A discussion on a thread with Khalilah many months ago prompted me to bookmark CC and today was my first visit. I had a hankering for fried seafood and CC’s menu doesn’t disappoint. Fried shrimp, fish, sole, and even buffalo dominate the menu. The prices run from about $ 8 to $ 10 for the dinner portions and $ 5 to $ 7 for lunch. CC’s décor is hole in the wall. And can someone tell me about the pictures of the R and B artists on plastered around the place? Seeing Heavy D and the Boyz rock the kente/African garb was a blast from the past. Reminds me of watching In Living Colour with my cousin back in the day. The shrimp dinner with a double side of fries was my choice(fuckers were out of greens). The fries were pretty good, but the shrimp was a small disaster. This is what I get when I get my hopes up before eating out. 3 stars.

The fried seafood isn’t all that, but I loveeeee their hot wings and potato salad. The sauce tastes a little like Cajun hot sauce mixed with a touch of bbq sauce. Delicious. The owner makes the potato salad fresh in house. It has green onions, celery, relish, mayonnaise and mustard. I’m pretty hard to please when it comes to ‘tato salad. I usually only eat my own or my Mother’s, so for me to actually enjoy theirs means they are really doing the damn thang with the potato salad that they hook up there. You can get a ten piece wings with one side order for about 6 bucks. Pretty reasonable prices, dontcha think? Mmmhmm, I know you do. The fish market is located near the corner of Rosecrans and Van Ness. I highly recommend you give them a try if you’re every in the neighborhood. OH, and take a look at the old promo photos they have of old 80’s R&B/ hip hop artists from back in the day. Straight comedy.
