Waited for 30 minutes while two tables were available only to be ignored and others in the queue after us were sat at tables. Had to eat pizza across the street for breakfast.

It’s hard to leave only 2 stars, but it would be tougher to leave 3. Customer service was very friendly and attentive, but nothing else was outstanding. Coffee was not good at all. I love coffee but can always settle for average at a chain restaurant-this tasted 3 days old warmed up. Food was bland: stale toast, very bland. Portions were decent and it came out fast for us though. The inside was spacious, great location! I was there the same day as a previous reviewer and also saw the kids running around. Interesting considering the pictures people posted about kids in the restaurant. Not sure that we will be back. We usually grab breakfast burritos but this time wanted something different. The place down the street was packed so we gave this one a try. If there was a bigger menu, fresher food, way tastier coffee, and better prices we would consider trying again.

I had breakfast here Saturday, friendly service and got our meal quick. The only complaint I have is what I assume was the owners little kids were running around the dining area playing and would go back into the kitchen periodically. They were playing on the floor, in the drink cooler, and with condiments on the empty tables. This was enough of a turn off that I will not be going back.

Their menu recently went up in price and they no longer have hash browns in their menu. That’s what made their skillets awesome for me. Still delicious with potatoes, but not enough to justify the price. I use to go once per week with a couple friends, but have since waited for the rare urge to eat here. *Would have given 5 stars a year ago

The food is very unremarkable for the price. I had a skillet and my husband had the burrito, and neither were very good, although I guess they were acceptable. It was nice to sit outside with our dog, though, so we appreciated that. We also liked our server, who was very attentive and very nice. But bland food that costs too much isn’t my cup of tea. Not a fan.

The server was sweet. The food was so bad. I got a skillet which was just unseasoned potatoes out of the fryer, RAW onions, half melted cheese and chorizo. It was thrown together sloppily in layers and not mixed up with no flavor or seasoning. My friends Benedict came with a fruit cup in a plastic cup with the lid still on it, like the kind you would pack a kid in a boxed lunch. Overpriced and terrible.

Not worth a review, our second time here thought we’d give it a second chance since the food once it came out was good but. They’re turning a away business with 5 empty tables in a 15 table restaurant telling people it will be an hour! The head person told a couple that complained that«we cook everything in order! What are they doing in business’s

I’m surprised to see the reviews so low! Maybe I got lucky, but my experience was great. It wasn’t busy though — maybe that’s the kicker. The waitress was the sweetest lady, I loved my burger, and my boyfriend had a scramble with green chili and totally dug it. We will go back to this spot.

One star is a stretch… This place needs to go on that TV show restaurant impossible in the worst way. Note to owner/manager: how do you expect people to give you their business when your product is lousy, your service is rude and abrasive, and your restaurant looks like it was put together for a couple hundred bucks? You will be out of business eventually. Especially with quality alternatives like Café 13 only about 100 yards away.

Didn’t even order food here. The attitude of the woman(who seemed to be in charge) was absolutely atrocious. She was mean to the host and mean to her wait staff. We were seated next to the register only to hear her complain, huff and puff about receipts. We then heard her go back to the kitchen and YELL about being pissed off. The host seated a table and she got pissed about it and called him out in front of the guests being seated. One couple came in and she barked«hold on sorry guys it’s going to be a few minutes, we’re trying to catch up!» They looked pretty taken aback. This wouldn’t matter if she had said it kindly, but she may as well have said«get out.» After being around for less than 10 minutes and hearing all this negativity we left to try Café 13. Chalked it up to her having a bad morning. Probably should have checked out their Unilocal reviews before walking in. Looks like negativity is the norm.

Wait staff was alright, for the most part friendly but I’ve had better service at other breakfast establishments. Super over priced when it comes to food, my boyfriends skillet ended up being around $ 15 because he added a few extra vegetables. It took almost 20 some minutes to get our breakfast(it was only 2 of us). I almost had to leave because I had to get to work but thankfully they called and said to come in later. Overall food was alright, will probably stick to our regular spot, The Diner on 12th, from here on out.

