Fire sauce was really spicy but still very good. Service was excellent, guys were very attentive and clear about explaining how everything worked on the menu. Pretty far from me to be a regular, but is still a place I would go to again if in the area. Oysters were definitely an A+.

Came here on a whim Saturday night and it was fairly empty, which I was happy about Bc I figured better service for me FOOD: Garlic noodles — pretty good they’re spaghetti noodles but the sauce was yum 3 lbs seafood combo — crawfish(small bc not in season but at least they were fresh), clam(majority of them were not in the shell bc they fell out), shrimp The sauce was good and I liked that they poured everything into a metal bowl rather than the plastic bag Cajun fries — FREE if u check in on Unilocal(they were ok but they’re free so I’m not complaining) Cajun garlic fries — tasted the same as the Cajun fries but with garlic sprinkled on top 6 fresh oysters — my sister said they were ok(I didn’t eat any) Service: Checked up on us a couple times and my water was always refilled! Overall had a good experience but nothing amazing. I still prefer Hot n Juicy however I would come back here.

*** Give me some Fire Crabs…(Garden Grove) *** Gotta say it’s a catchy name for an establishment :-) Once again this is an establishment I’ve passed by many times, but never paid any attention to. My brother in-law and his girlfriend invited me to hang out for some food and drinks. My first impression is that it’s a cool place to hang out. The interior has a rustic feel and makes for a good place for hip folks to pass time. This place reminds me of a boiling crab, but more geared towards drinking and watching sports on the multiple TV screens on the wall above. Here’s what I liked… * The crawfish and shrimp was pretty good. The sauce is very close to the flavor of the Boiling Crab, but minus the crazy lines. If you’ve eaten at the boiling crab, you’ll notice that sometimes the shrimp is soggy and not crisp when bitten. That is no bueno. On the other hand I noticed right away that the shrimp served here is crisp with every bite down to the last shrimp. That perhaps is an indicator of the fresh product they serve. * The shared parking lot is large. Even though there were a lot of cars, I’m sure it wouldn’t be difficult to cruise the lot looking for space. * The service was very good. Having dealt with a lot of places locally with poor service, I make it a point to identify places with GREAT service! This is one of those places :-) Here’s what I didn’t like… * There’s really nothing that comes to mind. If you want to have a few drinks with family or friends this is a cool place to do so. The time I visited the crowd appeared very low-key and not the«rowdy» type :-) Food = very good Service = very good Seating area = very clean Restroom = clean

I came here on a double date and I was kind of disappointed with my experience. I don’t think their sauce is as good as Boiling Crab. They were also out of the 2 types of oysters we asked for. Their cheesy fries weren’t that good, just go get a bag of cheese Cheetos. That’s what the cheese powder tasted like. I don’t think it’s anything special nor do they have anything special to offer. We ordered the Mix and Match 3 items for 33.99 and 3 sides of fries and half a dozen oysters. Our total came out to be $ 60.99 that night plus tip and that included the complimentary Cajun fries from the Unilocal check in. I don’t think I will return to this place. For the sauce we got the combined garlic, lemon, whatever, everything. It wasn’t very memorable. The only thing I remembered was that we got clams, shrimp, and crawfish and that I got a few empty clam shells with only garlic inside. The sauce had a whole bunch of garlic pieces. Just garlic and garlic and garlic. That’s basically what stood out to me, and that they didn’t have the oysters we asked for and didn’t have the second type we asked for and so we just deferred to what the waitress suggested. The service is ok and the food wasn’t terrible, I just think it wasn’t that good and didn’t stand out to be memorable.

My sister bought a groupon deal so we came here to check the place out. It’s located next to Byul Daepo Korean BBQ. At Saturday noon, the whole strip mall is pretty empty. We were seated right away. Our intention is to try as many items and since it’s similar to Boiling Crab, we naturally tried to compare. Fire sauce — definitely different taste than Boiling Crab. The fact that they has option to add baguette to soak up the sauce was very nice. We ordered the 2 lbs king crabs and 2 lbs shrimps with fire sauce mild. It’s very good. Only complain is the king crab isn’t very meaty. 1 lb clams and 2 addition lbs king crabs in garlic butter. Only complain is the clams weren’t clean very well. My first bite had sands and just leaves bad taste. As for raw oysters, they have quite a few selections and we chose kumamoto. it’s smaller than what is usually served at Boiling Crab but the flavor was excellent. So sweet tasting. The fresh horseradish separate from the cocktail sauce was nice touch. I was going to have just 2 but ended up having 3 oysters because it was so yummy. Their garlic noodle(plain) was excellent. The noodles were al dente and nice amount of garlic. I think it’s probably the best garlic noodle we’ve ever had. As far as wings, we tried the bbq, lemon pepper and fish sauce. I like the fish sauce wings because it was so different. My husband likes the lemon pepper. The weakest is probably the bbq. I think the other two overpower it. Overall, the wings are huge. Fried calamari is another excellent item. Light batter and very tasty. Their garlic fries and cajun fries were good. Overall, we really wish it was a little closer to us. Wish it was like in Diamond Jamboree Center. Granted we were the only party in the restaurant for over 1 hour so the kitchen basically only concentrated on our orders. Would be nice to see when it’s busy and how the taste is compared. Overall, the food is very good. My family and I really enjoy it.

