L.A. Tan

My grievance is more on the corporate level, I get the employees here are just doing what they’re told. But hey, maybe corporate is watching. I was a member here, then froze my account. I’m pretty fair skinned and only tan for the Vitamin D. So I barely go. I probably haven’t gone in a year. My bank changed my card since they are switching to the chip, and my payment was not able to be taken out. I had completely forgotten about this because I never went there. LA Tan never contacted me about payment. Not once. Instead, when I went in today to get some vitamin D, I was told I would not be allowed to tan unless I paid them $ 30+ because my account was «past due» I asked them why it was that much. They charge $ 7 every time the card is declined. They tried for 3 consecutive months to charge me for something they knew I wasn’t using! They had no problem doing that, but never once contacted me. So essentially they were charging me for a service I never received, and for my card being declined. What?! I’m sorry but that’s just shady business. You don’t keep customers by trying to worm money out of them with backhanded practices. Everyones’ banks change cards, and a lot of people forget about automatic payments. If I was receiving any kind of service this would make sense. But I did not. I’m being charged and fined for literally nothing. Not a way to keep customers coming back. My advice? Don’t ever become a member with LA tan. They are very slippery and sneaky, and will do whatever they can to squeeze more money out of you. Just go on the $ 5 days or better yet go to another salon where they won’t try to swindle you.

The best tanning salon around! The girls here are so nice and professional! The salon is kept very clean and organized! Will never tan at another location after coming to this one !! i love it

Excellent team at the front desk, very professional, knowledgeable and customer forward thinking. Hard to find in this type of industry at times. Absolutely the BEST customer service.
Also, the only LA Tan with the VersaPro which I love.
You can expect business to be run as a successful business should be. Kudos crew!
Note: IF you are going to tan on the beds and hop over to spray tan on the same visit,
reconfirm they will have the spray tan ready. The only ooops I experienced, which really
set me off. I let them know. Since then, they have done a great job. Im happy with the tan results and anytime I have a question, they offer a solution. Again, Nice job. thanks.

Today was the first time I’ve been in L.A. in 2 years and the fact that the girls working tonight remembered me was mind blowing. They even asked how my wedding planning was going due to the fact that my fiancé has been going there the last couple months. I officially regret going to xsport in the past to tan. Because of tonight I will forever go to la. The girls working are willing to have a conversation with you unlikely places. Then Kayla recommended me a great lotion to use! Thanks ladies!!!

I have been to many tanning places in my life including out of state locations, and I have found that nothing comes close to how good this tanning place is. They are always updating to bigger better beds and they also replace bulbs earlier than they even need to. Their spray tans are also state of the art-​I get the Versa-​Pro and I am always getting compliments on how great I look! All the girls that work there are professional and helpful. I LOVE IT THERE! You can tell that the owner really cares about his business! Kathy G

Staff is extremely personable everytime i come in to this location. The beds are all updated. I always see everyone cleaning. Hands down a wonderful salon all around.

Always take the advice of the ladies at the Geneva location. They are there to help you achieve the best outcome possible for your skin. They have tips to keep your skin hydrated, nourished, and they can help recommend where to start out as which lotions to use depending on your skin tone/​pigment. As always while appointments aren’t required, don’t expect to be the first person to be helped. They WILL help you, just be patient, ask questions and be honest with them as well as yourself.
I would like to give an extra shout out to the two awesome ladies working tonight! Busy, or not they have always helped me and assured me they would be there if I had any questions. Thank you ladies!

Marissa gave me a custom spray tan and I absolutely love it! She was very informative and helpful and didn’t make it awkward at all.

Abby, Katie, and the rest of the girls are exceptional at this location. Their facility is clean, their customer service is awesome, and I genuinely love coming here! I never used to like LA’s chain bc most locations are a bit run down… But not this one.
The beds are kept up well, bulbs changed… And! They don’t play awful dance music in every room with no ability to turn it down. I have been to a few different locations around the Chicago suburbs, and this is the BEST ONE. I cannot stress that enough. Please go, and see for yourself! Love my Geneva girls.

Spray tans are TERRIBLE! Like an idiot, I have had a spray tan here 4 times with the «versaspa» or whatever automatic spray tan machine they have and they must be using watered down solutions because I have yet to get even a decent tan here! Usually I can get really dark with spray tanning, but even the «darkest» setting they have does nothing. Oh except to my hands which is real attractive. The rest of me looks literally unchanged. I bought a package the first 3 times and just thought I needed to go up a level or two but regardless of what level I choose the results remain the same.
I have also had the «custom» spray tan where an actual person sprays you and it was decent the first time because the girl actually knew what she was doing and sprayed me 2 – 3 times over. The 2^nd time though… dissapointed again. I had a different girl and she had no idea how to do it. It was too light and she forgot to spray some sections and I had to ask her if she should do that area (I was trying to be polite, but really??!)
Never going back again.

Beautifully newly renovated, nice staff, clean beds that all work, lots of options for tanning. What more could you want?

I love the variety of the beds and levels that this location has! They have TWO different versaspa spray tan options, which are the best (and only) way to go with spray tanning, in my opinion. The beds are all relatively new, especially the higher levels. Most of the girls that work here are extremely nice and helpful. There’s been a few younger girls that have been less than helpful but I never see them there for long so it looks like management is run well! I miss that they don’t have free tanning stickers anymore but I do recommend this location!

I have been to several of the LA tan salons in the area, and this one is by far the worst. It’s relatively clean but my elbow was burned by the face tanner in the level 3 bed. I went to shut off the face tanner because it felt SO hot, and when my elbow bumped the bed, I was left with a burn. The offered me a free tan but I will never go back to this location. There’s NO WAY a bed should get that hot.
