Wet Seal

December 20, 2014 I purchased 2 bracelets and $ 100 in gift cards from Wet Seal at San Tan Valley as a gift for my daughter. She went in to shop with the cards on 12/​26/​2014 and the shelves to be a bit bare and was told they were closing their doors. They said if she found anything she liked they would refund the balance of the card in cash. She could not find anything in her size so they said another store would accommodate her. We have tried 3 stores, all saying they are going out of business with little on their shelves. We found $ 25 in merchandise at the Arizona Mills location but were refused the cash refund on the card balance. I called corporate at 1−866−746−7938 and spoke to Sandra at ext. 3081. She said they are not going out of business as my daughter can use the cards online. I explained I was not informed of having to use them on line nor was I told the stores were closing as they sold me the cards. She spoke to her manager and said corporate policy was to not refund cards.
I call scam. They knew on the 20^th and long before that, that the stores were closing, yet they still sold me gift cards. I have $ 75.00 of useless plastic. FYI — My daughter cannot shop on line as she is 5’6″ and 107LB. Her size is long and thin so clothing has to be tried on.
