I gave this place a try since I’ve been to Five Guys, Mooyah, Tom and Eddie, and Red Robin. Sorry, but this place doesn’t even make my top places to get a burger. My husband and I ordered their grilled chicken sandwich and the ½ pound burger. Honestly, it was terribly under seasoned. Both burgers. I know their motto is to keep it simple but dang, man, it was extremely bland. Also, I was surprised how small the burgers were. I thought they’d be bigger. It was rather disappointing. The fries were decent. Advice: just order the regular size because they give you a generous portion that you could probably share. Oh and I’m all about those Coca Cola soda machines. I love that machine like I love ice cream. Haha. Good employees and the place is kept clean. They’re friendly and they come and throw away your trash so you don’t have to.

I think I must be on a burger kick or something. I didn’t realize that I have been to so many burger places recently in such a short time period. I had heard of this place on TV and the internet and driven past it a few times. I was dyeing to try it so we finally did. I had the Cajun Sunrise burger. Wow! Talk about flavor! And the quality of the meat was great. I took a pass on the fried egg but got all the other recommended ingredients. They have two sizes like many places now. Either a 1⁄3 pound or a ½ pound. I got the half pound and it was just right. The wait time was not bad and they were busy at the time too. The service was friendly. Looking forward to my next trip!

Like the local support vibe a lot. Burger wise… Not that great. Not that bad. Patties were more well done/smaller and my burger was not dressed evenly. Seems inspired by smash burger but Smash is better. Five guys is too. This is worth checking out though. Fries are good.

Food is fairly priced. The food tastes great. The blond girl at the register was nice and inviting. Bathrooms were clean and smelled good. The restaurant décor looks cool. And spacious inside.

Don’t waste your money here. I ordered a ½ lb burger that looked more like a quarter pounder. The meat was overcooked and there was barely cheese on that burger. I also did not see the bacon that I paid an extra 1.00 I also ordered a side of Cajun fries. The fries were the greasiest fries I have ever seen. Disgusting. Plus expect service with an attitude. I was discouraged from ordering fries because they had to cut it and make it from scratch. She told me the fries would take 25 min, a lie, since they came out in 5 min with my burger. This just shows me that the personnel is lazy and does not want to serve their customers if they need to do any extra work. Very disappointed at this place.

Two of my friends and I went to meatheads for lunch. We really like meatheads, the food is good and comes out quickly. That day I hadn’t eaten anything yet and was hungry so I ordered large fries. My friends are also big fans of meathead fries so they ordered regular fries. After ordering our server, Jacque, frowned and said«I think you guys got too many fries, the regular feeds two adults and the large feeds three. Are you sure you don’t want a smaller size?» Her tone of voice was completely condescending Never before had I experienced such rude behavior exhibited by a server. My friends felt like they were being judged, so, without wanting to, they changed their orders to kids sizes. They were still hungry after eating but felt uncomfortable ordering a larger size because of what Jacque said to them. The food is good but the servers there are some of the rudest people one can encounter when eating out.

As good a Meatheads food is the service here at this location is amazing. The cashier/shift manager, Amber was over the top nice and made me feel really welcomed. She talked with us like we were friends and not customers. Recommended the Cajun fries. She also asked me several times during my meal if everything was good and even offered to refill my drink. I will be returning to this Meatheads, not just for the food, but because of the great staff and atmosphere. Another big plus is that they have two working coca cola 100 flavor machines.

Food was very good. Service not great. Half of our orders were wrong… we were the only people in the entire restaurant. When we asked that the orders be fixed(mostly missing toppings and/or cheese), the staff acted like they were doing us a favor. Been to other Meathead’s in the chain, food is consistent with them, but more training needed. If they can’t get orders right for the only meal table they are cooking for, I cringe to see what I’d get during a busy lunch rush.

Not only does Meatheads have excellent burgers and fries, but they also understand what it takes to excel in a small community. I already loved how they show their support for the local high schools by posting scores for in-season sports, but they did something this past weekend that went above and beyond. My elderly parents were babysitting my kids and they decided to take the kids to Meatheads(my boys are big fans). While ordering, my mom asked for a cup of coffee, to which the cashier apologized and said they don’t have coffee. No problem, they placed their order and sat down and in less than five minutes an employee of Meatheads showed up at their table with their food… and a coffee from the nearby Panera. Now that’s customer service! Thanks for making my parents fans, Meatheads!

Best burgers around. It’s like the In-N-Out of Illinois. Although I’m still partial to In-N-Out, I do like the wider variety at Meatheads. It is more expensive than In-N-Out but cheaper than other burger places(other than fast food joints because I wouldn’t place this with fast food). The burgers are incredibly juicy and fresh. It wasn’t nasty greasy either. I love their fries here way more than In-N-Out. I had the Cajun Fries and they seemed fried to order, and the seasoning was awesome. It wasn’t overly salty and just enough spice. The fries are also thinner than most places, so if you prefer fat fries, sorry, you’ll have to go to Five Guys. Overall, I prefer this over Five Guys any day.

