Pricey but the quality of ingredients are high. We had two gourmet burgers ordered medium. They brought out one medium and the other dripping blood. We sent back the undercooked burger and would have been very satisfied despite the mistake if they had done two things: They took the under cooked burger and cut it in half then reserved rather than a fresh portion. At these prices this is unacceptable. Because I had to eat before my dining partner, they could have comped their mistake or offered desert. They did neither. Probably not again.

The beer was terrible. Worst I’ve ever tasted. Tried the State Street Ale … drank about ¼(unfortunately) and asked for something else. Plan B was Aegir’s Ale, which tasted like the first beer + vinegar. These beers seem to have the same yeasty taste. Other reviewers with similar negative comments are spot-on. Wish I had read Unilocal before going there. I really wanted to like the place but unfortunately I’m one-and-done.

The food here was phenomenal. Me and my girlfriend had the wings and tried their blended silk beer. The beer was out of this world amazing. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better the food came out and was absolutely delicious. We ordered wings and the Stockholm dip. Beer paired amazingly with food. Will for sure be back. The food was packed with flavor. As well as the beer.

Too many changes. This was about an hour drive each way, but worth it. Now I am not too sure. The food is all changed. The soups tasted OK, but soupier. The filling in the sandwich was a smaller portion. Three stars because it is still OK, but I will not spend the time it takes me to get there.

i couldn’t decide between 2 or 3 stars. the first time i was here, i had the buffalo chicken wrap, which was delicious. husband had a burger, which he loved. the next time i came, i had the shrimp tacos, which were soooo disappointing. service was also bad the second time. husband had a California chicken sandwhich, and it was really good. the quality of food and service seems to be very hit or miss. i think if you stick with the sandwich or burger selection, you’ll be satisfied. i’m not in a hurry to come back.

Small quaint restaurant in the heart of Geneva. We waited about 40 minutes for a table to fit 5 of us. I had contacted the restaurant prior to inquire if they were able to accommodate gluten free. There were some items on the menu to which were naturally gluten free and others to which they could accommodate. They also offered a gluten free beer along with hard ciders. The waitstaff checked with the Chef to ensure my meal could be prepared and cooked gluten free. I really appreciated their attention to detail. Their strawberry — brie salad was delicious!

Had to give this place an extra star for great service and decent food. But I was there for the beer. I picked this place because they brew their own. Let’s start with the biggest problem: their beer was terrible and probably got infected during the fermentation process. Ordered a pilsner and it tasted like hard cider. Assumed they mixed up the lines so just out of curiosity ordered a porter, the other end of the color and taste spectrum. Their porter also tasted like hard cider and had a strong green apple taste. Also interesting that they don’t brew an IPA when those are selling very well right now. So disappointing visit. And if you do want a beer, order a bottle from their fairly limited selection. Strange to find a place that brews beer but clearly just isn’t that into beer.

Great atmosphere. .fantastic service. .good pub food. Very disappointing house beer… three different tries and all sour tasting. For a microbrewery, very few people were drinking their beer.

Visited here with Mrs H for an impromptu meal. What a great place. Atmosphere is cozy and the welcoming warm. The food is tasty with a decent selection. We had potstickers and wings for appetizers followed by fish sandwich for Mrs H and a Stockholm dip beef sandwich for me. All food was well cooked tasty and hot. The wings were on the mild side for me but perfect for wifey. The choice of beer is interesting and I think some might be an acquired taste. I had Aegirs Alex, which tasted like hard cider. Not unpleasant though. I heartily recommend this place.

Overall a great place to go for a casual night out. The host is always super friendly and makes you feel welcome and taken care of. The food is pretty good, the burgers especially are VERY good. It can be a bit busy at times, but the bartenders do their best and are friendly as well. The only suggestion is for them is to check their brewed on premises beer. There’s something funky that needs tending to. I’m not a big beer aficionado but even I detected it. Other than that I do support them and will continue to do so.

Great menu. Awesome salads, burgers, and wings. Today we stopped in for lunch and it was great. She has a chicken club on wheat and I had the grilled artichoke sandwich. Hers was good and had lots of alfalfa sprouts. Mine was loaded with tangy black olives and arugula. Both were very tasty. Fries were hot and well crisped. Server was very friendly and helpful. We love this place.

I could not agree with the review by Scott A more. The beer is absolute swill. I visit Geneva often and have tried their beers a number of times over the las 9 years. Never had a mediocre one. All bad. I know my beer.

I love beer and my tastes are varied, from ambers to IPAs. I’m not a fan of Belgian yeast, however, and most of the beers here seem to use it heavily. I think I’ve tried every beer here: I find none of them drinkable. I would have switched to bottled but the selection is abysmal. They stock NO IPAs. When the waitress tells you the closest thing they have to an IPA is Sam Adams or Bass, you know you’re in trouble. She said the owner doesn’t buy them because they don’t sell. If you run a microbrewery restaurant and can’t sell IPA there’s something seriously wrong. The food is good but not outstanding. The burgers are very good. I had the chipotle pulled lamb sandwich which was surprisingly bland. If you want good beer go to the Geneva Ale House across the street.

