Mario’s Pizza

This place is terrible. Do NOT order the Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms. This dish was so weird that we actually drove back to the restaurant to tell them this was not what we ordered. It was a huge container of really hot white liquid with 4 tiny little mushrooms in the bottom. And when I took it back the guy stood there and argued with me telling me there are 4 little mushrooms in the bottom there. NEVER AGAIN! They didn’t even give us silverware!
Did you think we were going to drink that weird mess???

Amazing food, amazing people. We had Shane as our server and he was very friendly and very attentive. MUST TRY!

This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is great, small place, fast service. The pizza was delicious, with super fresh ingredients and the best crust!!! Soooo good! Garlic bread with cheese is a must. The marinara wasn’t your typical marinara sauce, it was rich and full of flavor. We saw chicken parm at our neighbor table, we will be back to try it. Looked amazing.

Online ordering from my phone on the beach and have fresh hot food delivered to our vacation house an hour later?!? Cannot beat that. We always order from Marios when we are in Galveston and are never disappointed.
The calamari is good, and we’ve tried all their pizza combos and all are good. No, this isn’t comparable to NYC pizza but for a tiny place in Galveston that delivers? All the stars in all the land.
Keep it up Marios, see you next summer.

Pizza was excellent, crust was perfect and plenty of cheese. Had a Hawaiian and a build your own with sausage and pepperoni. Very much worth the cost. ⁵⁄₅.
Only complaints are very limited seating and up to an hour wait for the pizzas since it was busy. It was worth the wait, just plan for it or you could call ahead.
Got lucky and got a table and service was great.

Crazy busy when we arrived on a Tuesday evening. The wait for the stromboli took a while, but the waiter let us know about it taking a while, which was very nice. The pizza and stromboli was worth the wait. Everyone was nice considering how busy they were. We recommend this place.

Ordered pizza. Showed up at appropriate time to pick up. Told it would be another 30 minutes. Came back 45 minutes later. Told it would be another 10 minutes. Total miss on time estimates and rude. Total time spent= 1.5 hours and no pizza.

Awesome pizza. Had the meatball special pizza, and a chicken fajita pizza. Both we some of the best pizza ive had. Medium thinkness on the crust, fresh tasting ingredients. Nice to see a good quality pizza place on the west end of galveston. I ordered to go, but they deliver. Pretty much gonna be my go too from now on out here.

Best pizza in town. Even better than the 61 St and Seawall locations. Love this place. Hope they expand seating. Go before 4 pm. Usually crowded afterwards.

Had a big order before they closed, and they made it and delivered! Very good pizza!!!

Ordered pizza for pickup on a Fri night at 7pm. It was ready in 30 minutes.
Had a carnivore pizza, a 5 cheese pizza, and a veggie pizza. The cheese was the best (our group was all adults, so no kid vote on the cheese).
The pizzas were average but the Greek salad was particularly good with large chunks of cucumbers, firm tomatoes, olives, and feta cheese.

Crust=10
Sauce =10+
Cheese — 4. Could definitely have been more brown.
Toppings– 6. Fresh and plentiful but also could be crisper.
Not sure how to achieve crispier toppings and brown or cheese because the crust was done perfectly.
Service was great and all in all definitely worth a return visit!

While we were staying at the Holiday Inn Vacation Club Galveston Beach resort we got in late and didn’t want to get dinner, we looked around and had the hardest time finding delivery that would come as far as the resort, then I found Mario’s here on Unilocal.
I ordered online which was painless, we got a large pizza light sauce and mozzarella sticks; estimated delivery time 60 minutes, awesome.
45 minutes later a knock at our resort door the pizza was there and hot, great! Open it up to see the sauce was still fairly heavy and not light. Other than that the pizza was delicious, ample amount of cheese, good flavored cheese, nice crust, crispy bottom, and good tasting sauce at least. The mozzarella sticks didn’t quite fair the travel so well, typical of dried food but still had a great taste.
Overall ⁴⁄₅ stars, would’ve totally been ⁵⁄₅ if they had done light sauce as requested. I’ll gladly eat there again when we’re back on the island.

We went to Mario’s for dinner. We got there early and got seated right away. The staff was super friendly, although we could tell our server was not feeling well. The food was very good, came quickly and was hot. But the order was not right. I got the wrong fish and my husband got meatballs when he ordered sausage. I got Italian dressing when I ordered ranch. He apologized over and over, and we totally understood and I felt sorry for the guy. I told him to go home and feel better, and we may go back despite the mixup.

Absolutely hands down the best pizza I have ever eaten! Great service, very nice staff. Will definitely be back!

Looks good, but it is closed Monday’s. It’s not noted anywhere but on the door. Make sure you plan ahead.

Great little spot at Pirates Beach area in Galveston. Call 30 – 45 min in advance for pizza orders. They will deliver or you may pick up. There is a small seating area which is close quarters but fine for a small restaurant.
Amazing pizzas! Lasagna is good. Chopped salad very flavorful and fresh. Generous portions.

When Marios first opened they struggled with managing their restaurant and delivery. My first review of Marios reflected that. We have been back, several times, and I am happy to update my review to reflect that they have worked out their business plan and do a wonderful job at managing their deliveries and also their restaurant.
Their food has always been delicious. We often order their meatballs and a variety of pizzas.
We enjoy having this Italian spot on the west end and hope it does well.

So happy to have a restaurant on the West End. Quaint, casual, perfect.
The menu is limited but they have great pizza, salads, some main courses and pasta.

After a long day at the beach a great pizza just hits the spot! Most pizza joints will not deliver out to the West End, but these guys will go all the way to the western tip of Galveston Island. The only downfall in my opinion is they only deliver after 5pm. This was an unwelcome surprise when we were watching the Texans game and watching the waves while craving a delicious pizza.
Mario’s on the West End also has a dining room with great service. The pizzas took awhile to cook and the dining room was a little on the small side. Even when we visited in the off season (November), the place had a wait by 7pm.
It would also be nice if they had some high def televisions on game days, but with the small dining room they probably would like to keep the crowd moving.
Great place to drop in and get a pizza to go. This place could earn that 5^th star with a larger dining area and TVs.
