Went here for the first time on Saturday, and I’m so glad I did. I needed an all veggie sandwich with mozzarella and what I got was amazing. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. I’m not a regular, yet they bent over backwards to accommodate my order and make me happy. While I waited for the sandwich I spied a slice of pizza that was calling my name. I don’t typically crave pizza because I don’t care for tomato sauce. I know, I’m an alien. Lol I’m Italian and I don’t like it. Lol But, this slice was without sauce and had balsamic drizzle. It was a slice of heaven. I’ll be back, not only for the food but for the friendly, bending over backwards service. Thank you!

I know I wrote before it was a hit or miss type place but lately it’s been miss miss miss. The pizza has been loaded with cheese and the crust is never fully cooked all the way through. Very disappointing.

I own a business not far from Bienvenuti and we order lunch from them almost every day. I’ve had a number of things on their menu and it’s all authentic, delicious Italian food. Every once and awhile our order will get a little messed up but they always make up for it. Jason is awesome and super friendly. I’d recommend Bienvenuti to anyone looking for authentic Italian

This place has great food! I’m very happy I discovered this place. My husband and I came out on a Monday night– there was no wait. We were treated very well. The owner is hilarious and he makes you feel welcomed. Although the staff is young you don’t feel their angst. I will be returning

Too much M.S.G. that why the other review said the food is yummy. Portion is very large. Cold sandwich have very little msg. Symptom of msg allery headache, chest or throat pain, dryness of month and a need to drink lots water or sweet soda or juice, drowsiness and etc. And yes it does exist.

I had fun with Benvenuti — and I haven’t even tasted the food since I live 3,000 miles away. But, my mom loved it! I had Benvenuti deliver a Valentine’s Day dinner to her. They made it so easy. Large, tasty portions of the caprese salad and shrimp scampi, and two pieces of NY cheesecake. Thanks for delivering on a zero degree day!

So a while back, I purchased a living social deal for $ 20 towards pizza carry out. I’ve never been here before but decided to try it out this weekend and get pizza. So I called in my order at 5:25pm Sat night and was told 25 minutes. I got there at about 6pm, with an infant and hungry toddler in tow, paid, and went to the table area to wait. And wait. And wait. Finally about 20 minutes later I asked the guy at the register if my food was almost ready. He asked, with attitude, if I told anybody I was here. Like I’m an @sshole that just walks into a place and expects everyone to know who I am and rush to bring me my food. «Yes, I paid so…» I replied. Then he says, «Oh, she didn’t tell you it was ready?» Obviously not, or I wouldn’t have been standing here for the past 20 minutes! So my food was cold, I waited for 20 minutes for no reason, and I was treated like I was a stupid @sshole. The pizza was ok but nothing to write home about. Not a very good first impression. I’ll probably never go back.

Nice people who made good pizza in my first experience there. Their frequent pizza specials are good deals. Easy parking in back.

This place used to be really good, but the service and quality have fallen off during the last year. Call it complacency or laziness, whichever you’d like but we’ve noticed a significant change recently. We began eating here about three years ago so I speak from what I’ve experienced. We brought our kids there this past Thursday to pick up a pizza, and of course the kids always enjoy watching the guys make the pies so they were psyched to watch the guys do their thing. So we put in our order for a simple large cheese pizza and the guy immediately grabbed one off the shelf that had been sitting there for a while and said here you go. Well the pizza was cold and obviously not fresh out of the oven, so I told him we wanted a fresh one. He proceeded to argue with me and tried to force me to take it. I stepped outside to take a call and he tried to force the pizza on my wife, who wasn’t a part of the original conversation, but on her own decided the pizza was cold and declined his tactics. When I returned and to his displeasure he proceeded to make a fresh pizza and popped it in the oven. We sat down and waited the 15 or so minutes for the pie to cook, and when the pizza was done we got up and looked to take our fresh pie home, when he again tried forcing the now very cold old pizza on us. We had our discussion about the pizza and the idiot acted like he wanted to come from behind the counter and have a fight about the pizza. There’s a pizza parlor on every corner so I’m not dealing with this kind of treatment every again. Arrivederci and farewell Benvenuti!

We tried this place for the first time last Friday, and they were so good we decided to go back on Sunday. So far I have tried the grandmas pizza, and a regular cheese pie, and both were delicious! They were cooked perfect, and not greasy at all. The garlic knots are good too. I got the Caesar salad, and my mom got a house salad, and both were big portions…2 people could share each salad. I’m not sure what some of the other people were talking about, when they said the service was not good, because it was great both times we went. We will be back!

