OS2 Salon

Today was my first experience at OS2. My colorist for years moved out of state and I’ve been striking out on colorists since. I booked an appointment with high hopes and specifically asked for a stylist who is good with blondes… they scheduled me with Silvena. One word — wow. I walked out with not only the best color my hair has seen in well over a year… but quite possibly the best blowout/​style I have EVER had. I normally always have to rush home and rewash/​style, but not today. She is simply amazing. I am so incredibly happy that I found OS2! The salon is in the heart of Geneva and is so trendy and beautifully decorated. I loved everything about it. Rates were reasonable and in line with other salons in the area. I would highly recommend Silvena to anyone looking for a good colorist! I go back in a couple weeks for a cut and can’t wait. She worked magic today! Thank you!

I am moving to Geneva next month, so I was really excited to try out this salon. I typically get a full highlight, but it was suggested that I lift my root color so I am able to go longer in-​between appointments as well as make the blonde look more natural. I told the stylist I wanted a light ash base — definitely nothing brassy, my natural base is a dark ash. She assured me they would not be brassy or orange. When we were finished, my root color was very brassy — with almost an orange tint — I was mortified. The owner was able to get me back in the next weekend for a color correction — which I appreciated. I was told it was an easy fix — my roots just needed a color adjustment. When I got there I was told the best option would be to just go in with a lightener — which would make my roots 100% platinum blonde — definitely not what I was wanting. I told the stylist about my reservations and how I didn’t want to come off looking completely fake — since part of the reason for lightening my base was to make my hair look more natural with the blonde highlights. The owner told me the only other option would be to go darker on my roots — which defeated the purpose of me getting a root touch up in the first place — plus the extra money I had paid for it. We ended up just lightening my base and agreeing that going forward only a full highlight would be done. I reached out to the owner because I felt I should receive a refund on the root touch up color service — since instead of getting the light ash base I was wanting and being able to go longer in-​between appointments — it was recommended I come back the next month since the base roots are so much blonder than my natural color now. The owner told me she could not give me a refund because we agreed on lightening the base and they got it blonde how I’d wanted although I didn’t feel like I had much of an option — I didn’t request a refund for the highlights — but just the base color service because it was not how I wanted. To say the least, I am pretty disappointed with my experience for how much I spent here. If she would have offered me the refund, I would have considered coming back the next month for the highlight.

I recently saw Jamie for a cut and highlight. Before my appointment my hair was very damaged. I usually use Aveda salons because their color is so gentle on my fine hair, but had been using a non-​Aveda salon for a couple of years after moving to this area, and as a result my hair was fragile and frizzy. I was uncertain about seeing a new stylist based only on Unilocal reviews but I took a chance and I am so glad I did. Jamie made me feel very comfortable and it was apparent right away that she knew how to treat and cut my hair. She recommended a hair mask treatment (magic!) to give my hair a very healthy look and gave me a fabulous cut and highlights. I couldn’t be happier and would recommend this salon and stylist.
A couple of extra comments– Jamie was super nice as was the rest of the staff. She gave me recommendations and information about products but I didn’t feel pressured at all to purchase anything I didn’t want or need. The location of the salon is cute and convenient– a nice excuse to shop and walk around a lovely area of downtown Geneva with your fab new haircut.

Been going to OS2 Geneva since it opened. Very consistent. I show up, Kristen the manager offers me tea and asks how I’m doing. Melanie always cuts my hair. Excellent service and quality, + I’m very satisfied with their hair products.

I have been looking for a good stylist for a long time — a stylist who can listen and who is also creative. And I think I finally found one. I came to this salon for the first time and Miguel did a miracle. I got an amazing ombré on my long blond hair and Miguel also fixed my haircut from a previous cut that was a complete fail. Also, my hair is pretty long and heavy, so actually two stylist had to work on it! The result was a beautiful natural color and a gorgeous blowout. I am so happy to have found this place and I am most certainly coming back again!

My wedding was on 6÷6÷15 and Miguel and Melanie were my hair and make up stylists. Paul and Allison also worked on my wedding party. Let me just say that we all looked incredible when we left the Salon. I am thrilled with the service we received and recommend you call Kristen to book your appointment! You will not be disappointed when you go to OS2. Thank you Kristen for the wonderful experience with Miguel, Melanie, Paul and Allison… You all made my special day that much better! I have been coming to this salon for a year and it is awesome! Paul does a wonderful job on hair and color. He is amazing. Paul is very maticulate and does a great job on his cuts and the hair color selections. Melanie does an amazing pedicure. She takes the time to make your feet look smooth and beautiful without polish. When she puts polish on they are amazing. Great salon all the way around. Sandy C

I had been seeing the same hair stylist for years! I passed OS2 during Geneva’s Swedish Days and accepted a coupon to try their services. Once I experienced the miracles Miguel can work I was hooked and OS2 is now my one and only salon! I can’t say enough about how talented Miguel is. He took my hair from dry and thin to healthy and full. And his color is ON POINT! The staff here listens to what you want and doesn’t try to change your mind! I recommend trying OS2 out! I used to live in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood and paid hundreds of dollars for mediocre work! OS2 is truly a hidden gem in downtown Geneva.

