been here for breakfast a few times. Food is great. Very hearty american breakfast food. Price is great. The staff is super friendly. Great to see a place like this doing so good.

Mel’s is our permanent breakfast place — the entire staff is wonderful. Everyone should know though, they are now serving Mexican food in the evenings. They are open Tuesday-Saturday 4:00 — 9:00 pm. The food is fantastic!!!

In the mood for a traditional grease filled diner omelet? How ’bout a delicious breakfast sandwich? Mels is the place for that. We love this place. It’s on our list of top 3 fav breakfast joints. It’s small… which is fine as long as it’s not Sunday right after church let out. The service here is awesome. If you plan on running a marathon later in the day, don’t eat here. If you don’t, DOEATHERE.

Mels was just as I remembered it as a kid: Delicious! I love the fries, and the chicken tenders were meaty and HOT! A great little diner and very inexpensive for what you get!

I drive past many great restaurants on my way to Mels. I have yet to regret it. I find myself there maybe once or twice a month. You know how you have restaurants that you use to compare against all others? When it comes to breakfast, I use Mels. The food is excellent diner food. The staff is always friendly. I’ve ordered items up and down the menu and have never had a bad breakfast. My usual is the Mel’s Platter, 2 eggs, hashbrowns and a biscuit with gravy. If you’re in the Geneva area and are looking for breakfast, just go to Mel’s. Don’t ask questions. Just go.

You know it’s a good diner when there are both a cop and an old dude in his vet hat sitting at the counter. Great diner food, friendly staff. Don’t expect frills, but expect tasty versions of diner favorites. Perhaps a tad pricier than other diners(by maybe a dollar or two), but it’s still really cheap, so don’t gripe! I got the Mel’s Platter(I think that’s what it was called) — 2 eggs, a biscuit with sausage gravy, and home fries(or hashbrowns if you prefer). Worth the calories. The only thing I didn’t like is that the poached eggs were cooked in one of those molds, so they were like… in muffin form. Whatever, they still tasted good.

I have been driving past Mel’s Diner for years. I have always thought it would be a small greasy spoon type place where you wouldn’t exactly want to use the bathroom but the food was enough to come back. I assumed it would be a place where a group of local senior citizens would be regulars and always sit at the same booth by the window. I imagined that the prices were decent, the portions generous, and that I would leave satisfied and glad I made the trip. Would it be the best breakfast menu in town? No. would it be classic diner breakfast fare? Yes. Guess what, guys? That’s exactly what it was. I had the chorizo scramble, something that I often order at Egg Harbor. Although there are less indregients in the Mel’s Diner version, the chorizo was on point, the dish well executed and very filling. I look forward the biscuits and gravy that people are talking about, as well as the sausage gravy omelet.

This is a great breakfast place. My wife raves about their biscuits and gravy and their skillets are large and taste. The owner as mentioned in anther review remembers you and your food after only a few visits. It is small but we have never had to wait very long to be seated.

Daniel, our server was a fanstastic waiter — knew exactly when to check in on us and bring us refills, more napkins and make good recommendations. THe taco salad was tasty, the wife had a patty melt(onion-laden burger with swiss cheese) and it was awesome. Fries were really excellent too. The $ 5 grilled cheese is nearly worth it too. Large portions of home made food. Only reason i’m not giving it 5 stars as I thought the prices were a little steep — for a family of 5 — two kids meals, it was over $ 50 before the tip. Stop in — well worth it!

I was in town for my daughter’s cheer competition and when we drove by we had to stop in for some grub! It was rather busy this Sunday morning so the food took a little bit of time but our food was delicious! I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap which was awesome! The lettuce was so fresh and it tasted really really good. My bf ordered the mushroom swiss burger and even though we don’t eat beef he coudn’t resist. I took one bite of it and was wowed! It was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Really delicious. The french fries are also very good, good quality, appears to be hand-cut! Great diner with delicious quality food! And good service to top it all off!

This is a quaint little place. I went here for breakfast one day in a need for a hangover cure. You walk in a then have a cute little bar where you can sit and eat along with booths and tables. You can see the kitchen and the dudes making your food. I loved the little bar. They offer you a random selection of papers for you to read while waiting for your meal. The food was pretty decent and I would come here again. The problem is that they have really weird hours. On weekends I wake up late and by the time I can out of the house they are already closed :(So if you’re an early bird this is a good option.

one of my favorite breakfast places in the area. Not sure of the lady’s name(blonde who works/owns the place, there all the time, regulars know who I’m talking about), but she’s very friendly and always remembers me. Food is fresh, flavorful, and the menu has plenty of variety. Favorite indulgence — and believe me, its a serious indulgence — is the sausage gravy omelet. I’m always impressed with northerners who can make sausage gravy as good as back home. Good stuff.

I have been to Mel’s once for breakfast. We beat the rush apparently because we got seated immediately and right behind us a line of about 10 formed almost instantaneously. I ordered an omlette and my g/f ordered pancakes. Food came quickly, staff was friendly but crazy busy. All in all a solid breakfast place. I will return. As other reviewers have said the place is small — only 3 – 4 tables and 2 – 3 booths or so. There is a small counter as well that can seat about 5 or 6 maybe.

Stopped in here with my sister for lunch yesterday, and let me tell you, when we first walked in, I was skeptical because the place is TINY and I don’t know, I just didn’t have that great of a feeling. But then we sat down in one of like 5 booths(and there are like 4 or 5 tables too, that’s it!) and were brought over a high chair from the man at the counter which I thought was nice. We were then greeted by our server who was SOO nice and friendly! My sister went with the turkey, bacon and ranch wrap while I went with the mushroom swiss burger. Hers came with an option of fries, onion rings or coleslaw, she chose coleslaw and I ordered fries with mine for $ 1 more. I thought everything was very good, my sister wasn’t too thrilled with her wrap because it really wasn’t anything special, but for some reason I was thoroughly enjoying it! And my burger… MMM…my burger! It was DELICIOUS!!! The hand formed patty, the buttered and toasted soft bun, REAL grilled mushrooms(no canned stuff here) and lots of melted swiss cheese! It was YUMMY! We really can’t wait to go back and have another burger! If you are in Geneva and looking for a quick, maybe even greasy bite… stop in here… but make sure it’s before 2 cause that’s when they close, but it is SOO worth the trip! YUM!

It’s a small spot aimed at the breakfast/brunch and lunch crowd, and they don’t do dinner. It’s a formula that seems to work for this sort of spot, and why not just gun for the in-town traffic in quaint little Geneva? So, seating’s tight, and let’s face it, breakfast isn’t rocket science. Even so, Mel’s delivers. The cook’s Mexican, and if you go for huevos rancheros or the Southwestern skillet or the eggs with jalapenos and chorizo, believe me, you won’t be disappointed if you want a breakfast with kick. People seem to tuck into the more standard pancakes and whatnot equally happily, so all in all, this is a lovely little spot – skip the Denny’s experience right here, and you won’t regret it. Now, if only they did a proper bloody mary…

The more often you come here, the better you’re gonna like it! They’re tiny, so either get ready to wait, belly up to the counter, or go away… Breakfasts are great, cooked to order, and there’s plenty of variety. Sandwiches are real good, although the burgers rated just an OK from the wife… Haven’t gotten a shake or smoothie here yet, but the kids around all had one and I didn’t hear any complaints… Check out Mel’s Scrambler if you’re cholesterol count is too low. Gotta love the chorizo!
