A 1 Smog Test Only

Believe it or not, this is the only «test only» station listed in the area on the govt «Bureau of Automotive Repair» website

I called here after getting a price of $ 40.00 from a couple of other places, and was told the test cost was $ 39.95 (plus certificate cost which was the same everywhere), so as it was no further I thought why not save the 5 cents? He told me to come right away as he was free and gave me detailed directions as he is a little off the street. He is off Katella, west of Euclid, on the south side by an Animal Hospital. You turn in and head for the small strip mall in the back. Park out front and walk in the office door. They have a not too small bare bones waiting room with a great fan running (which made for a much appreciated cool room in this heat), a few magazines and a TV.
Mr. Bararti took my keys, drove my car around back and did the test. Before I knew it, he had driven my car back around the front and the test was done. He had a very friendly manner, explained everything on the test results sheet, pointed out the DMV particulars, and even said some very nice things about the state of my excruciatingly old car — a much loved Volvo from the early 1990’s. In this all too grumpy world it was nice to get a smile and a compliment from the guy doing my this-​is-​a-​pain-​in-​the-​butt smog check.
