Pretty good place. The food was fresh and the place was clean, something you don’t find too often with buffets. The only reason I gave 4⁄5 is because the trays were constantly empty. To be fair it just meant the food was being replenished often but when you’re in there for about 30 minutes it makes it hard to grab the stuff you like. Will return!

Delicious fresh food. Excellent value. Don’t understand why the bad reviews are there. We were very happy and the price was unbearable. $ 9. Great deal!

We had General Tsao’s chicken and roast pork egg foo yung. Both came with pork fried rice. Although the rice was light in color which can be a bad sign sometimes, the rice was tasty. No green onions, it had yellow onion which was odd to me. My wife liked the Tsao, which was sweet and spicy. My egg foo was good, the gravy was excellent consistency, but it did taste like it had some sugar in it, which drops it a couple notches for me. I dislike sugar in oriental food. I did notice that neither the fried rice nor egg foo had any oriental veges in them, such as bean sprouts or water chestnuts. The waitress said there is not a good source for oriental veges around Galena. Our food was fresh, unlike what some of the other reviewers had stated.

Don’t even bother going here. If you are from Chicagoland area or have ever had authentic Chinese food you will be disappointed. Even Panda Express does better. We went here on a whim and both got sick(stomach cramps, diarrhea and you get the idea). The food was bland and scarce. The seafood was even cold when it should not be served that way. The waitress asked if she should have the chef cook more food. When you have half empty trays I think that the answer is obvious. We just left hungry. Please, spare your stomachs and taste buds!

It was ok. The price was good. Some of the items were good like the crab rangoon and the cream puffs. We arrived at 1130 am and food must have been sitting for awhile because the top layer was cold despite being in warming trays. Not truly authentic but not too bad

My buddy and I were up in Galena on a motorcycle trip and couldn’t decide what we wanted. Neither of our phones had service so we decided to just ride until we found something suitable. We decided on a McDonald’s but as we pulled into the parking lot, we stumbled across this gem. We weren’t sure what to expect, but overall we were pretty pleased. The place is pretty clean and the food was pretty fresh. There weren’t a lot of people yet, but they were refilling the food as it went down. There were quite a few options including a sushi bar which was mainly crab meat selections. But still not bad. There were the typical Chinese dishes. Hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, sweet and sour chicken, pepper steak, general’s chicken etc etc. Crab rangoons, sweet donuts, chicken and brocolli. The desserts were ok. Nothing spectacular. It was a good value and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly too.

I eat here all the time, the food and selection is always nice. The woman who’s always there, I think she’s the owner, she works hard. I say to her, I like when the green beans get all mushy, but she says no that’s not good, but that’s how I like my green beans, she’s always shucking boxes of them. Sometimes they have sushi fish rolls, nothing fancy. They always have ice cream and cakes for desert. It’s like $ 12 for dinner buffet with beverage, cheap and good. They also sell the buffet by the pound for take out. Then they have a regular menu with specials that are a great value, for dine in and take out.

A nice little inexpensive restaurant with friendly employee. Went here on a wednesday at about 7pm during the winter, the restaurant didnt seem very busy. I came from the chicago area for a visit and i’m used to the bigger busier chinese buffet. The food at this restaurant seemed like its been sitting out for some time, the white rice especially was either old or not cooked the right way. The soup has that nice layer that forms after sitting around. The hot and sour and egg drop seemed to taste good anyway. The other foods just seemed okay, nothing special, but it was filling. Considering the price I don’t think its too bad of a deal in comparison to the culver’s restaurant I ate at during lunch. Would I eat here again? most likely, if i was hungry enough. I’d probably try to come earlier and at a busier time maybe the food will be fresher.

Looking for an inexpensive dinner in Galena, we found Beijing Buffet. We found the buffet to be clean and well stocked. I especially enjoyed the many seafood options. The food was tasty and hot with the exception of the steamed dumplings which were not kept hot. The biggest let-down was the dessert line. While all of the desserts looked tasty and fresh, the dip well that keeps the ice cream scoop clean was not functioning. Nothing says, «None for me, please», like a serving spoon sitting in a stagnant pool of warm, milky water.
