Crooked Fence

This is just to thank the guy working on Saturday. We drove up with our baby asleep in the car seat. We already expected to be barred from the establishment if we had a baby, but I asked my wife to go inside and ask, just in case. The gentleman at the bar said, sure, we were all welcome. So we woke our baby up from his sweet slumber, where he would have peacefully stayed and we could have at least taken turns going into the place and drinking a pint with our friends. As we removed him from his car seat, he rushed outside saying something like, «On second though, no babies allowed.» Awesome. Cut to me in the car dealing with our angry child for the next hour, when I could have spent that time taking junk pics and sending them to my wife while she tried to enjoy a pint. If you want, see the angry «talk» post I finally wrote, for my hate against this ridiculously stupid law. We were meeting friends, who were so vicariously angered by this, that we all left and went to Barbarian. And, believe me, they would have been able to enjoy the junk pics as well.
Please inform you employees of this law so they can properly inform us or, next time, I’m showing up with a bag of dirty diapers.

I am hoping that this Unilocal review will bring in enough business to help Bryce replace his sad duct-​taped flip phone. The service was prompt and courteous! The beer was tasty. I was a little disappointed that the only IPA was the Whiskey Barrel aged which is not my favorite but I know it was just one time and I don’t think it is worth discounting the entire experience because one beer was out of stock! Bryce kept us entertained throughout the evening and was really great. Overall it was a really fun evening and good times were had by all!

I tried out the Crooked Fence Tasting Room and had an extraordinary experience! The beer selection was great and accompanied by cool artwork on the labels, the bar’s regulars were all very welcoming, and they have a great growler fill promotion every Saturday! But the best experience by far was meeting the head brewer and getting to talk with him about the beer!

Great local brewery. I love their 3 Picket Porter and Rusty Nail Pale Ale. Saturdays between 12 – 2 they have great deals on growler fills.

I don’t usually review places but this one really let me down. I heard how great it was from multiple people and we finally decided to go ourselves. My beer was warm by the time it came to our table from the bar, the service was terrible… And both of our burgers were burnt… Like really burnt. I would have talked to a manager… But I didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes for our waitress to show up at our table again. Big disappointment.

Can’t say I like the beer. Had a four sampler one was good two were ok and one tasted like sewer water. I hate to knock a local place so I suggest you try the sampler and make up your own mind.

I don’t normally write reviews, yet here I am sitting at work day dreaming about THE most delicious cheeseburger to ever occupy my taste buds. The glazed cheeseburger is nothing short of greatness. A glazed donut cut in half, each side sandwiching together perfection. 2 thick sliced of candied bacon atop a very cheesey-​burger. Mmmm mmm mmm is it good!!! I recommend trying the beer flight as well. 4 of your choices, for 4 bucks. Both my date and I had our own meals and flights and were out the door for under $ 40! If I wasn’t in a serious relationship I would be trying to settle down with crooked fence and take the next step. I’m officially smitten by them.

The beer was marginal, the service was below average and the food was just tolerable. With this level of mediocrity, it’s too bad CFB isn’t contributing to Boise’s growing craft beer scene.

Looking for a great brew with matching ambiance? This is the place to go. Has what I think of when it comes to an Irish pub feel with a lot of raw/​reclaimed wood. The staff is absolutely amazing and really enjoy their jobs.
They are very active in the community with all sorts of fun events, giveaways, food truck nights, concerts, community clean ups, you name it.
I realize I haven’t even reviewed their beer yet. Have no fear, my amazement with their ambiance and community involvement is only second to how much I enjoy their beer. It’s hard to really describe their beer, other than a great taste with a fresh finish. They continue to turn out amazing beers and I haven’t been disappointed in any of them yet. My favorite is their 3 Picket Porter, I moved away and now have my parents grab a case when they come to visit me in CA.

LOVE LOVE LOVE their beer! I haven’t been to the tasting room (yet) but I was super excited to see their brews being offered in the local grocery store. Find this beer and DRINK IT!