I’m from San Diego and was up in the area for a business trip. I had a craving for seafood and this place was right down the street from my hotel. I already did my research, so I already knew what I wanted when I called in my to go order. I got 1 lb. of king crab legs($ 23.99), 1 lb. of crawfish(forgot the price for live crawfish) and an order of garlic Cajun fries — all in the fire sauce, mild. Crab legs and crawfish were very good. The sauce was full of flavor and definitely had a good amount of garlic in there. My only complaint would be the fries. The Cajun seasoning was so salty, I ended up just tossing the fries. Would I return? Not sure, since there are a ton of competitors in the area. Note — Parking can be hard to find since it seems the plaza gets pretty busy. Beware of some spots that are limited only to 20 minutes!

Came here with the groupon deal, you cannot use more than one promo! Meaning you can’t get an order of free fries if you’re using the groupon LOL I believe we got the deal for like 30 dollars??? I can’t quite remember but we had three pounds of shrimp, some corn, and some sausages. the corn was AHHMAZING! So sweet and then the sauce balances it out, you can only pick one sauce and one spicyness cause they mix everything all together. We also ordered the cajun garlic noodles, tbh these were whatever I mean yeah the first bite was good cause me and my boyf were freaking starving but the taste got too repetitive so we didn’t finish it esp. since we had the shrimps and stuff. Also, the noodles are a little too soft for my liking): They also checked up on us which was cool! It wasn’t busy so maybe they had time too. also when you are outside in the parking lot the aroma of Korean BBQ fills the air. my boyf almost wanted that instead because of the aroma but I had to remind him that we had a groupon LLOL.

UPDATE, Well these are the types of updates I dont like to do… from 5 stars down to 2. i’d give it a 1.5 if I could.. I ordered on Eat 24 app and my food was ready when i got there which was great. When i got home and started to dig in the first few shrimp tasted good and were easy to peel. As i went farther into the bag of shrimp and sausage, the shrimp got worse and worse. The shrimp were squishy, fell apart and just weren’t good. I really used to like this place but it was short lived. Original: Fire Sauce! gotta love that stuff. I was nearby and hit the«near by» button on Unilocal and after scrolling through a page or two i found the Fire Crab. I’ve been craving some messy good cajun style shrimp for a while so i gave it a shot. Luckily the restaurant has an order online button, which also works with mobile phones. I placed my order for 1 pound of shrimp, spicy, with the Fire Sauce option, which is a mixture of all the seasonings, and 6 pieces of sausage. I placed this order to go and the order was ready by the time i got there which is about 5 minutes. The seasoning was perfectly hot and spicy just like i want, and with all the seasonings mixed together there is a ton of flavor. The sausage slices were pretty good and mixed well with the seasonings. I was thinking twice about ordering this To-Go since i’ve been to similar restaurants and I know how messy this can get. My order was double bagged and they included a sheet of butcher paper which came in very handy to contain the splashes, splatters and shrimp parts. The order also came with 2 cups of salt and pepper with a hand full of limes. Overall it was a good experience, and next time i’ll have to dine in and make a mess of their table instead of my own.

It is a nice friendly spacious place. I was there couple months ago when they have deals on Groupon. Their seafood fresh, delicious. Especially is fresh oysters. They have many kinds. So fresh. 1 dozen is $ 22. Delicious oyster shooter only $ 4. Live Crawfish is $ 10. I surprise that only us dine-in here today at Saturday. There are more people ordering to go and pick up. Today I’m down o. c to have hot pot with family, then head to Paris baguette for some tea and cakes. I still hungryg LOL, so we went here and order 1 dozen oyster, 1 pounds live Crawfish and 2 oyster shooter. 5 Star for this place.

