great — it is just isn’t Indian enough(even with the garam masala sprinkled all over) Now that I have moved to Silver Spring, I know my visits to this place will reduce, but I will still always be a fan! I would frankly stay away from the sweets they make — I am not a fan at all. Also, I cant really comment on any other food they have, because I can never order anything BUT the samosas here! :)