For people who just wanna know about how this place is, skip to my TL;DR at the end. Occasionally I want to use services like Unilocal to post a review that I just hope management will read. So consider this review via open letter: Dear Stockholm’s, I like your food. I like the staff. I like that you carry some good whiskey and that I would feel comfortable in there if I had biked there in a rainstorm and been mudsplattered on the way. Let me elaborate a bit: If I looked like hell and walked in and I was very hungry I think the people in Stockholm’s would make me feel like I’ve found the place with the unpretentious vibe of a dive, give me a great glass of scotch, and offer me solid recommendations on food. So the gorgonzola gnocchi? One of your waiters recommended this and she was absolutely right: It’s effing amazing. But we have something to talk about: A lot of people complain about the beer here, and they are not wrong to do so. That isn’t because the recipes for the beer is bad or anything. It’s because you have a wild yeast infection. You made(or maybe still make) something with brettanomyces and that yeast is so hard to remove that thereafter nothing you make with anything that has been near it will taste right. So, to my fellow customers here: Order belgian things. They will taste least weird. The third street maybe even is improved by the wild yeast flavors. The wheat beers are ok with it. To the brewmaster I suggest some really serious, maybe autoclave style sterilization if that’s possible, to anything that will touch cooled wort or anything like it. Then never use brett on anything near what will be fermented with anything but wild yeast. I want to taste the english ales and porters you make the way they would taste on clean equipment. I really do. I think they’re probably good beers. Until then, I will stick with whisky. TL;DR: The food here can be pretty good and the place is comfortable. The only beers that taste right are the belgian ones, but it ain’t really the fault of the brewer.

Tsk tsk! I walked in alone. Maybe that was my mistake. Saturday night. Not as busy as when I used to bartend… I sat at the bar, acknowledged a staff member, and received a nod in return. Thereafter, I was roundly ignored. I then pulled out my wallet, no luck. I then pulled out cash, still no luck. Then I checked my phone, more than five minutes without service. I would call it a shame, but since I have no idea what I missed, I’m not so sure. Thankfully, Wildwood was open, and they sell the really expensive Scotch, which I of course was happy to order.

We have been showing up to Stockholms at least twice a month for the last 14 years. Great neighborhood place where you always feel welcomed. Seasonal choices in the summer are great. Extremely friendly staff. We have been to all the Geneva –St. Charles restaurants, and we always return to Stockholms. I have yet to bad a bad experience, highly recommend.

My wife and I went back here this past weekend. Abiding by my first review here, we stayed away from the beer, but ate some very piquant food. We started out with the Papas Italiano. I broke my rule about ordering handmade chips out, as they can be unpredictable and made easily at home. But these were cut and cooked perfectly, topped with creamy cheese, prosciutto, and some sort of garlic concoction. Really good. We moved on to the soups, gumbo and french onion. Both were good. The gumbo had the taste down well, but comparing it to true NOLA gumbo, the texture fell a little flat. It was more of a soup than a gumbo. Good none the less. The french onion fell into a similar category. Tasted good, but a little different… not enough Worcestershire maybe? Either way, I’d eat either again. Main course… we had Swedish meatballs and diablo shrimp. I’ll save the best for last. The swedish meatballs were good, although I thought possible a bit under seasoned. My wife on the other hand, being more of a connoisseur on this type of food, found them to be seasoned very traditionally and quite enjoyable. The sauce may have been a bit«different», a little thin maybe. I probably wouldn’t order it again for the following reason… DIABLOSHRIMP. This pasta was wow. Nice big(possibly) Gulf shrimp, tender and meaty, not old tasting or mushy. The creamy sauce was«yes please», and very«I’m stuffed». Check this place out, but don’t forget to heed my first reviews warning!

Do not come here for the beer. It is bad. None of us wanted to even finish our beers. Maybe their food is good because there were people there but I can’t imagine anyone even remotely serious about craft beer would come back again.

Quaint, side bar atmosphere with quality background tunes and an approachable and sociable staff. We didn’t partake in any food during a recent check-in, but everything we saw flying out of the kitchen appeared pretty tantalizing. We came for the cocktails, of which the beer failed miserably. Their take on Moscow Mules was solid, but their«old world» hand crafted micro-brews were hardly appealing. We went with the flight as to get a sample of their housemade offerings, but were hard pressed to find an enjoyable drinker. Every beer we tried was watery, either too bitter or too bland, or an uncomplimentary concoction of two house brews. We ended up having many taken away, with a gracious discount to the check. All due to respect to the brewmaster, but the recipes need some dialing up and retooling. We’ll definitely stop back, but there’s no hurry…

On our rotation and rarely let’s us down. Have had 4 of the sandwiches… all really great. My wife loves the salmon fiesta salad. Great value. Craft beers are mid-tier but food, atmosphere, location make it always a fun time. Had to upgrade to 5 stars with new batch of menu items and consistently excellent food. You can tell they carefully select quality ingredients.
