Friar Tux Shop

Hate to leave this but you gave me no choice. Be honest when conducting business.
We ordered Tuxedos from Friar for almost $ 900. We paid and was told to come in for try after 7 days. after two days I called to cancel 1 of the tuxedos. The manager told us that the tuxedo is already in store and that we can come in and try and that we wont be charged the 20 dollars cancellation fee. Sadly, later he don’t remember that he said that and he didn’t honor it. You know you said it but Even if you didn’t say it and I misunderstood, you should make your customer happy. I have 4 family members that are getting married in 2016, I was planning to send them your way!

Fantastic service… and the fitting specialist wasn’t even there! Karla helped us when her co-​worker was running late! She helped us not only find the right color for our holiday party but convinced me to purchase a tux that will come in handy for future events (just gotta keep the holiday weight off ;-) Love this place and will recommend them to everyone!

This is a well-​run business that sorted my son out with a tux and all the accoutrements for a Homecoming dance at the very last moment. I am very glad they stock «classic», black and white formal wear, as we would not have rented the peacock style so popular with so many people. I commend Karla Ramirez particularly for her professionalism, helpfulness and charm.

Just went here for my brothers wedding rental. People who worked there were friendly and helpful but the rental is extremely over priced as I could buy a tuxedo for the same amount of money ! Also, whomever wore the tix shirt they have me before I did smelled terrible and it came out as soon as I put the tux on. Of course I have a slight body odor, who doesn’t? But this was not my flavor and it was strong and nasty. I was afraid of taking my jacket off during the whole formal wedding event because of this. this shoes were also all scuffed up and not cleaned properly. Unfortunately I will not be going here again. But as for the employees, they are great and happy to help you. Thanks to them !

The place was busy when I got there with my dad and they skipped us twice. When I spoke up the employees apologized but continued to help the customers that skipped in front of us. Then we were rushed when trying items on. Would not recommend going to this location. Place is small and I felt they did not have the proper staff to accommodate all their appointments. The staff I have to say was very nice just seemed unorganized.

The Glendale Friar Tux went above and beyond in their service. I had a near disaster when my brides-​man could not make it 6 days before the wedding and we thought we lost out on a tux rental. Thankfully they were happy to accommodate my younger brother and get him a few sizes just to make sure it fit. The quality of the suits were impeccable and I am beyond happy with the experience overall.

Superior service. We went to Mens Warehouse and ended up being disappointed and arrived at Friartux with trepidation. We were greeted by Douglas Garcia that proceeded to help us with dilemma to find the right tux for our wedding. He manage to, based on a few questions able to narrow down what we were looking for and made some suggestions that we at first were not sure about and then discovered it was the right choice. I feel fortunate to have somebody like him help us with our tuxedo dilemma. It rare to find good customer service today and extremely rare to find superior customer service that was provided by Mr. Garcia. Thank you!

After month’s of planning and getting ready for their big day, my friend finally told us that «okay, you guys will have to go see Friar Tux», thank goodness there’s one close to my shack, so one weekend I stopped by to get fitted for the style that my friend selected for all his groomsmen.
This Glendale Friar Tux shop is very nice and clean, the guy who helped me was very pleasant, after giving him my info to check their system, he picked a few items for me to put on and then he started taking the measurements which honestly did not take that long, I wouldn’t mind either if it took longer as you wouldn’t want an ill fitting tuxedo while walking down the aisle… there’s just no reason for that to happen especially if you got fitted.
A few weeks after (a couple days before the wedding) I went back to Friar Tux for the final fitting, the Tux fits perfect! They did such a fine job!
Just a note though before leaving the shop (or any place similar to a wardrobe rental), check that everything is in the bag, tux, pants, pocket squares, cufflinks, tie or bow-​tie, suspenders — you don’t want to leave the shop and head to your destination to find out you are missing a shoe or the motif pocket squares or tie.
Overall, I highly recommend this Friar Tux for your wedding Tux needs, the people are nice, the shop is clean not to mention their many selection of fine Tux that could could make anyone look very dapper especially on that very special day.

I had a very seamless (no pun intended) experience at friar tux. I went in, got fitted, came back to pick it up, and dropped it off without a problem. It’s exactly how renting a tux should be.

