I had to get a bouquet for my daughter’s graduation and had to get it immediately. I asked them to make it but told them it was OK if they didn’t have time I could get something premade. They asked me how much I wanted to spend and made me the most beautiful bouquet I’ve ever seen immediately. It was such an awesome experience that I will be a customer for life. Make sure you ask them to make something for you as I don’t think they make a bunch of stuff for display, but they have a huge frig in back where they have a great variety of flowers.

The Flower Source has a great section of flowers and reasonable prices. The flowers are not the cheapest, or the most expensive, but the quality is amazing. I have bought flowers from here for 2 years now, and they are beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend buying your flowers from here.

I LOVE this flower shop /nursery! While they may be a bit more expensive than other local nurseries, there plants are ALWAYS far superior in health, quality and selection for both your indoor and outdoor planting needs. The staff(many of which have been there for years) are extremely helpful and friendly and full of planting advice. They have a delivery service if you are purchasing large trees or get a little carried away in your yard projects as I so often do. Most times the delivery will be within a couple hours of purchase. This is not a big box store so prices, in addition to a more unique selection, are reflective.

I LOVE this place! I’ve been a regular patron since I moved to G’town almost 30 years ago. I will admit, they let me down a couple of years ago when a delivery went awry, when a promised delivery to the recipient’s office was late, but it WAS delivered to the recipient’s home in the evening. Otherwise, for many years, this has been my go-to place for the occasional corsage, carnation boot-in-the-rear and, like today, plants for my flower boxes and planters. With the nice weather today, the place was packed(the nerve of all those people to have the same idea as me today!) but Carley was more than helpful, and a long check-out line moved unexpectedly quickly. I’m a fan, no doubt about it.

My family and I used to patronize this business ALL the time. Their location is fairly near to home, they helped supply another local area nonprofit organization(with whom our family was intimately involved) with roses at a good discount, their selection and prices were competitive, and we always enjoyed strolling through their sprawling aisles of beautiful, living, green things. Until one afternoon a few years ago. My sister, who was much younger, precocious, and naïve at the time, was meandering through their display of fountains, statues, and bird baths. Very much the little Disney princess, she took interest in a little pool adorned by cute animals and cherubs and sunshines(or whatever else enthralls a little girl) and dipped her hands into the water. Unfortunately, my mother, my other sister, and I weren’t paying close attention to what little woodland princess was about to do, so we weren’t around to tell her NOT to splash the water on her cute little face. The next day, we noticed that Cinderella had a terrible rash — no, chemical burn — all over her face. It was no doubt from something added to the pool’s water to keep it clean while on display at the greenhouse. BYNOMEANS are we in even the slightest sense blaming the Flower Source for putting chemicals in their bird baths. It was unquestionably our fault for not keeping a closer eye on our rambunctious little one. When my mother called the greehouse to find out just what chemical had been added to the water(a la, «Can I find out what kind of poison my daughter just splashed all over her face and eyes?»), the woman who answered the phone was terribly sympathetic, and was intensely keen on finding out the answer for us. Because my mother wasn’t put on hold, she could hear in the background the woman talking with the owner of the greenhouse. «Come on ‘Bill’, just tell me what was in the water so I can HELP this woman!» mom heard in hushed tones. Presumably, the owner didn’t want to have a lawsuit on his hands, and so insisted(read: LIED) that nothing had been added to the water; however, we were very willing to recognize that it wasn’t the greenhouse’s fault but our own.(See previous paragraph.) To this day, my younger sister still has visible scarring on her face from this experience. NONE of my family has been back to the Flower Source because of the way we were treated. I can’t fault the owner for trying to avoid a lawsuit, but we were never thinking of doing that in the first place. Suing the Flower Source in this instance would be possible if it was a greenhouse AND a daycare; thus, the owner really had no reason to worry about getting sued. Because the owner had his head up his butt, and was also a lying pleb, we never did find out what caused the chemical burns on my sister’s face. I wonder what else he’s willing to lie about?

Should be No STARs for Flower Source. I recently worked with Pro-Flowers who assigned them to make a Pro-Flowers offered snack basket to send to my sister in WI. Cost to me was $ 49.00 plus 20.00 delivery. Value of items delivered to my sister approximated $ 11.50. Included were 3 bags of chips for 1.49 each and a can of generic nuts which Walgreens sells at a 2 for $ 5.00 price point. Seriously, DON’T put yourself out there as a reliable and responsible business when clearly you are not.

Now this, is a florist! I know when I use this florist that my gift is going to arrive on time, beautifully designed and fresh! When I lived in Wisconsin, this was my go to florist and garden shop. Since moving to Illinois, I am still able to use them for floral deliveries whether they are wired from my local florist or I call them directly. The Flower Source knows flowers, whether for a floral arrangement, or to help you find that perfect plant or container for your garden. The last time I used them for a floral delivery– the recipient was thrilled. A beautiful, highly fragrant arrangement was delivered in all the right colors looking fresh and crisp. Some of the flowers in that arrangement lasted almost 1.5 weeks(much to my recipient’s delight!) Their staff takes the time to understand what you want. And their work is unique and interesting and done at a price that won’t break the bank. I’ve learned my lesson in straying away from The Flower Source as I’ve yet to find any place else that takes the kind of pride that these people do in their work. And they just got another order from me, to replace a botched order from another florist I mistakenly used. I wont’ make that mistake again!