This place was gross and it is towards their chicken tenders. Fries were ok, you receive a huge portion for a regular. My son said his hamburger was good, and he loved the fries. As far as the chicken tenders go do not order them unless you like this type of battered chicken. It was slimy and oily, didn’t look drained enough. I would not go here again just based on they are eh ok. Nothing special, the pop machine is the coolest thing in the place.

What a great place! This was my first time at this restaurant and Amber made it very easy to figure out the process. The service was fantastic and the burgers were so tasty. The restaurant seems to support the local high school football teams and you can track their seasons on the big board. I recommend.

Five guys, Smash Burger, and seven other«sit down fast food» burger joints have come to every one’s towns. You likely have a favorite. For me, I would go with Five Guys burgers and Smash Burger’s fries. Enter Meatheads. Great burgers and great fries. They have very good topping choices for the burgers as well. If the big three were next to each other, I would pick Meatheads.

We live in Glen Ellyn and are sitting in our car facing south at the Main St. & Roosevelt Rd. stoplight a lot, so we watched the«That Burger Joint» place go up. Eventually we thought we’d try it out and checked the Unilocal reviews for it, which weren’t good. A couple of people mentioned that they wished they’d gone to Meatheads instead. So we figured we’d just forget about the other place and go straight to Meatheads. We were not disappointed! We’ve been to 5 Guys a couple of times but weren’t that impressed. We like this place better. I think it’s a little more expensive, but the service is really top-notch, and I like the fries better. I got the chili cheese fries, and it was enough for 2 – 3 people. The food is quick and easy, and I like the topping choices for the burgers. I also like it that when I say that I don’t want a bun on my burger, they don’t look at me like I’m from Mars. I don’t eat bread. It’s not really a big deal. They don’t act like it is, and I appreciate that. We’ve eaten there twice now, and both times when we left we were full, happy, and satisfied. My only complaint about it is that I must have driven by like a thousand times and never really noticed it was there, and from the name/sign I didn’t know it was a burger place. I kinda thought it was another sub shop or something. This is not really their fault though… I guess I’m not that observant.

My favorite childhood memory of visiting my Nana and Aunt Diane, as they lived in Brookfield right by the train station, was going out the back door to Cock Robin and getting a double cheeseburger and a cone with cubed ice cream.(Yes, they used cube-shaped ice cream scoops. Great for scoop stacking. Plus, the triple-scoop cone itself was of a different design.) Fast forward many years and a sea change in hamburger couture, and I’m re-living the dream. Sort of. Meatheads does as close an approximation to Cock Robin as I’ve tasted. The bun was gooey and molded to the insides, just like Cock Robin. The patties were thin and not overly tasty, but did the job, just like Cock Robin. A word on the patties. My wife ordered the 1⁄3 pound burger with everything but mayo, and I ordered the same thing but of the ½ pound variety. I thought that a thicker, juicier and more flavorful patty might be worth the extra $ 1.25. And I was wrong. Instead of different patties, Meatheads makes one size patty, which is 1⁄6 pound in weight. You either get two or three patties in your burger. This was disappointing, as a third thin patty didn’t offer anything except a little bigger bulge in my gut. It’s not worth the extra cost. The fries in my to-go order were lukewarm, enough to require putting them in the toaster oven at home. They had a decent crispiness to them, but the salt distribution was not well done. What they lacked in quality they made up for in quantity, as we couldn’t finish the single large order that took up nearly two inches of the bottom of the bag. The favorite parts of my order were the EarthChoice boxes which held the burgers. They rock in design and eco-friendliness, and they did a good job in keeping the burgers warm.(Though a piece of aluminum foil could do just as well, I reckon.) I can see hoarders washing the boxes and keeping them somewhere, as they might come in handy someday. If I could give half-stars, I wouldn’t. Meatheads deserves exactly three stars. Or perhaps six thin and not-as-juicy half-stars. Perhaps I would’ve enjoyed it more had I eaten there. Meatheads is trying to be community-driven, on display by listing the scores of the boys and girls basketball games on the inside wall. Nice job listing both genders, Meatheads! But why choose six local high schools and leave off Willowbrook? I live in Willowbrook’s district and am in Lombard, only one town away. And if you really want to push high school sports, don’t forget gymnastics and wrestling. Football and basketball get all the pub. Oh well. I was accosted by two servers during my stay. Not really«accosted,» but both of them were fine young women, friendly enough in their interactions to make me feel a little… uh, what’s the phrase… all that and a two-inch-deep bag of fries. I think of Meatheads as a less-greasy Cock Robin that pushes fresh toppings and angus beef, but I don’t know if it’s worth the extra cost. If a Cock Robin was next door, I’d nostalgia-trip there instead, get a cheap double and fries and use the savings for a triple-scoop cubed cone.