Horrible service! Do not go to this friar tux store! Made an appointment to come in and look at suits with my fiancé and I was very unhappy with the whole experience. There is no where to park nearby for free, and they don’t validate parking. I had to use the restroom and they don’t have public restrooms and sent me walking three blocks away to find a restroom. It’s obvious that they don’t have a very high regard for their customers.
The associate that was helping me was one of the rudest people I’ve encountered in my wedding planning experience. After explaining to him what color suits I wanted he said they didn’t carry much of that in store and it there would be an up charge on the rental. When I asked why those suits were more money he told me that what I wanted was ridiculous and if I just picked out something different for my wedding I wouldn’t be having this issue. I walked out of the store with my mouth open from shock. Horrible horrible horrible service. I don’t know if this is just this store, or the whole chain, but I would not recommend them after my experience.

this past weekend was our 2^nd time renting from this location. first time was last may for a wedding and my son needed a tux. he enjoyed being fitted SO much that now he always wants to find an occasion to go rent from here. this past weekend we needed a nice suit for a trip down to san diego and they did not disappoint.
Juon fitted my son both times and took care to explain things to him and make him feel comfortable… my son really likes him. they can get busy, so don’t plan to just be in and out. also, the parking lot on the corner is no longer available, but there is a city parking in a structure right across the street and also further up the same block. it’s 90 minutes free and not far at all.
you can also put a deposit down on the suit and pay for the remainder when you pick it up. we rented it on a friday, but wouldn’t be back in LA until that monday and they didn’t charge us extra rental fees for keeping it. i’ve only dealt with Juon and Doug, but they’re both really friendly and helpful.
i’ll probably be back next month and in july!

I had previously left 1 star. But now it’s 5 star. Tux was returned the manager made it up.

There were several options all at prices lower than competitors. But for me, the most significant thing was that I had a great experience with your associate Doug. He knew his product and his business and made me feel like a VIP.

I used Friar Tux Shop for my wedding in September 2014. I choose Friar because of their quality suits, super reasonable prices and great customer service skills. I worked with Jessie and a couple of the other guys in the shop, they were all EXTREMELY nice and helpful every single time my husband and I were there! They were super patient and even fitted my husband twice and brought in his tux earlier to make sure it fitted him right since it was a new Michael Kors design. I would definitely use them again anytime we need formal wear and recommend them to all! All of our wedding party and especially my husband looked so handsome and sharp the day of the wedding.

Came here to get 2 of my groomsmen measured for suits. First off, parking around the location isn’t that great so be prepared to either circle around and/​or parking a little bit away.
When we got there, it was surprisingly busy. Throw in that the location felt smaller than other ones, and it felt cramped. Employees were definitely running around trying to make every happy (at least they weren’t understaffed!)
My biggest complaint that while nice, the employee who measured my friends seemed to really rush through it. When I went into a different location, they did many more measurements on me and even had my try on a shirt and vest to just make sure their measurements were right. That definitely didn’t happen here. I am very nervous that when we come pick up our suits in a couple weeks that these two suits come out correctly.

We first walked in and were greeted with a sales clerk who explained their system. Their location was a showcase shop only. They had a variety of tuxes on display (more than 10, I say). If we wanted to try something on, we could try something similar but they did not have the exact one there. You would have to make an appointment, and they can order tuxes for you to try on. (YAY! The other two places did not have a try-​on session. You basically pointed to a catalog and waited until the wedding date.)
We came a couple weeks later and were helped by Arpi. She walked us through some options, made suggestions and showed us sample vests (color and print). She walked us through our order, measured my finance and ordered 3 suits for him to try-​on. She also explained that while they are a local business that they are part of a network. This way, our out-​of-​town groomsmen can get measured by a local partner store.
Our try-​on day was a couple of weeks later, my finance found that the suit we thought he would look good in didn’t flatter him much and that the suit he liked needed some adjustments in size. So great to discover this now! We finalized our order, set-​up our website for the groomsmen and made our final appointment for the actual tux pick-​up. They request a 2 day before the wedding pick-​up to make sure that all fits right.
Sure, guys do not care so much, but on your wedding day you want all to look their best. Why not take advantage of the options available with Friar Tux and avoid any possible mishaps or misfits later on.

This place has been around forever and only has 2 reviews — how is that possible?
Anyway, I’ve used their services for prom and weddings, alike. My last experience I was getting fitted for a wedding with the other groomsmen. It was all fine and dandy. On wedding day, my groom noticed that his suit was missing his kerchief which matched his vest.
As the best man, I really had to make things right. Unfortunately, I had to drive back to the shop because they could not send out a driver. You can’t overlook the groom’s suit; it has to be perfect. I feel that Friar Tux kinda fell short on this considering how much the entire party paid for rentals.
My suit also sorta smelled like someone else’s B.O. Wasn’t too happy about that…
I suppose I would use their services again, but I won’t be excited about it.
