The cheapest and best sushi in town by far. The chicken fried rice is amazing with their teriyaki sauce. Staff is friendly and fast! I would most definitely check it out if you want upscale hibachi styled food at low prices.

Affordable and fast japanese food. It took me back when they served the food on styrafoam plates but doesn’t make a huge deal honestly. I love getting the sushi roll special– yum yum roll, spicy salmon, and crunch crab are my favorite! Cheapest sushi prices without the fancy sushi plating. The hibachi is delicious too. I love the chicken hibachi, its such a huge serving size for the price you pay. You would pay close to $ 35 for a $ 10 box there.

Was in Georgetown for the weekend and wanted some sushi and quick hibatchi so my wife an I got some take out. For the price, the hibatchi steak, chicken and shrimp combo was decent but nothing to rave about. The hibatchi veggies were nice. The sushi was just ok in flavor, however the rolls are rather small. Thirty dollars later we were still hungry and not fully satisfied. I would recommend for quick cheap hibatchi if you don’t want filet or another nice cut of beef, but definitely not for sushi.

We just tried this place and it was delicious. Great staff, fast and great price. However we are vegetarians so I can not speak for the grill. We will be back for sure… especially before we hit Kroger.

Following up my previous review since I’ve now been there many times. For what it is — it’s great! If you are expecting the full on hibachi restaurant experience, this isn’t for you. My husband and I actually dislike the theatrics and communal eating at hibachi places so this is terrific! Their koni cheese(basically crab rangoon) are deliciously light and crispy — I love them! We have sampled a number of their sushis and now each time I go I get the crispy shrimp roll. Even my husband who dislikes sushi enjoys it. They offer the hibachi meals with or without veg and I don’t find the small portion of veg added anything so we get it without. We have eaten here about a dozen times now(all take-out) and have enjoyed it each time. Once we did get an incorrect order so check before you leave! I will agree with another reviewer that they give you quite a large container of yum-yum sauce with your meal. So if you need more I don’t think 39 cents is too much to ask.

Love the food, very very clean just make sure your not the first customer of the day. I made that mistake once and I could taste the bleach solution from the flat top or the tools that were used.

His place was very quick, clean and tasty. I was surprised to see it just hiding away, it’s so tidy and has an upbeat atmosphere. The only problem I saw to give is only 4 stars was the lack of a child’s menu. The portions were huge so I was able to share it with my 5 yearold I just wish that wouldn’t always have to be the case for future visits.

Clean, great fast take-out food, and friendly, attentive service! So glad to have this option in Georgetown, a place seriously lacking in food options.

I’ll be back. Been a couple of times. Had the chicken hibachi and chicken fried rice. Both were good. Not quite the same as you’ll get at one of the fancy hibachi places, but this is great for when you don’t want to go all out. Glad to have this option now!

We have a full Japanese Hibachi restaurant here n town that is very good. I have eaten there a number of times. OEC isn’t anywhere near the full hibachi one, but, it was very good, for less than half the price of the other hibachi. I had the steak meal. I’ve had better, but the taste was good and in a sufficient amount. The grilled vegetables were the low point, but the fried rice was really good. The sauce they have was very tasty, too. For a Thursday night the place was packed. We think we will get our food to go next time so w can microwave it a bit as it could have been warmer. We will return!

Portions were good. I had the shrimp and chicken and was very pleased. Very similar to Chinese fast food.

Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. We had miso soup, volcano roll and a vegetable hibachi dinner and a salmon hibachi dinner all good and $ 24.

Going in, one needs to understand that this restaurant isn’t like a nice hibachi grill restaurant. This is more on-the-go, so expect quality to reflect that style. The inside of the restaurant is bright and clean, however it felt very sterile. Little to no personality was reflected in the décor. Service was nice and the food was made quickly. I ordered a California Roll, and my fiancé ordered teriyaki chicken. The California Roll was okay. I’ve definitely had better, but I’ve also had worse. For an express restaurant, the sushi was good. The teriyaki chicken was tasty, but the rice was a bit bland. Overall, this reminded me of cheap Chinese food, only Japanese. Nothing spectacular, it pales in comparison to nicer restaurants, but it works for what it is. I will most likely come back.

I was excited to see a Japanese Express open, but now I regret going. The steak really isn’t true steak, but more of a thick beef. I was concerned when I asked how the steak was going to be cooked. The cashier said the steak is so small that they can’t control the final temperature. Great… The rice wasn’t really fried rice, and the vegetables tasted old(we all got hibachi, no sushi or apps). Needless to say I won’t be going back.

All in all, I’m pretty pleased with OEC Japanese Express. Ever since I moved down here, I’ve been fairly disappointed with cheap and quick Japanese offerings, but being from the West Coast I’ll admit I was very lucky that the sushi and Seattle-style street teriyaki is abundant there. OEC is kind of my happy halfway point. The sushi is very cheap, though the cooks are still learning appropriate knife skills and rolling technique. They need practice as it’s not the prettiest sushi out there, but as long as it doesn’t fall apart as I eat it, I’m cool with it.(Have had a cucumber roll, spicy tuna and an avocado.) The miso is right on. I’ve had it with all three meals, though the first time was very hot temperature-wise. They seem to have figured this out and the two other times it was hot, but not scalding. The steak and chicken combination hibachi is pretty much exactly as I would expect for an express place. The chicken is chicken breast, which I personally think is the wrong cut, but the steak tastes rather like Seattle style teriyaki. The sauce could be thicker, but once again, that’s a Seattle style thing. The vegetables are good, but a little too peppery for my taste. I feel it’s pretty well priced for the area as well. The fried rice is exactly the same kind of fried rice I’ve had at Japanese restaurants around here. The orange sauce is good, though I think it’s best to put it over the rice in moderation. While I had my fingers crossed that it would be like other Japanese take-out joints like the ones I know and love on the Coasts, I’ll happily be returning often. It’s clean, and service is prompt, which is a whole lot more than I can say for the service at Georgetown’s other Japanese option.

I was very excited to see the new OEC Japanese Express open. I love Japanese food. I stopped by after shopping at Kroger. The interior is modern looking and very clean. I ordered the miso soup, cucumber and avocado rolls to go. The miso soup was perfect, not overly salty. The sushi rolls were good and packaged in a cute container. My food was ready to go in 5 minutes. It made for a perfect lunch. I’ll definitely be back. I’m eager to try the hibachi options.

Very nice service and good food to be an express… I wish that the dine-in food was on better plates instead of everything being served on styrofoam.
