I love fried chicken in da hood, well this is not really the hood but the chicken is good. It’s not my favorite Louisiana fried chicken place but it did the job to quell my cravings. It cracks me up how each Louisiana place is different with what they and this place had a wiggly wings with a variety of sauces. I tried my chicken with the Thai spicy sauce and thought it was delicious. The place is small and not the most cleanest but I didn’t expect to be.

Cindy is awesome! She remembers my name even when I’m away for a while. She typically knows what I’m going to order and how I’m paying. The food is always fresh to order. Chicken doesn’t taste like it was fried in the fish grease like at some other Louisiana’s. Overall friendly staff and awesome food. They have a variety so even when I’ attempting to diet I can opt for turkey collard greens(which are great by the way) instead of French fries.

As a person who’s parents owned a restaurant for over 25 years, I can appreciate those delicious mom & pop joints that know how to cultivate customer relations. I swear I hate walking into a place and feeling like i’m just another mouth to feed. That’s why I am writing this review. The owners are super nice and friendly and best of all they have the best dishes for a great price! Thank you for the delicious food and awesome service!

Wow! Those thai wiggly wings are sooooo good and addicting! You have to try them! I also loved the sides they have there. I was surprised they had fried rice, but I happened to be in the mood for some rice and it was super good with the wings. The best part was that the prices were so good and affordable.

i was literally driving around looking for some louisiana style fried fish, fries and all that… i passed up a couple of places that may have done the job, but no, i kept going. not all of louisiana fried chicks have fried fish, so i asked… asked, then ordered. i was one happy camper to here the guy behind the counter say yes… i ordered 2 pieces of fish, 10 shrimp, fries and a side of red beans and rice, happy as could be… he charged me $ 4 to much i realized after sitting there for 5 minutes. it all was $ 19 and some… $ 17 something for the food and $ 1 something for the large drink… now i did inquire about the peach cobbler in detail, however, i was clear as could be that i did not want it and he even said something like ok, next time maybe and that it is good. i told him that im like broke and need not to buy a peach cobbler for $ 4, it was small as well. he said ok, and so on… i was ever so clear to not order it. when i got the receipt it was way more than expected, i brought it to his attention and he said no thats correct, or something. i responded with well, then what did i order(he told me everything but added the peach cobbler to it anyways… let me tell you, this guy did that on purpose and he got caught doing so. the people inside the location kind of looked away, as in there is not much to say that is how this gut working get down… specially if you are not regular customer. i was so nervous about him spitting in my food, i just got that feeling from him. he tried to deny in a way were he was innocent. he said oh i thought you order it… to repeat myself, it was as clear as all daylight that i told him no i will not be getting it today, i so many words. he even replied… it got all funny in the room and he offers me my refund on the item. i take it, but then got the feeling that my food was not safe, seriously… the guy is on his toes on how he gets down, he has the rebudles for his fail attempt to con… but he clearly saw i was not going for all that, certainly not today at least. to top it off, he says well oh, then i did not charge you for your drink. i look him dead in the eyes and tell i just payed you cash for the drink what are you talking about, well? he acts like he is thinking about it and then says, oh ya you did… what a clown! all over a few bucks. then again, a few bucks times 20 people can pay for some bills. a couple nights like that can pay for a car note… my point is, this guy does this and gets away with it to people who are sleeping on the whole get down. he knows dam well tht he got caught, along with the few people inside the location. no apology or anything. if he was regretful, he should of offers me the dam peach cobbler for free. this place has a get down apparently and you just may be the next victim next… the fries were wonderful everything was pretty go with the food. but, dont give them a chance to pull it on you… it was a younger asian guy. maybe 37 years years in age and quite fit.

I love the wiggly wings offered at this location. It comes in many different flavors, the ones I tried are lemon pepper, thai, garlic parmesan and spicy cajun… and they were all so superbly flavorful. I ordered the wiggly wings with a side of their famous shrimp fried rice and I must say, the shrimp fried rice here was more delicious than any fried rice any chinese restaurant has to offer! The restaurant itself is cozy and intimate and clean. This place is more for take-out but they also offer a few chair and tables if you want to sit. There’s also a TV there for your enjoyment. The front staffers, Tim and Cindy, are also quite entertaining and fun to talk to. Parking is ok… if you go during lunch hours you might have to wait a bit for another car to leave. But off hours there are plenty of parking. If you are in the area I would highly recommend stopping by this place and sampling their wiggly wings, and if you are stil hungry you must try their gumbo and smoked turkey collard greens… yummmmmmyyyyyy!

Some of the BEST Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken ever. Great sides! Smoked Turkey Collard Greens, Fried Okra, Cajun Rice… the list goes on. Don’t forget to pick up your desserts… banana pudding, funnel cakes, chocolate cake and some of the BEST tasting peach cobbler(Taste and See Cobblers). Stop by and show some love and support to Tim and Cindy. Oh, can’t forget about the Chef. Continued success to this business. Blessings!

