Average bar food, poor value for what you get. Kids grilled cheese is priced as a meal, drink and side are extra. Ordered a burger with fries. Fries were $ 3.59 extra and were on par with fries from the grocers freezer. $ 46 for lunch for my wife, 2 kids and I before tip for food we could have made better ourselves at home. Also, cash only… you’ll have to walk down the street to an ATM.

If you want a good burger and good service in a clean, friendly environment, go to Art’s. I had the olive burger which was delicious with quality meat, and a Manhatten made perfectly. Can’t beat the ambience of Glen Arbor, MI either!

Burgers were juicy and delicious. Would have preferred blue cheese crumbled over dressing but I’ll live. Bloody Mary was standard, my mistake for not ordering a beer. Onion rings were crispy and golden brown. Service was friendly and I appreciated the waiter reminding us that they were cash only once he could tell our bill was reaching upwards of $ 20. ** cash or check only

While the food was okay, hearing at the END of the meal«sorry … cash or check only» was a nightmare! There is NO sign on the front door, the server said nothing at the beginning of our visit, and the tiny sign placed at the table had ketchup, mustard, etc., in front of it. Basically, they are probably one of the stupidest places I’ve seen in YEARS. What was rather«amusing» is that after I made some less than appreciative comments regarding this, the server said to the table next to us «cash or check only.» The people got up, and left! There are other places in the area, and next time we’re in Glen Arbor, we won’t be going to Art’s!

Cash only is a bummer… but otherwise, we were very happy. Had breakfast. Cute homemade jelly on the tables. Great coffee. Fun décor of sports flags. I really enjoyed my white fish omelet with capers! First time I had thought of ever trying fish in my eggs… but it was a winner! Good solid meals with no complaints all the way around. Good service. We came in Feb… I would guess that this is a crazy place in the Summer.

We stopped in on a Sunday, lioking for a plain pub burger but we were pleasantly surprised by our choices. Great burgers, fries and desert. Cold beer. What more can you ask for?

Art’s is pretty great. Burgers are out of this world. They use great quality Meats and Cheese’s. I ordered their Blonde burger(grilled chicken sandwich with grilled mushrooms) with grilled onions added. That thing was delicious. Chicken was cooked just right. My only complaint would be that they don’t accept plastic.

I really like Art’s. Been coming in for years for a sandwich(love the fancy grilled cheese) and a homemade soup for years. I read these reviews and I gotta ask: Why can’t Unilocalers carry money? It’s not an expensive place! All these gripes, one after another after another. The answer is easy: tuck a twenty in your wallet before you go out! Don’t count on your friends to carry money! Don’t waste the waiter’s time while your party fishes in their various pockets! You look like a clueless kid! It’s not that radical really. Businesses pay 4% on each and every credit card transaction. That’s fine for a national chain, but if what you want is to support charming local establishments, carry cash. Many establishments, particularly in seasonal tourist areas, have the same policy(e.g., the cheese shanty in Leland). So grow up! Wear pockets!!! $ 20 should do it for both of you! On second thought, don’t. There’ll be more room for us regulars if you«kids» stick to debit cards.

Took the family to eat here after an afternoon at sleeping bear dunes. Was crowded at 6pm on a Thursday — a good sign! Wish I ordered a burger as my husbands looked great. I had the fried shrimp — it was decent and came w 2 sides. Good beer selection. Friendly service. Wide ranging menu but nothing spectacular if you’re a foodie. The atmosphere was fun and lively. Very comfortable.

This is a staple of Glen Arbor. If you’re in town it’s a must stop. On Wednesdays they serve a delicious jalapeño chicken soup that I highly recommend. There’s a really cute merchandise store outside and over one storefront. Pretty diverse menu and craft beer selection. They’ve got a good-sized patio with a great view of the town shops and people.

Patio not open for breakfast?! We stayed anyway. Found out after we waiting for a table inside that they don’t accept credit cards. This was easily the most disappointing for me as I never carry cash. Thank goodness I was dining with someone that did. Actual breakfast was not smooth sailing either. They have a very small kitchen for a large dining area, so our order took quite some time. Then our order was messed up – they brought us a short stack of regular pancakes instead of the apple French toast we ordered; they promptly brought the French toast. I also substituted Canadian bacon for sausage in The Hangover Cure and it came with sausage in it and Canadian bacon on the side(which we were charged for, but didn’t bring up to the waitress because it seemed like too much trouble at that point). So here’s what we did enjoy – the Bloody Mary was good, the food tasted great, it’s a cute place and we enjoyed searching for The Ohio State University pennant amongst the hundreds on the ceiling, and our waitress was kind even after we pointed out the mistake when our food was delivered. If we returned to this area again, I would probably give this place another shot. Number one suggestion: accept credit cards – you’re in a tourist area. Number two: have you’re patio open for breakfast – it was an absolutely beautiful morning that only got hotter; it would have been nice to enjoy the morning with our breakfast.