Food was not good. Pancakes weren’t cooked all the way and tasted like generic box mix. French toast had onions in them? Some of our food was not even edible. Overpriced for bad food. Rude staff/owner possibly? Made a big deal about splitting up a check because she was«too busy» Also it took 45 minutes to get our food! Horrible experience.

I found myself in Golden with time for breakfast and wandered in here. Overall I wasn’t impressed. The place looks very tired, almost like a saloon in a ghost town from the Old West. I was the only one here and the food took a long time to come out given that it was a simple skillet and the only order. The skillet itself was extremely dry, flavorless and boring. I don’t think I’ll come back in.

I’ll just tell you what we saw: Service: Terrible, waited forever to get drinks and then food. We thought they may have not put the order in at one point it was so long. Food: Nothing to write home about and expensive Drinks: Instead of a normal«bottomless» soft drink and coffee, we got charged for refills– was not expecting that. Wait staff: One nice girl who didn’t appear to be assigned our table but she did the most as nobody else did much of anything. Atmosphere: Not extremely warm or welcoming for a breakfast environment. In the end, would not recommend this at all.

Slow food, and not in a good way. Slow as in an hour between ordering and receiving breakfast. And then the breakfast skillets were bland and lacking in character. Smothered with green chili that was the worst I’ve ever had in terms of both flavor and presentation. It was brownish and chunky looking rather like cat barf. Not joking. The«chorizo» was some sort of chunked gray ground beef from the look and taste of it, lacking in any sort of chorizo flavor and savory goodness. I didn’t eat much of it. We almost got up and left money on the table for the weak and not that great coffee but by the time we made that decision — the food finally arrived. Thankfully we were having a good conversation and doing some trip planning. If we had been less pre-occupied we would have noticed the growing hunger pangs and lack of food a bit more. After at first presenting a rather surly countenance our server shifted gears and was quite nice and apologetic when talking about our lack of food and the kitchen being backed up. From what I overheard later I’m guessing the restaurant’s faults lie in management and our server was not terribly happy about working here. On my way back past the kitchen from the restroom I heard the loud angry tone of a woman saying«don’t f&^ing tell me how to run this f&%^ing restaurant». Nice. Something is not right here. Should have gone to the Table Mountain Inn as we had planned. Only went to this place to try something new and because they had open sidewalk seating and we felt like being outside. Next time!

The Golden Skillet is true to it’s average of 3 stars. My friend was craving biscuits and gravy. With limited options for breakfast foods at 11:30am, we came here. I got the 2 egg skillet with potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, sausage, cheese, and green chili on the side(I’m still wary about green chili on my food, but I’m warming up to the idea). The skillet came out piping hot. A quick dip into the chili to confirm that I’d like it, then I boldly poured it over my skillet. I nice move if I do say so myself. It was savory and a little spicy. I’m a fan. It also came with a wimpy, dried out, toasted slice of store bought bread. I stole a bite of my friend’s biscuit and gravy. I don’t usually get this so I don’t have much expertise on the matter. He said it was«different.» Different good? Or different bad, I can’t really say. He did eat it all. To me it was just biscuits and gravy. Too dense. The menu seems limited, the prices are high for what you get. It was basic breakfast food and didn’t «wow» me. The outside looks so cozy and homey, maybe I was searching for food to match that impression…

This empty hall of pollen yellow is bland and non descript. The service was solid, and the food wholly unremarkable. I had a burger that was classic Costco style patty and the bacon was as thin and arm hair. The lack of adornment is astonishing, like a 1950’s school cafeteria painted yellow. And places like this so lack from having no specialty item. Something you’re famous for. A big waffle, vermont maple syrup bacon, something… The scant menu is also pedestrian to a curse. Ham, bacon, eggs, burgers. There’s nothing here with a seocnd stop :(

Generally unimpressed and they’re very expensive for what you get. I would have given them three stars for the friendly staff, but I just can’t. It seems that if there’s any way to charge extra for something, they can and will. I’m not sure why it took our food longer to come out, even though we were there before the 2 – 3 other tables who got their food before us. My skillet was smothered at my request, and it seemed lacking without having cheese added to the green chili. They have a sign posted about not letting your kids run around or make a mess of the place, because they’ll add a babysitting fee charge or something. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be funny(like loose children will get espresso and a puppy), but it rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t think we’ll be returning.