I had been eating at Benvenuti’s ever since I had moved to the area 3 years ago. After getting engaged my wife and I began planning our wedding. We picked a venue but had to bring in our own caterer. As a person of an Italian descent I knew Italian food was a must at my wedding therefore we choose Benvenuti’s as our caterer. After going over our menu with Jason(the owner) we worked out all the details of the day with Jason being extremely helpful along the way. I know Unilocal isn’t exactly the place for wedding caterer reviews but I would just like to state how great Jason and his entire staff was at our wedding. Most importantly, the food was fantastic, with mine and my wife’s family absolutely loving it(the eggplant rollatini, lasagna and pepper steak particularly standing out as excellent). Aside from that the entire evening went without a hitch, the staff was amazing and Jason was so accommodating and even helped tend bar during the evening. Like many people, I’ve been to weddings that cost over $ 100 a plate and they still serve the same bland Chicken Francese. However, Benvenuti’s provided incredible food for a fraction of the cost. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We get pizza from Benevenuti every 6 weeks for a game night at our house. The quality varies from time to time. We purchased a Groupon to get $ 20 of pizza for $ 10. When we went to use the Groupon we were told it did not apply when they were having a «pizza special.» There was nothing on the Groupon to exclude any promotions. While the pizza special would have been nice, we were charged $ 35 for two pizzas — admittedly both had one topping each but one pizza did not have cheese. So, after the Groupon, it cost us $ 15 for 2 pizzas. We are so done with ordering from Benevenuti which is sad since we can walk there.

I love Benvenuti and have never been disappointed. The rice balls are so delicious I ordered 100 for my Christmas party and the focaccia platters are fresh and always a crowd pleaser. I love the fact that I can order pizza and boars head deli meet for the week all at the same time.

I’ve tried a lot of pizza. I live in Westfield, where even the sushi place served pizza. I am ashamed to say that I make my husband drive to Benvenuti in Garwood every Friday to pick up the pizza(delivery is spotty, but then Westfield pizza places don’t deliver at all so it’s nice that it is an option). I get a big pizza, with whatever the hell I want on it and I have enough for lunch and dinner the next day because I am just lazy on Saturdays. My husband and I are vegetarians… sort of. We know that prosciutto and calamari are not a part of the vegetarian diet. However, the pizza is just really that good here, so I don’t mind cheating every now and then. The crust holds up to the toppings and is chewy(I eat my crust rather than discarding it), the red sauce tastes fresh and homemade, the cheese is not fake oil cheese that is used in a lot of commercial joints(try the Smoked Mozzarella) and the garlic tastes like it was sauteed just for my pizza. We now eat here more than at Chipotle.

I have been here a few times with a coworker, and I have to admit that the pizza is really great. And the staff and management have always been nice and a delight. I would suggest if you are in the area to have their margerita pizza.

Good bread and a variety of Italian goodies. However the sandwiches were disappointing l, not enough meat, the prosciutto was extra fatty, turkey and salami had just four slices of salami, c’mon man. $ 2 for each drink, good location though.

There has been some minor screw ups but I order from them so much that there is bound to be some mistakes made. And anytime I call them on something they will always rectify it. Their food is good, hardy and reliable Italian faire. If I wanted better I would make it myself. They don’t put on airs and it’s nothing fancy. It fills my belly and keeps my pots and pans clean and my dish washer empty. They usually deliver with in an hour and are usually very honest if they will be awhile. But they are worth the wait. The prices are good and the staff and owners have always been nice and accommodating anytime I’ve been in.

I visited Benvenuti when they first opened over a year ago, but at that time they were still finishing the place up so their pizza area hadn’t been finished yet and they didn’t yet have all the pre-prepared foods in the display case that they have now. When I finally went back I was ecstatic to see how much had changed. The store seemed«fuller» with more pre-prepared foods available and the pizza section proudly displayed all different kinds of pizza including fresh basil and mozzarella as well as artichoke. On the particular day I had gone, I was looking to purchase a variety of Italian meats for a sandwich. I picked up several meats including their prosciutto, mortadella and sopressata. The lady who helped me was extremely friendly and helpful. As I went through my want list of meats(and cheese) she patiently cut all the meats and then sliced a ball of fresh mozz for me so I could have nice, thin slices for my sandwich. All the while she talked to me about Italian food with a Sicilian accent(literally). I found out the owner was originally from Brooklyn which kind of explained why I was so comfortable in the store. The Brooklyn boy in me smiled inside. All the cold cuts I purchased were all insanely good. The soprsetta in particular came in sweet and spicy varieties and both tasted wonderful(though my preference is the spicy). I’ve had the same types of meats from supermarket delis and they just *don’t* compare. The flavor is deeper and more complex, wonderful stuff! On another visit, I bought a rice ball with marinara sauce and cheese on top. I heated it up at home that night and man, it really took me back to my days in Brooklyn. It was crusty on the outside, but soft and tasty on the inside with a wonderful combination of sweet and savory flavors. I’m looking forward to coming back to Benvenuti and tryingi some of their other food. I’m just happy to have another cool place on my shopping route to visit!
