Found this store while searching in Unilocal.Closest irish shop in my area, not a huge store so if you drive too quickly down Waukegan you’ll miss it. A very nice selection of items and products. I bought my wife a pair of earrings and she LOVES them plus the price was right!

My husband and I went here the day before St. Patrick’s Day this year, so in this case we happened to visit the store on a Saturday. We weren’t sure what the hours were, but figured we would take a quick stroll over there from our place and check out this shop anyhow since we wouldn’t be going far out of our way. I guess they closed a bit early due to the holiday(their business card lists closing time as 5:30 pm) so we were initially disappointed to find out the store had just closed about 15 minutes before we got there. Luckily the person there(the owner, I assume) was still there and invited us in. We felt a bit guilty that we were keeping her there after hours so we browsed as quickly as we could. There was a lot to take in — not in an over-stuffed clutter way that is usually the case with such gift shops. This place actually had quite the impressive, tasteful collection of Irish-themed stuff, even some food items. The lemon curd that we bought there was delicious, especially on the homemade soda bread that my mother-in-law brought to dinner the next evening. We also purchased some shamrock window clings and a little porcelain dish. All the while, the saleswoman did not appear impatient with us or want to rush us out of the store, but also was not asking us if we needed help every 5 seconds or try to aggressively peddle her merchandise to us. It was the perfect level of retail service. St. Paddy’s or not, we plan on shopping here again at some point in the future.
