I was relieved to find this place after moving here from Boston in part because the last place in my old neighborhood was gentrified out of recognition. The selection here is excellent. They have all of the products from Italy I want but have been unable to find in the US. And they were very nice. One of the better local experiences.

Everything here is a treat. I no longer run back to Brooklyn for these wonderful ingredients and prepared foods

Sandwiches are great. Broccoli rabe is hit or miss. Good prices, and lots of hard to get suff, like proper risotto rice. All in all 5 stars, for uniqueness and value.

I feel bad to give 3stars after reading all the 5 stars review. An old man behind the counter who made my sandwiches was nice n patient. Pepper steak hot hero was out of stock, I could not make up my mind what to get instead. Finally went with chicken cutlet. Mistake! My chicken cutlet was so bland but I guess this way was healthier? At least you would refuse to eat more than three bites. The plus was the portion was very generous. Longer than my forearm(see the picture). The menu on the wall says $ 7.00 for hot chicken cutlet hero and the same as for combo. But I got charged $ 20 for two. Well, after all, it was still a nice experience at the store simple because the old man was patient n sweet. You don’t try you won’t know.

Excellent provisions and meats/cheeses, but beware the hot prepared food – it’s total crap. Ironic that an authentic Italian deli with great food to work with can murder it when it comes to cooking it. Solution: get a new cook. If all you want is to buy good provisions, the place is terrific, but make the dish at home. Their sauces are horrendous. The eggplant is simply mush and anything that’s breaded and fried is just absolute garbage. Service is good, however, and friendly enough, and they know how to slice cold cuts perfectly. The chicken, veal and pork are all top drawer, and they’ll flatten and tenderize anything you ask for – they do a nice Arthur Avenue-like job on veal cutlets. But, again… do the cooking at home and don’t leave it to Razzano’s.

I don’t mean to sound like one of THOSE people, but my Razzano review was deleted, which makes no sense because the rating remains 5 stars. Friendly(enough) staff with narrow aisles and some solid product. Parking can be awkward and hectic, but it’s worth it.

The holy grail of hero’s. A true landmark on Long Island. The bread is perfect. Doughy enough to hold the EVO and Vinegar, and crusty enough to keep its integrity under severe hand pressure. You want to eat this. You need to eat this. They have everything a salumeria should and some; fresh sausages, homemade ravioli, lasagna that is some of the best i’ve had, anti pasta, sauted broccoli rabe, pizza. I don’t screw around, i always get a milano hero with chicken cutlet. Fresh homemade mozzarella, tomatoe, roasted red peppers and oil/vinegar finish off the dream. Most of the workers are all old school Italian, and speak English as a second language. Hard cheeses, and smoked meats hang from the ceiling. The grocery area is a treasure trove of authentic italian pantry items like truffle oil and pasta. You can go to a hundred different towns, in a hundred different places and you won’t find a place like Razzano’s.

This place is truly AMAZING. Get anything, every single ingredient is UNREAL. Best italian place I ever been too. Has everything you could possibly need, and the prices are just very little above supermarket prices but the quality truly is the best!

This. Place. Is. Legit. The parking lot sucks, the spot where it is on the street sucks, there’s always a line… and I’ll be God-Damned if its not worth it. The food here is the most authentic Italian you can get in Glen Cove. They always have samples out there, everything is home made. I love how you can stand on line, looking to get a hero, and walk out with every single sausage known to man kind, sauces, fresh rolled pasta… Can’t even tell you all the stuff you can find in here. Honestly its a bit of a hidden gem in this hood — if you guys aren’t from around here, and don’t know the Italian families in GC, you may never step food in this oasis of delightful yummies for your mouth. Let me tell you, order yourself a hero with mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, and prosciutto, cut that bad boy in three and bite anyone that tries to take a hunk of it from you. My dad is 6’7″ and bears a striking resemblance to Stone Cold and HE doesn’t even try and take my sammie from me.

Razanno is an oasis in a land of mediocre foods and markets. I eat lunch here multiple times a week. The store is packed with goods that is reminicient to the setup I saw in markets in Siena. Razano has amazing sandwiches, and wonderful imports from Italy. Try the Calabria sandwich, SOTASTY!

This place is truly unbelievable. Unbelievably awesome! I’ve been coming here for twenty years and I still adore it. Just this Friday I may have had the best sandwich of my entire life– the Milano. If you haven’t been here, you’ve done yourself a great disservice.

This place has been here a very long time, that alone should say alot since businesses today come and go. Vincent and Loretta are very nice and go out of their way to help you. Whenever we have guests visit us at work, we always order Razzano’s for the BEST Italian food in Glen Cove. Thank you for your great service and of course your food. Excellent!

My girlfriend brought me some Soppressata from this place a few days ago and brought it back to San Francisco. SUPERB! I killed it in two seatings. I’m seriously thinking about asking you guys to ship this stuff to San Francisco! I’ll pay premium dollar! Amazing!

Let me tell you about my secret life in the suburbs… When I need to escape to my happy place and can’t afford a ticket to Europe, I go to Nassau County. I drive a borrowed Mini-Cooper(great car!), and my first stop is Razzano’s. The smell when I walk into their store warms my heart. The sight of a shop stuffed to the ceiling with EVERYTHING that I would want to own, cook and eat — well, it is Nirvana. Real Nutella, good olive oil, frozen pasta, dry pasta, hand made sausage, meats, precooked food in cases. Arancini — my downfall. Fresh bread behind the counter, sausages, dry meats and cheeses are suspended form the ceiling — dried mushrooms in bags are on a boards asking to go home with me and be made into steak braised in mushroom & Madeira…(yes, food speaks to me!(DON’T JUDGE!!)) Oh, and since one of my best friends is Italian, and his mother writes to me(in Italian) the guys at Razzano’s translated the letters for me when I was just learning Italian. Phew — they saved me from some embarrassing replys. And for the hot foods and sandwiches? Let’s just say that I bring worldly people here, grab sandwiches, and drive to Sea Cliff to watch the boats on the ocean. I’ve had people profess undying love for me while eating those sandwiches and looking at the view — I know that it is really the endorphin rush from the food & the view — but it is safe to say that a trip to Razzano’s and parking by the beach is in my feminine arsenal, and no man can resist it… Well, until they are hungry again the next day — hopefully, one day the magic will stick.

Italian deli /butcher /grocery Oh man, this place gives me a chubby when I go in… They have everything from the old country that you could possible imagine under one roof. Awesome butcher area and they make their own sausages and the like there. Very large selection of fresh meats and prepared Italian specialties. Amazingly, I popped in for a breakfast sandwich and wanted bacon — I got my eggs w/Pancetta. It was the most amazing brekkie sandwich ever! I just can’t say enough about this place– you *must* go. Parking in front.

Great Italian specialties store and deli! My job has usually taken me to Glen Cove once a year the past 10 years… and Razzano’s has been my usual lunch stop when I’m there. This time, which was Thursday June 11, 2009, I had a sausage & peppers hero. With a 20 oz diet soft drink it came to $ 8. It was really more than I could eat. Wish I could have wrapped up half to bring home, wound up eating all the filling and ditching some of the bread. The line at lunch gets long — so get there early :-)