Good drinks, good food. Staff is friendly and helpful. Price is what you should expect, considering where you are. Cash Only.

Shrimp cocktail: 12.99 Total number of shrimp: 6 Club sauce: frozen on top It was all downhill from there. I don’t know what food is like elsewhere around here. I know ordering shrimp cocktail at a tavern probably wasn’t the best idea. Still! I wouldn’t recommend it. The other food we got was pretty meh as well. The tater tots which are supposedly a favorite were indistinguishable from the frozen variety you buy at any grocery store.

I had a really delicious meal here on vacation. We ate outside, and were able to get a table for 4 within a few minutes on the Thursday evening of 4th of July weekend. We loved people watching while eating. Our server was good. The food was really good! Their menu has pretty standard options(chicken tenders, fish sandwich, fried clams were some of what we had) but everything is done really well and we were in sightline of the grill which was fun! They have a really good beer selection and inventive cocktails and the bartender was top notch! Loved our meal and we’ll be back next time we’re in the area!

The most annoying thing about Art’s is that sometimes you haven’t hit the cash machine(because really who carries cash anymore in a debit card era?) and you can’t pop in here because, nope, they don’t take cards. Any. But, this time I planned ahead our first night in town and ordered a crispy crunchy perfect perch sandwich with slaw and fries and a martini that qualifies as a 3-martini lunch by itself. Our daughter ordered the most amazing fried clams I’ve ever had(even in New England) — incredibly fresh. The martini was so amazing we both ordered a second. Be sure to sit outside if the weather allows, the whole summer-swollen town parades by at night and the festively draped party lights give it that beer garden vibe. Summer memorable.

So we went here today since the wait at Boonedock’s was so long. I’m wishing we waited though… while the food tasted ok, the service was horrible. Not to mention it’s pretty expensive for what you get. I had the cheeseburger basket which came with fries and coleslaw. They forgot my fries and my coleslaw twice. It was $ 13 and change. The kids meals are all 4.99 but they come with nothing! I’m sorry, but 4.99 for 5 mini corn dogs or a hot dog seems like a rip off to me. Sides were 3.29 each and drinks were 2.50. Not the most economical or healthy options available. It does have a good location and a nice ambiance if you want to hang out at on the patio. If your thinking about it, I would pass.

If your in town and see that this place is packed…(Or not) keep going! It wasn’t terrible but it just was not worth it. The chili was spicy and a little dull. The coleslaw was swimming in sauce. My boyfriend enjoyed his grilled chicken sandwich. The service was slow-like way too slow. Unfortunately I would never recommend going her. Travel out to Empire to get your money’s worth.

I came with a couple of friends on a busy day, and we were seated pretty quickly. Food is okay — I had the whitefish burger. It didn’t really blow me away or anything, kind of plain and there wasn’t a whole lot of fish. It was a pretty thin patty. The tater tots were good. They had bloody marys with a «meat straw» but it turned out to be just a slim jim with a hole down the middle. I’m not too impressed. The service was mediocre. The lady seemed annoyed with us because we didn’t realize it was cash only and had to wait a while to order because we were all checking our pockets/the car for money to make sure we could cover the meal. The thing I disliked about this place was that they don’t accept cards, or split checks. Seems like a silly excuse to do less work. The place just doesn’t seem accommodating to their customers, and the service isn’t great. The atmosphere is cool(they have a bunch of flags from different colleges on the ceiling and walls) The food was okay as well, but I probably wouldn’t go back.

We drove out here yesterday. It was still blasted cold out. My car got extremely dirty. Their soups and the extremely tasty friday fish special were both excellent. We all had clam chowdah, 2 fish specials, and one reuben. Good service. Tasty meal. Mmm good. We walked down the street to look at the bay, we had planned a hike at the Dunes but it was just too cold. Brr. Fun fact– this was for my b-day.

UPDATE. Art’s is back! Went back today and it seems like things were back in order. Granted, it wasn’t as busy as during the summer but our food arrived fast and was delicious. I’m SOGLAD.