Accidentally bought a Groupon here and it was going to expire soon so took a friend! Came on a Friday night and the place was half full? Got seated right away with bibs and everything like the lemon and salt/pepper mix. What we got: Passion Fruit Tea($ 4): big mason jar of passion fruit tea! Definitely can share between 2 people. Couldn’t really taste the passion fruit though… Cajun Garlic Fries($ 4): super cajun-y and garlic-y! Nice and crispy too and my friend loved it! 1 lb Mild Fire Sauce Shrimp($ 11): so the fire sauce is a mix of all their sauces, but I wasn’t a big fan of it. Mild gave it more of a kick that I thought, but it wasn’t too spicy. Comes in a bag which they then pour out into a metal bowl for you. I like that so then I can soak my shrimp in their sauce. Big shrimps too! Counted them and it came to around 20 shrimps. Service: Our server was nice, but I didn’t see him that often. Brought us our food and never really came back. Took us awhile to flag someone down to bring us the check and to get our change back.

We are here because they have live crawfish when it isn’t crawfish season. It is understandable that the crawfish is small, however, the texture is not quite right. Our first round crawfish was a little soggy as if it was old like from the day before and they just re-cooked it. The second round however was definitely fresh, the meat are more firm. Maybe if we gone a little later we could have the fresh patch ;) The sauce is a little salty and not spicy at all(we order extra spicy). This place is the first place that did not come with corn even when we order 2 lbs at a time. I guess we should have order their package. The oyster is definitely fresh. The décor is very simple with amber of seating. Service was excellent and friendly. Overall, food is 2 stars but the service make up for the other star.

I went here on Friday night with my husband. They had a great Groupon deal, which they let us use along with the Unilocal check-in that scores free cajun garlic fries. This was awesome. They even got me a new beer when I dropped part of one(two tables were joined and there was a sheet on top, server recognized that under these circumstances, lots of people don’t notice the gap because it is hidden). They constantly checked up on us. They got us waters. They smiled. They chatted with us from time to time. Like many people, we got the 3 pounds of seafood(all shrimp) with sausage, corn and potatoes. It was so much spicy deliciousness filled in just one bowl. The whole experience was wonderful. Note: I previously wrote about my disappointment when I had lots of leftovers the next day and while eating them, I realized there were lots of shrimp that were not deveined. I recently got a message from a fellow Unilocaler who told me that this was the norm in Cajun restaurants because the shell is still on. This makes sense to me and I had never been to such a restaurant before so my expectation that shrimps will always be deveined was perhaps not correct. I have updated my review to reflect this. If this bugs you(like it bugged me!) then you might find this note helpful. If it does not bug you, this place is awesome!

I bought a Groupon for this spot so I stopped by on a Sunday to try it out. It was pretty empty, so we got seated right away. I got two lbs of shrimp with their fire sauce and mild. I also got a free order of their cajun fries, with your Unilocal check in. The fries were okay, not the best cajun fries but they were crispy. They serve their seafood in metal bowls, which is a nice touch. It made it easier to eat out of then the plastic bags. My bf really enjoyed their shrimp! Their service was great here! They checked on us often to refill our waters. Also, they were easy with the Groupon.

Go here if you are craving cajun seafood but you realize that you didn’t plan accordingly to go to Boiling Crab. My boyfriend and I wanted BC but it was 7 pm on a Saturday night… which means we would be waiting 2 hours before we would be able to stuff our faces. So we found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a shot! This is what we ordered: 1. Garlic Cajun fries(with EXTRA garlic) — very crispy and flavorful. There was so much garlic in the basket that I was just eating the garlic with a fork. I swear I ate half a bulb of garlic that evening. 2. Cajun garlic noodles(with sausage $ 1 + shrimp $ 3) — a bit too oily for me but it was good 3. ½ lb shrimp in Medium Fire Sauce — the shrimp was perfectly cooked and the sauce was a thick garlic sludge with a touch of curry. Their medium spicy was perfect for me. I like that they serve their shrimp in a metal bowl because it’s easy to grab without getting your arms saucy. The staff was very attentive and the food comes out fast! Also the place is never packed so I would say this place is a great alternative to Boiling Crab and Kicking Crab if you’re in a pinch to eat.

My friend and I decided to come here on a Thursday evening and there wasn’t any wait. We immediately were seated and proceeded to order. The service here was quite attentive, which is a great thing, but the food lacked otherwise. To me, the crawfish seasoning was too bland and lacked that extra OOMPH. We also ordered the garlic noodles with clams and the clams tasted rancid when it came out =(We told them and they took it off our bill. What I did like was the fact that it came out in a bowl so it was easy to mix and you don’t have to get your arms dirty by reaching into a bag. I think it’s worth it if you have a Groupon deal to use, otherwise I would have to pass.