Son #4, who is 9 years old, was dying for some Cajun french fries. None of my other sons even knew what Cajun fries were when they were 9, that tells you how worldly this guy is! Anyway, I turned to my Unilocal buddies and located Meatheads. The Cajun fries are delicious! We only had one son with us for the outing and our lunch was about $ 30. Hubby had a ½ pound burger, I had the patty melt(no bun, just a lettuce wrap) and son had 4 chicken fingers. They have a freestyle soda machine here, so the little man was in heaven! I’m one of those«rebel» parents who lets my kid drink soda when we go out, so he was psyched for the treat! The burgers were cooked just right and #4 said the chicken fingers were«crispy on the outside but soft and moist on the inside».(I see a future Unilocaler in him!). We all split a large order of Cajun fries which comes on a 9 inch plate and is plenty! Minus one star for the heating or lack of it at this location. We moved from our first seat(near the freestyle machine) to a different one trying to warm up and it didn’t work. If I could have ordered a coffee I would have! Turn up the heat man!

There’s an old episode of ‘Ren and Stimpy’ where they adopt a convict that falls off the back of a bus. They take him on a picnic, where this unfolds: Ren — What do you want to eat, Kowalski? Kowalski — MEAT! Ren — What do you want to drink, Kowalski? Kowalski — MEAT! So Ren makes a breadless meat on meat sandwich for him, and throws some red meat in a blender for a disgusting looking meat shake. Much like Kowalski, when I am pregnant I want MEAT. Served with a side of MEAT. So off to Meatheads I went. My plan was to get a burger and some chili cheese fries, but the guy said the chili cheese fries are huge, and i didn’t think i could throw down, so I ordered a cajun burger with a side of cajun fries. He asked if i would like a side of chili with that. Would I? Hell yes give me a side of MEAT to my MEAT. The Cajun burger has a fried egg, pepperjack cheese, fresh jalapenos, bacon and bleu cheese sauce. I was a little bummed that the yolk was completely cooked through, runny yolk on burgers is the best, but it was still super good and i shoved it in my face. The fresh jalapenos on there were so killer, i loved it, i’d get the same burger again but ask for the runny yolk. Everything else was perfection on it. The cajun fries were ok, but i wouldn’t get them again. Too salty to eat with the chili. Next time i’ll just get regular fries when i get MEAT with my side of MEAT. I ate the majority of my burger and fries, and then sat and pondered ’ Do I dare get back in line?‘ Hell yeah I did. Marched right on over like BAM. This was my first(and a half?) visit to Meatheads, and I always feel slight trepidation at ordering Chocolate shakes at a place for the first time. Do they really have shakes, or am i going to get flashed? Do i even have any 20s on me? No, buddies, it’s a legit chocolate shake. Perfect ending to my Meatfest. I will be back, oh yes, I will be back.

First time at a Meatheads. This is a really cool place. It’s super clean(yes, I know it’s new) and the seating is great and it seems more spacious than many of the other similar burger joints. The people working are really friendly, likable, helpful and service-oriented. We loved how they seem to be community-focused– one of the guys working told us about the Meathead of the Month board where local high school athletes can be nominated and win a meal and their picture on the board. They have another board(see the picture) where the local public high school games are listed and it looks like they’ll keep track of who wins each game. I’m a big fan of the Coca Cola machines where you can pick your base drink and add flavors– this location has two which is so smart because the other places I have been that have these machines have huge lines to get your drink because they only have one. The menu is basic– burgers, chicken, hotdogs, milkshakes, and fries. I like that they have a selection of sauces you can get on the side or add to your burger. I built my own burger and had bacon ranch sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickle and added bacon(.99) and it was really good– juicy(but not super greasy) and tasty. My husband really liked his Californian which has pepper jack cheese, cucumber wasabi sauce, avocado, lettuce and tomato and wants to try the Hawaiian one next time. I’m looking forward to trying one of their shakes– they have interesting flavors like mocha, coffee or Oreo in addition to the regular flavors of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. The burgers are reasonably priced(the build your own starts at $ 4.75) but everything can add up(I think it’s $ 4.00 extra if you add fries and a drink). They have a kids menu too. We shared a large order of fresh cut fries and they were really good.(Their website says they have a 32-step process to create them!) You can order cajun fries too or they have little shakers of cajun seasoning you can sprinkle on yourself if you want so you can control the taste. We didn’t finish our fries but someone offered to bag them up for us. Too bad there isn’t a drive thru but I don’t think it would work in this location on Roosevelt. We even liked the music they were playing. Their T-shirts are super cute and clever too. :) We had a good experience and expect this location to do really well. We’ll be back!
