Cruz Cortez Clothiers

As my husband and I are driving into Galveston for our 12 year anniversary cruise, we both realized that we forgot the garment bag… that held our dress clothes for cruise elegant night. We had reservations at the steakhouse for that night, our actual anniversary. We found Cruz Cortez Clothiers and went to the shop. The door was locked! But after 15 seconds came to the door and asked, «So what did you forget?» He hadn’t intended to be open due to the busy Mardi Gras weekend, but was there waiting on another customer. We told him our tale and he immediately went to work. Cruz could tell my husband’s size just by looking at him and found the perfect shirt and pants. He even set us up with a seamstress who hemmed the pants quickly so we could hurry up and get on board. Cruz was the nicest man and funny too. If you shop at his store, you’ll have a great experience.

Wife and I saw an add in a galveston magazine with a picture of Mangum PI and his red hawaiian shirt. I HAD TO HAVE THAT SHIRT lol. We went down and walked in and immediately were greeted by Cruz. just a great guy with a great little store with a fantastical selection of hawaiian print shirts…
He also does hats, dress shirts, rents formal wear.
As I was talking to him he noticed a man walking down the street and said «hold on one second «And he ran behind the counter and got a pair of pants and ran them out to the man. I remember thinking «wow how is that for service»
He also told us how I could save my old hawaiian shirts and frame parts of the fabric as he had on display in the store and my wife loved it.
I ended up buying a beautifully loud black and green and purple shirt with parrots that I wore to my neighbors Christmas party. There were some laughs but secretly I knew they were all jealous I had the guts to wear it.
It was nice to meet Cruz and nice to contribute to the local island economy. He had some great Mardi Gras shirts so I know I will be back

Cruz sized my husband as we walked through the door and sold us 4 dress shirts that fit him perfectly. I’m sure my husband will visit Mr. Cortez the next time he visits Galveston and needs clothes. Plus, he’s super-​friendly!