I haven’t been to the actual location, but I have tried this particular branch’s Thai Style Wiggly Wings and the original Louisiana fried chicken recipe and I can say that they are both very flavorful and the best fast food chicken I have ever had! You can tell that this is real chicken… kfc, popeyes, churchs… hmmm, those are questionable. The Thai Style Wiggly Wings are sweet and spicy with just the right amount of flavor, not too tangy either. The original Louisiana chicken is tasty as well, just a bit on the oily side, but hey, what fried chicken isn’t oily. It is also more affordable than the other corporate chicken chains. If you are in the area, this place is a must try for chicken lovers.

I’ve had Kentucky fried chicken and when I saw a sign for Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken, I thought… really? Louisiana is famous for chicken? really? Louisiana Famous Fried chicken in located near an industrial area in Gardena and(I think) serves the many blue collar workers who(probably) work up quite an appetite. The reason I say this is because it’s not a fancy place. They have a couple of tables indoors but it seems to me that this location is designed for take out. They offer fried shrimp, fried fish and of course chicken. They serve these proteins with a combination of sides, that include fries and the prices are reasonable. I ordered only the chicken(4 pieces for 7 dollars). If you’ve ever had KFC extra crispy chicken… than you’ve had Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken version of fried chicken. They was definitely a crispy, crunchy crust surrounding each piece of chicken, which is something I like… the calories and fat content be dammed! My pieces were strangely seasoned some were on the edge of being over salted but my tolerance for salt is a little lower than others. I lean towards pepper rather than salt. However, other pieces had less salt and that inconsistency is what I’m considering«strange» Overall, the chicken I had was crispy and crunchy while being perfectly moist and tender. This place embraces who they are, meaning they know that they are serving fried chicken. They don’t pull any punches take it or leave it, which if refreshing. If I want reduced calorie chicken, I’ll make it myself! If I want chicken that’s fried and probably not very good for you but oh, so good… I’ll come here

In the world of fried chicken in Los Angeles, this chain definitely has it’s place as a favorite of the under $ 5 a meal crowd. The area is okay during the day, the restaurant has no bathrooms, the parking can be bad at lunchtime, But other than that, I really like their fried chicken. Though it’s a chain, it’s a good tasting fried chicken chain. And it’s cheap. My brother in law, an accountant is cheap and proud of it. He would love this place. You can get a two piece dark with fries and bun for $ 3.75 as of this writing. The flavor is quite good with slight Tabasco spiciness in their floured coating. The chicken is juicy, crispy, greasy, and m-m-m-m good. I wish KFC who are everywhere, would have chicken this good. It’s a shame I have to drive into LA County go get goof fried chicken. The chicken pieces are not massive like they are at Honey’s Kettle which charges about twice as much for the same thing. No bathrooms in Compton either, but they have them in Culver City. Golden Bird in Inglewood has bigger chicken too but is more pricey. Both of their chicken makes me hungry and I will probably end up eating at one of these places once or twice a month. Of course, my favorite fried chicken is Jim Dandy’s in Vermont and Imperial Highway Los Angeles. It has only take out, and safety is a concern. In lieu of french fries, I had the dirty rice which has some small pieces of liver and some spices in it. it was good but not their best item. However, as a huge fan of greens, especially collards greens, I have to give props to their turkey collards greens. It’s made with some vinegar, turkey broth, small turkey pieces, and the freshest collard greens. I could eat a large helping of that with no problem. I was way too full to have some of their sweet potato or pecan pie. I hope to next time I’m in the area. If you have to go to the bathroom real bad, there is a McDonald’s across the street. And I think its owned by an Asian family. The counter person looks like a typical cute small mid 20s female. Look closer and she has lots of tattoos, a stud in her tongue, and has a strong stare and laugh. Very cool.

The Louisiana recipe chicken tastes like all the other locations, no surprises. But I’ve been coming here for years and recently discovered the other wings. The garlic parmesan and Thai spicy are my faves. If you come to this location, don’t sleep on the flavored wings! They’re trying to compete with Wing Stop, I guess. I like theirs better. I personally think the fish and shrimp are over seasoned, but I don’t like a lot of salt on my food. If you’re like normal folks, you’ll probably dig it though. The banana pudding is pretty good, but too expensive IMO. Most of the sides I don’t care for. That’s why they didn’t get five stars.

I see more & more of these places popping up… Most of them are a combo fried chicken /fried fish type of restaurant. You’ll also find quite a few that are fried chicken /Chinese take-out places. This particular one is in the hood. I used to work down the street, which is why we were in here for lunch every now & then. It’s a 2-star joint, with a bonus 2 stars for their chicken. Super cheap, and super tasty. I actually prefer it over KFC. Crunchy and full of flavor… kinda like a less greasy version of Popeye’s. The fish is average… fries are average… bread roll… meh… but the chicken rocks. 10 piece full wings chicken only to go please!
