I’ve been here twice now and both times were great. By far the best bowling experience out there due to the small number of lanes and cozy atmosphere. Quick service too, I highly recommend.

It is a very nice place the worker was very patient with my friends. It’s very small but you have your room. I would recommend it.

The food from the bar is surprisingly good. The lanes are a lot of fun, the staff is attentive and there is usually a young crowd(early 20s). I always have a great time at this teeny cozy bar/alley. *Check their week days specials ! –1 star not enough light weigh balls

Perfect little bowling alley. Usually there isn’t a wait, which makes spontaneous people like myself very happy. There is also a bar attached that has bar styled grub if you get hungry whilst bowling or boozin’. I’ve even hosted a kids party here as well which was pretty inexpensive and the service was good.

Not so much a bowling alley as a bar with some lanes attached to it. Not sure what their hours are, but they turned us away when we tried bowling on a Saturday night. Not a great crowd outside either.

I take my kids here all the time. We also hold and attend birthday parties there. It’s reasonable and we get Groupon.

Small bar & bowling alley in a nice small town. It only has about 8 lanes and the people there aren’t the most helpful. But if you’re looking to bowl this is certainly a place you can go.

I was really surprised by this place. My friends asked me to join them here for Thanksgiving Eve for some bowling and drinks so Why not!!! Its a small little bowling alley but they have so much going for them. They are up to date with the computerized scoring which is great for me! I also love how their bar is separate from the actual lanes. Its a completely separate room, so you technically can just come and hang out at the bar. They even had a band going when we got there, and then after they had great dj music playing throughout the lanes. It was also really cheap. We paid 2.50 for shoes and for each game on Wednesday night.

Garwood Lanes is a small, 8 lane bowling alley– the only reason I found out about it was through an online deal through Deal Chicken. It took me 6 months to use the deal because the small place was usually packed whenever we tried. Finally, a day before the deal expired, I dragged my boyfriend to Garwood and we ended up having a pretty fun time. There was a party going on with little kids, so all of the lighter balls were taken(boo for me, the weakling). We ordered a few beers from the bar and drank and bowled. The girl at the front desk was nice and helped us since the keyboard at our lane didn’t work. I don’t bowl often but wouldn’t mind coming back here if a lane was actually available.

We played two games and had a lot of fun. One of my friends bowled his best game ever here so he certainly wants to come back. We didn’t go into the bar area but it certainly looked lively. The crowd in the bowling alley and bar yesterday was an older crowd. We parked on the street directly in front of the bowling alley. I didn’t see a private parking lot but it was dark so perhaps we may have missed it. Very good prices: $ 4/game and $ 3/bowling shoe rentals. It is a small bowling alley with 8 lanes. But for it being located in a small town like Garwood, It is of decent size and quality. I am glad there is a local bowling alley but honestly, I probably wouldn’t travel from a faraway town to come here unless I was already in the area. I checked out the place with my friends and we were informed to come back 45 minutes later because a league was playing and they take up all of their 8 lanes. Bowling is open to the public only during certain hours. Open bowling Monday through Thursday: before 6pm and after 9:30pm. Fridays: before 6pm and after 11:30pm. That’s as much as I remember from what was scribbled on their posting board last night and I don’t remember what it said for weekends. This schedule may change so just call ahead and find out if it is open to the public. Pros: local bowling alley, cost, lively bar Cons: small, open bowling is during limited hours

i love this place! i moved to garwood from clark and loved that i could walk there. loved when they had the«old school» jukebox but it’s since been replaced with the newer fancier kind. they have 8 bowling lanes in the back. greatest bar ever. i have since moved again, and i miss being able to walk there and hang out. dawn and dave are awesome. dave has always been really nice, but all the bartenders are friendly and will hook you up once in a while with a free drink, which i think is awesome when you are a regular there. the bar itself is small, and they have darts, and ring toss game and board games on a shelf. many times i’ve played connect 4 or checkers there. it’s a really laid back, great little local bar. decent bar food. sometimes they have drink specials or a band crammed in the corner, which makes it even better. if you haven’t gone, give it a try!

My friends and I came here last night. I didn’t even realize there was a bar inside this small bowling alley, but it was fairly crowded and I was shocked by the great time I had. The bartender(Dave, I think) was great and attentive. The drinks were perfect — the music was fun and the bathroom was clean and new. I’d come back if I was looking for a local spot to drink.

8 Lanes of pure fun! Garwood Lanes is exactly what you want from a neighborhood bowling alley. A neighborhood bowling alley??? Yes! Not to many towns can tout the fact that they have a bowling alley anymore since they seem to be a dying breed, but Garwood sure can! They pack 8 lanes into a tiny space as well as a pro shop and a full bar. I’m not sure if the bar gets more business than the bowling alley, but I think they compliment each other very well! The lanes have been maintained over the years and are in good shape for such a small bowling alley. They have computerized scoring, and nice flat-panel tv’s to show your score and play cartoons after your turn. There are always some type of specials being offered for bowling in groups or on «off-hours». The bar also offers cheap beer by the pitcher or pint and can be taken inside the bowling alley which is only a few steps up a little ramp. The bar actually has a good amount of tv’s for such a small place and makes for a great place to watch a game. They also have a dartboard on the side, as well as a jukebox. Did I mention the beer is cheap? This is a great place to spend a few hours every once in awhile when your looking for something fun to do. Let’s go bowling! RM