I have had great success for any look I have wanted to try at OS2 ! The stylists really listen to what you are trying to achieve and help you attain the look you are going for. Allison, Phoebe and Miguel are my go to stylists when I want a change or simply a color and cut. An all around, feel good salon in the heart of Geneva!

It was my first & last visit. Thought I try it because I had a coupon but the service was so poor when compared to other Aveda salons — no one offered to hang up my jacket, no hand massage or scalp massage. Miguel seemed almost bored that he had to cut my hair. I brought in a picture (a curly style). He tried blowing my hair straight & when I said I usually use a diffuser, he continued trying to straighten my hair. Then he kept pushing me to but all these products. If nothing else, the cut seems okay… When allowed to curl naturally.

I had a great experience at the OS2 Salon! My stylist was Melanie. I came in wanting to get a hair cut I’ve never gotten before: a pixie (or close to it). I was nervous about it, but she gave me her honest opinion and that helped me decide to actually go for it. I’m so glad I did. She was amazing and knew what to do. She listened to what I liked and delivered! I’ll definitely be going back :-)

Absolutely horrific service. I have been going to os2 for two years. Trusted them with my hair and just recently went in for a color and cut by Miguel and sometimes get my hair cut by paul. Kristen the manager treated me so awful and I quote said «I don’t know if we can ever meet you expectations» well with the $ 300 I spent there on just wanting dark red and a cut my expectations should have been met the first time. She was so rude and told me something personal on the phone that I confided in Paul with. So hurt and in tears. What an unprofessional salon.

This hair salon is amazing! I had originally planned to do my own hair for my wedding, but at the last minute decided to get it done. I called the morning of my wedding, and they were able to accommodate me within the hour. I received a full updo and they were able to incorporate the hair piece I provided. My hair rarely holds anything, but everything stayed all day, and I got numerous compliments. Prices are based on the stylist and type of hairdo you get. Would highly recommend this salon!

I’m so excited I finally made the time to come into this salon and get my hair back on track! I saw Miguel about a year ago and he did a great job with my cut and was very nice too. I’m embarrassed to say I hadn’t had my hair cut since because of life and working weird hours at work so scheduling a time to get my hair back on track was difficult. I finally made time and walked in to see if I could get my haircut and I was in luck and got stylist Melanie. She cut my hair and did an awesome job! My hair felt so much healthier and so smooth. She explained the products that she used on my hair and I liked she wasn’t overly pushy either too. In the past I’ve seen stylists and they sometimes leave you feeling embarrassed about your hair (the at home coloring or it being dry or not keeping up with normal haircut appts). This never happened at OS2, all the staff is super friendly and helpful and you leave feeling great! I am definitely going to be a regular and I will tell my friends about this place. Melanie was great and I love how she listens to what you want for your hair and helps you understand the track you need to be on for your hair too.

If your looking for artists that can recommend and consult a style, or just give you the haircut you looking for, look no further. You’ll be welcomed by a courteous staff and well looked after. They are super flexible and have great attitudes! Makes trying a new style easy and fun! Ask for Miguel for both men’s and women’s cuts. Look your best!

I’ve been a return customer for 6 months and I’ve never regretted making the change from economy barbershops. Miguel Zavala is the best stylist eve ever seen, so much that I can trust him to style my hair however he sees fit and I know that it will turn out fantastic. I always look forward to my next appointment.

From the moment i stepped in here I was well taken care of. Everyone working there was welcoming and friendly. The environment was clean, modern, bright and open with beautiful décor. I have a hard time finding a great stylist who can work with my unruly, thick, curly hair, but I finally have! Miguel was amazing. He not only listened to what I wanted and had to say but he also helped me understand why he was using some of the techniques he used and how it would help my hair. He also helped show me how to style my hair a couple of different ways too. I genuinely felt like all the staff cared and I didn’t feel like they were trying to rush me in and out. Quite the opposite. They took their time and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and at home. Pricing is competitive and similar to other salons in the area. Definitely worth it. Go check ‘em out.

Being very picky about my hair it has always been difficult to find a place I can not only see the same person, but that they genuinely remember me and what I want. Add that to a wonderful and comfortable setting right in the Geneva shopping district (bonus is they’re Metra accessible) and you’ve got a winner! And guys, don’t shy away from the facials and hot towel treatment, something I had shied away from but now look forward to. Ask for Melanie as she is trained and a proven winner with men’s haircuts and fades.

Finally a Salon that has UNITE products and staff that knows how to use them!
