Discovery Inn

This place needs update, looks like the 70s, walls are off white, bathtub /​shower rod needs to be updated the (curtain keeps sticking to you).tv is from the 70s has a fridge in the room but no microwave. beds are hard I am talking extra, extra firm. no ice machine, It is very noising from the hwy. curtains needs to be replaced. they look like they been here from day one. the towels are really cheap and small. sheets looks clean but the stains not coming out. Internet works sometimes and sometimes it don’t. I guess for a day or 2 stay is ok They have no good channels on the tv So if you want a&e or more cable channels you are out of luck. But they do have 3 hbo channels. and 2 Spanish channels. Looks like a motel 6 lots of work vans and trucks and a boat that looks like it was dumped and left about 30yrs ago. people living here looks like they are homeless. they have dogs and cats (one looks more like a horse then a dog) I was here in May of 2015 when I came back threw I did not stay at the Discovery Inn. in Garland.

Unfriendly owner. Had a negative experience where owner was rude to me for no apparent reason. Probably doesn’t like minorities but I can’t tell for sure. I wouldn’t come here again. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money for a nicer stay.

I am most impressed. I read the reviews on Unilocal to find a quick spot to stay tonight. Sounded like this would be an easy off hwy and clean stop. I was surprised to get such a good rate and super friendly customer service. My room is clean. Lots of plugs good lighting and the back room is super clean and fresh. I’ve got a great desk and internet to unwind for the night. A king bed and a couch.
Don’t hesitate at stopping here. Support an American independent business owner!

Nice place.
I stayed here a few times when I was in Garland visiting a friend. The owners are nice and the free breakfast is stuff that you actually want to eat. The rooms are kept clean, and stocked.
I don’t remember if there is a pool, but the parking lot is kept clean, and this motel is located in a nice side of town.
I’ll likely return when I’m in the neighborhood again.
Oh, prices are decent, which is a good thing.
