I was visiting my family and retrieved my old Peugeot bike. I had to ship it back to my home on the west coast. Luckily, The Wheel Cyclery wasn’t too far from my parent’s home and after a quick phone call I was able to take the bike to them for shipping. Everyone in the shop was 100% great to work with. When the bike arrived at my local bike shop, they were impressed at how well it had been packed for shipping. I can’t thank everyone here enough for being so great to work with and for taking care of me as well as they did. Thank you again!

Stopped here last month to get some information on what type of bike I should get. I wanted to write a review because the employee who helped us, named Adam, was incredibly helpful even though we told him that I’d be waiting until I moved to a new state to buy a bike. He really took the time to explain everything that I should look for what helped me figure out what I need.

I went in about 2 months ago, looking to buy myself a bike. I’d been trying to think of some type of exercise I would enjoy enough to do regularly. I used to be a hard core 10-speed rider as a teenager and thought biking was probably the best way to go now, as I used to enjoy it so much back then. I have relatively little knowledge about bicycles, other than what I’ve read online. The wheel cyclery has a nice website with an information section on it, which helps with understanding the basics. So I took at look at that, got some ideas and went on in. The staff was very helpful. They got an idea of what type of riding I would be doing, showed me several different bikes and explained the basics to me. They appear to sell mostly Giant and Scott bikes, not sure of any other brands. I made the decision to buy a Giant. They didn’t have one put together at the time, but I made a downpayment to pick it up the next day. I’ve really enjoyed this bike. It seems to be a good fit for me, which I was worried about since I have such short legs. I’ve been back a few times to purchase some accessories; helmet, computer, saddlebag, gloves, etc. They have a good selection of merchandise. They’ve also been very helpful with putting on any accessories that I’ve purchased through them. They also do weekly rides that you can sign up or just show up for and info on any benefit/leisure rides that happen in the KC area. This will definitely be my go-to bike store from now on.

This bicycle shop is the most friendly and helpful place! I resumed riding a couple of years ago and I have zero expertise in the matter, but no-one at the Wheel Cyclery treated me like a moron at all. How to describe the woman who manages(and owns?) the Wheel? Business-like, yet personable? In any event, I didn’t buy my bicycle here but everything I’ve needed to acquire, as I gradually learned what I needed(different seat, different handlebars, flat tire kit, gloves, pump) I’ve fetched from the Wheel. I learned the difference between a Presta and Shroeder valve stem! I’ve seen a tent out in front so I think they sponsor some event(s). Naturally they have new bicycles for sale, from a few hundred dollars to five grand. I’ve had a flat tire a couple of times, and, since it’s convenient to where I live, I’ve just stopped by and they basically dropped what they were doing and replaced the tube in ten minutes each time. The only way this place could be better is if they gave everything away for free. If I were going to try to start hanging out at a bicycle shop, this might be the one!