My party arrived a little before 9 on a Friday night and the restaurant was completely empty besides for one other table. As we were seated we were informed that they were out of live crawfish but had frozen ones for $ 7.99. Not a big deal since we’re not big crawfish eaters. We started off with two orders of cajun garlic fries and they quickly came out a few minutes later. My first few fries were a bit too salty but that eventually went away and they had a good flavor and the garlic wasn’t too overpowering. The rest of the food came out in a timely manner. I had the cajun garlic noodles, gumbo with rice, as well as a pound of clams with the medium garlic sauce. The gumbo was the most disappoint part of my meal. It didn’t taste like a gumbo and it also tasted burnt. Needless to say I left the majority of it untouched. The cajun garlic noodles were ok, but it didn’t really go well with the cajun flavor. The clams weren’t overcooked and were actually pretty good. I hate how sauces at other places are either too oily or too salty, but here I thought they mixed together pretty nicely. Also my few of my friends said that their shrimp was overcooked. Service was pretty nonexistent, they were really friendly taking our order but afterwards they don’t check up on you at all. They do come to refill your water but that’s pretty much it.

Another crawfish joint in Orange County I took my mom here for dinner on a Thursday evening and there was only 3 other parties enjoying their food. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. Once seated, we ordered one pound of crawfish and one pound of clams. We went with their«Fire Sauce» flavor which was all the seasoning. We also got an order of cajun garlic fries to start and some plain steam corn to go with the crawfish. The cajun garlic fries were excellent. They came with plenty of garlic and seasoning on top. It maybe a little too greasy for some. They were extra crispy which I liked and topped with a bunch of garlic. The crawfish and clams were also good. They weren’t too greasy or oily. The seasoning was perfect. It wasn’t too salty or too sweet. The clams also were not broken and none of the meat had fallen out. The crawfish tasted fresh. The steam corn was extra sweet. Crawfish and clams were about $ 10 a pound. Crab and lobster are valued at market price. I thought the pricing was reasonable. They have a Groupon deal where you can buy $ 20 worth of food and drinks for $ 7. The service here is excellent. They brought out something that I accidentally ordered and they took it back without charging me with no issues. I thought that was really nice of them. The food came out fast and they were very friendly. The inside is causal and looks like your typical crawfish house. There is one TV in the restaurant. They also have wine and beer as well. Overall, this is a good alternative to your regular crawfish house. It’s worth checking out if you are in the area.

Groupon dinner winner or should I say on FIRE. Groupon meal deals have been hit or miss, more misses for sure, but not this time. The restaurant itself is a typical strip mall facility. Nothing special inside or out. Upon entering there were tables as you walk in and booths to the left. As we were seated, they laid a layer of butcher paper on our table and our drink order was taken. We got their Lychee flavored tea(32 oz, no refill) it came in s big mason jar. It was a very good drink. The lychee jelly at the bottom definitely added to this refreshing concoction. Here’s the rundown of the grub: Shrimp w/Fire Sauce(1 lb) the shrimp was a nice size and perfectly cooked. We got it with the fire sauce which is a combination of garlic butter, lemon pepper & Cajun. This is the way to go IMO. All the flavors worked together perfectly. Mussels w/Fire Sauce(1 lb) WOW! The mussels were big, plumped and juicy. Not the usual small dried up variety I usually encounter. The BEST mussels I’ve had in this type of restaurant. The waiter said they were plumped today & it was good, so I would suggest asking the waiter before ordering this dish. If it’s plumped, get it. Lol. Add on of Corn — good Sausage — very good. Garlic Noodle — this was just okay for me(wifey loved it though). It needed something for me. So I mixed in some of the Fire sauce in it and that did the trick. Lol. Gumbo Soup — it’s a soup, keep that in mind. It’s not«Gumbo». But it sure was good. It has a smoky taste to it. The ingredients included some shredded chicken, green peppers, sausages, okra and a scoop of rice. A really good soup IMO. Baguette was amazing! GETTHIS, you’ll thank me for it later. Wow! Crusty outside, soft inside and it came out warm. Great for dipping in the fire sauce or anything. Yum! Secret Tip: I had to ask where they got the baguette, since it was so good. The waiter was reluctant to say where, but I got him to spill the beans. lol. It cones daily from THH(Tan Hoang Huong Bakery) now you know =) Service was exceptional. Rating 4 ½ Stars, bumped up for great service. Groupon deals might still have a loosing percentage with me, but The Fire Crab was definitely a big Hit! 2015 Review #114

I have no recollection of my visit here aside from it being comparable to all of the other crab/crawfish places you can find in the area. The décor is pretty much the same, the service is pretty much the same, and so is the food but it is less crowded here. One thing I recall them having different is a variety of french fry flavors. I will be back to try their garlic noodles!
